It's hard not to care

"Ugh! Finally. Yay! I can't wait to take a vacation… sigh, I have been working so hard these past two years. Being your assistant is such damn hard tsk." Jess complained, making Genesis chuckle.

Yup! In two months or less, she would finally go back to her habitat. Yes, she learned a lot, and yes Aiden is something she will never regret, but still she is a CEO herself. Her company is waiting!

"Stop complaining! It won't be hard to find a new one anyway…." Genesis replied to her complaints. " Haha no never mind forget I said anything...you know what, I'm glad you-- I mean we uh talked... Yeah got to go"

BEEP

Genesis let out a small chuckle again and placed the phone in her pocket. She turned around to face the other's and met Andrew's gaze. He seemed to have been paying great attention to her phone call. She didn't let any expression be shown in her face and walked towards her brother. He had a warm smile on his lips and in front of him Faith was blushing. She found herself smiling along.

As if she were suddenly hit by a cold bucket of ice her smile stiffened. ' Right! Look at myself wasn't I supposed to pair him up with Bae? Sigh it's his choice at the end of the day anyway.' Figuring this out she tapped her brother's shoulder." We'll get going then." She told Faith.

Faith nodded her head, and Genesis walked away with Ethan. Genesis didn't bother to say goodbye to Andrew and neither did Ethan.

Andrew shook his head and faced his sister." Do you like him?" He asked. Faith gave him a sheepish smile and nodded. "Fine. I'll bear with him for you." He patted her head and they started walking.

"Brother….you still love her don't you?" She asked. Andrew sighed and placed his hands in his pockets. " Of course I do. Only a blind idiot wouldn't." He responded with a small smile.

(Author: So why did you cheat on her? *Rolls her eyes)

" Tch then why did you guys break off your engagement?" Faith asked. " You don't need to know that." He told her while clenching his jaw. " Brother….. I want to help you get back together but, how can I do that? You won't even tell me what happened!" Faith pouted.

Andrew sighed. "Is not the right time. I'll explain everything later." He told her, Faith was not at all pleased with this and she kept walking ahead of him.

Genesis entered the house and the first thing she did was take a shower. She put on a black, off-shoulder romper and a pair of high thigh black boots. Once she was done with her outfit she combed her hair and took her purse in her hand. She walked down the stairs to meet with Ethan who was on his phone sitting on the sofa.

"Done?" He asked and turned to look at her. "Yup!" Genesis responded and walked inside the kitchen. "Why so dressed up?" Ethan asked suspiciously. He heard her laughter echo from the kitchen.

" It's Sunday, I don't have to wear a pencil skirt, or business suit, and heels anymore. I no longer need to have a perfect ponytail and professional attitude. Can't I enjoy my youth and my weekend?" Genesis told him.

Ethan chuckled. "Right! Now tell me where are you going right after this?" Ethan asked knowing that is not her reason. He got up and closed the chat on his phone. He so happened to be texting with Aiden about today's events.

He had informed him that he would agree with his previous words.

He entered the kitchen and saw her cooking? " No seriously. You're going somewhere after meeting them right?" Ethan asked. Genesis had placed her accessories away and put on an apron.

She turned around and grinned. "Yeah! I'm going to go visit my boss!" She answered and turned around to start cooking, not at all worried about her outfit getting stained. Ethan froze. 'What's this?' He wondered.

"W-what? You're voluntarily going to the lion's den?" He asked in shock. Genesis rolled her eyes. "Well I can't let him starve." She told him and shrugged. "So you're going to cook for him?" Ethan started catching up with her plan.

"Yeah… sorry I'm also having lunch with him." Genesis answered. "Are you going to stand me up for him!" Ethan complained and pouted.

"Now, I wouldn't think about it that way okay? See I need to get something from him that's why I'm being all nice." She answered with a mischievous smile. Ethan frowned. "What are you planning?" He asked, truly curious.

Genesis shrugged. " Didn't they say: The way to a man's heart is through his stomach? Well, I promised his mother I would take care of him. Before I leave, I must also leave a good assistant for him. Can you believe he's planning on doing everything himself? Is he stupid? He won't let me interview other people!" Genesis explained.

"Pfft, What a great excuse that is. Just admit you care for him…" Ethan responded, not even realizing his words. Genesis turned to look at him in surprise. " Of course I don't. I j-just-" The room fell into silence.

Neither of them knew what to say. " Is that a bad thing though? I mean I care about you, I care about a lot of people." Genesis said out of nowhere. "Right…." Ethan himself was surprised. Isn't he supposed to interfere? At that moment he somehow couldn't hate Aiden.

Maybe he is the best for his sister….

Genesis frowned and continued cooking the meal. 'Right….of course, I care. I'm just trying not to care but it's so hard.' She thought, feeling troubled.

A few minutes later she finished making the meal and packed it up in a plastic container. Once she was done she took away her apron and washed her hands. " I smell like food now. I should have cooked before changing…" She mumbled.

" Mmm smells like good food though." Ethan shrugged. Genesis chuckled. " There is some extra food in the microwave, eat it when we come back." She told him and Ethan grinned. "Yes!" He cheered.

" Alright, let's go." Genesis placed the plastic containers with food in a bag and they both got ready to leave.

Entering the cafe Genesis looked around and saw Faith waving at her, she was sitting at a four-person table, in the far corner. Genesis waved back and smiled. She held onto Ethan's arm and together they sat down. " Hey!" Genesis greeted. Faith smiled. "My brother went to get us some drinks." She informed them with a smile. Genesis simply nodded and so did Ethan.

They quickly started talking again and they didn't waste time in trying to catch up. In her thoughts Genesis was glad she agreed to talk with Faith. Even though she doesn't like the idea of being near Andrew at least she has a chance of finding out what she wants.

'Why are you back?' She questioned him in her thoughts. At that moment Andrew came back and placed the drinks in front of them. It so happened that he placed her favorite drink in front of her.

" Iced coffee with extra caramel." He told her with a charming smile.

Genesis facial expression was blank and she didn't react. Despite this, there was a cold glint in her eyes. It disappeared as soon as it came. She gave him one of her fake smiles. "Thank you."
