Her 'date'

'Why are you back?' She questioned him in her thoughts. At that moment Andrew came back and placed the drinks in front of them. It so happened that he placed her favorite drink in front of her.

" Iced coffee with extra caramel." He told her with a charming smile.

Genesis' facial expression was blank and she didn't react. Despite this, there was a cold glint in her eyes. It disappeared as soon as it came. She gave him one of her fake smiles. "Thank you."

*******

Andrew stiffened and he sat down feeling devastated inside. 'That same smile…' He thought. He could never forget that expression on her face. Genesis didn't simply break up with him when she found out he was cheating.

No…

Compared to how she used to be Genesis changed quite a lot. If it were her past self he is sure that Genesis would have hanged him. Instead she kept her distance and didn't lash out at him. He went silent while Genesis and Faith conversated.

He carefully examined her expressions and felt a wave of guilt hit him.

Ethan frowned when he felt the buzzing of his phone through his pocket. He took his phone out and read the message from his assistant. "What happened?" Genesis asked.

Ethan sighed uneasily, knowing he would have to cut his time with his lovely sister short. " I will have to leave…" He informed her with a sad smile. Genesis too sighed and nodded her head in understanding. "Till when?" She asked, referring to when she will be able to see him again. " Two weeks…" He told her.

Genesis nodded and hugged him. " Fine. You better call me." She told him and Ethan agreed. " But like now?" She asked again. "I have a last-minute meeting right now but I'm not leaving till tomorrow morning. You can drop me off at the airport tomorrow yeah?" He asked and Genesis agreed.

Ethan explained to Faith that he would have to take his leave. He narrowed his eyes at Andrew; warning him to keep his distance. " I guess we will have to part for now. I'll call you later." Genesis told Faith. She had no intention of staying near her ex without Ethan around. And it is still not confirmed if she can trust Faith or not.

Faith smiled sadly. "Alright. We can keep talking another time then." Genesis thanked her for understanding. Ethan received a call and sighed. " It seems it's an emergency. My assistant is outside. I'll give you a ride back home." He told Genesis.

"No if you must leave. I can walk home, it's not far." She hugged him and watched Ethan leave. He entered the car, where his assistant was waiting and left.

Genesis smiled and turned to face the pair of siblings. " Okay! I'll take my leave." She told them and grabbed her purse. " Wait!" Andrew interrupted. "Yes?" Genesis asked calmly.

" Can we talk?" He asked. Genesis chuckled. " Don't make this more awkward than it already is." She responded. She was about to walk away when he said something that called her attention. " There's a reason why I'm here. I promise I won't waste your time. It's about your parents." He told her.

Genesis froze. "Brother?" Faith called out in confusion. " Faith, go wait for me in the car," Andrew ordered her. "But-" Faith attempted to interfere.

"Faith!" He called out sternly. Faith bit her lip and obediently walked away. The air around them turned tense. Genesis clenched her jaw and sat down. "Speak." She uttered coldly. Andrew sat in front of her and sighed.

" I didn't want to use this method. I thought you would voluntarily talk to me." He said after a short silence. " Get to the point." She told him, the gentle air around her now gone.

" I know you investigated. Yes I did not have anything to do with your parent's death and I was simply his tool to distract you." He reluctantly admitted. " Andrew…" She warned, getting impatient.

" You need to do a deeper investigation. The car crash isn't any ordinary accident. Every piece of evidence says so but…"He told her quietly. Genesis clenched her fists.

" How do you know this?" She asked, controlling her voice. She made sure to hide her emotions. She refused to show him how nervous she is.

….

Aiden sighed and placed the document in his hands down. He glanced at the empty desk in front of him. He then smiled silently wondering what she's doing. He tapped his fingers on the desk and hesitated. He took out his phone and finally decided to call.

Before he could connect the call someone knocked on his door. "Come in." He spoke and got back to his document. The door opened. Aiden looked up to see who had entered and found Kara in front of him. His lips twitched and he looked back down to his document uninterested in knowing why she suddenly visited him.

"Aiden! I came to ask you out for lunch." Kara told him, smiling brightly. "No need." He answered indifferently.

Kara gritted her teeth. 'It's fine I just need to convince him to come with me. This time you are done, Genesis.'

" I think you will be interested in where we are going. It's a newly opened restaurant. We can greet Genesis on our way there. She's in a cafe across the street from there." Kara spoke up. Aiden frowned. He looked up at her and narrowed his eyes. " How do you know that?" He asked.

'That's not the point!' Kara complained within. " Oh I-I my friend told me she was there. She was with another man. Don't worry even though it looks like they are on a date I'm sure she isn't like….that '' Kara told him trying to divert her attention to Genesis' 'date'.

" A friend?" Aiden asked. He didn't want to come to conclusions about the man Genesis is on a 'date' with. For all he knows it could be her brother, Ethan.

Kara gulped. "Yeah!" She confirmed with an unhealthy amount of confidence. Aiden chuckled. The temperature in the room dropped. Kara took a step back subconsciously and gulped. " Tell me the truth! Do have someone following her!" He shouted.

Kara shook her head and fidgeted with her dress nervously. Aiden got up from his chair and walked towards her. He glared at her. " If I find out you've sent someone to follow her again I will personally make sure you don't see the sunrise again." He threatened her.

"I d-didn't" She shuttered and continued to defend herself. "You might have my grandfather's support but that means nothing to me. Get out!" He told her coldly.

" It's fine if you don't like me YET. But don't accuse me of things I haven't done!" She shouted with tears in her eyes and banged the door close. She hoped this would make him believe she's innocent. Once she was outside gritted her teeth and wiped her tears away.

'It's all her fault! I'll make you regret it.' She thought and stormed out of the building. The employees looked at her weirdly. Some even scoffed at her.
