Lexie kept herself busy the whole night. Partly because she wanted to avoid Nathan, she still couldn't look at him because of what happened earlier this afternoon. And partly because she wanted to impress Kaylee, she's not sure if the offer to stay at the bar was just a one night thing, so she's hoping that if she does a good job she could stay at the bar again tonight.
Kaylee of course noticed Lexie, the moment she arrived, she noticed the girl looking even more out of place than yesterday. She is obviously over dressed, but she decided not to say anything, not wanting to prove to Nathan that he was right. Plus it seems to be good for the business, Kaylee noticed some customers seems to be ordering a lot from Lexie.
"Jana." Kaylee called out to her most experienced waitress.
"Yes lady boss." Jana playfully danced towards her boss, moving to the beat.
"Keep an eye out for table 3,8, and 14. When they get drunk, make sure not to let Lexie serve those tables." They look harmless enough now, but who knows, alcohol can do things to people.
"You got it boss." Jana looked at the table that her boss was pointing out, making sure to remember the faces of the people there. She gave Kaylee a playful salute and went back to her job.

"Come on 21. Break time." Nathan tapped Lexie's shoulder, causing her to slightly jump in surprise. She turned and saw the person she had been trying to avoid. She tried not to think of the incident a while ago, she really didn't want to blush in front of him again. She feared it was starting to be a habit.
"Uhm.. Actually I already had my break, with Jen." She answered, still not being able to look at him.
"Whatever." He walked past, lightly bumping her in the process.
What's his problem? Lexie turned and watched Nathan grab a plate of fries and burger, and a beer, and went straight to Kaylee's office. Whatever. She shook her head and went back to what she was doing. I don't have time to deal with him.
Inside the office, Nathan sat on the table taking a big gulp of his beer, completely ignoring his food. What the hell is her problem? Does she think he didn't notice that she was avoiding him? And she had her break with Jen? It's only her 2nd day here and she's deciding her own break time already? Typical, privileged kid . He scoffed to himself.
Kaylee walked in her office to see Nathan sulking on her table. She laughed and closed the door loud enough to break Nathan's trance. He looked up at her, looking annoyed.
"What's wrong with you?" Kaylee asked as she sat on her chair, pushing Nathan off her desk.
"Nothing." Nathan sat on one of the chairs in front of Kaylee, noticing his can empty, he crushed it in his hands.
"You should tell your eyebrows that."
Nathan tried his best to straighten his eyebrows.
"Hey, don't we have some kind of dress code for the staff?" Nathan asked, trying his best to sound casual.
"Huh?" Kaylee asked, although she already knew what he wanted to say. She noticed Nathan earlier watching their new hire a little too closely tonight. Interesting, she is definitely not regretting hiring that girl.
"You know, a dress code for the staff, like what to wear or what not to wear. Or maybe there should be a uniform." Nathan continued.
"I know what a dress code is, and as long as they look descent I don't see any problem with how they dress. And seriously, a uniform Nathan? Who would want to wear one? Would you?" She was munching on the fries that Nathan was still ignoring.
"Descent? I don't think having those assholes look her up and down like that is descent!" Nathan answered a little too loudly.
"Feeling a bit protective of the new girl huh?" Kaylee was really enjoying teasing him.
"What? No, of course not." He scoffed defensively. "Well, she's just a kid for f**k's sake."
"Relax Nathan, I told Jana to take over those tables and keep an eye out for Lexie." Kaylee laughed, pushing the plate towards Nathan, he haven't eaten anything yet.
"Okay." Nathan answered.
"Just okay? Like you weren't being protective just a few seconds ago?"
"Whatever." Nathan grabbed a few fries and left Kaylee laughing in her office, she grabbed the untouched burger on the plate and took a big bite.
