Protect what's hers

"So what do you say?" Genesis asked after explaining her plan to James. He laughed "As much as I would love to, I will have to pass. I have a shoot right now. Bae should be free though." He declined.

"Mhmm Okay. Good luck!" After she hung up Genesis frowned. 'What's with him? He usually never passes an opportunity to eat my food. Weird, he finally puts his work first. Thank God!' She thought.

She then shrugged and was about to call Bae when her phone rang. Genesis frowned. "Give me a second." She told Aiden and walked further away to take the call.

"What happened?" She asked as soon as she answered. " He's here. They want to empty out your parent's house. Gen you can't let that happen. I know there are still two months left but please stop him!" Jess responded. Her tone was serious and yet desperate this time.

Genesis clenched the phone in her hand. Her eyes turned cold. "I'll be there. Keep this from my brother and I'll meet you there, bring the lawyers." She ordered and hung up. Jess sighed in relief once she heard Genesi' answer.

Thinking of the Smith family Residence being emptied out like that she couldn't help but panic. That's where she spent most of her happy times. She has always been attached to Mr. and Mrs. Smith, they have been nothing but loving and caring with her. An orphan like herself never had the chance to experience what a family is like but after meeting the Smith's she received nothing but their love. Frankly, their deaths took a huge blow on everyone.

Genesis placed her phone away and gave Aiden an apologetic smile. "I guess we will have to leave this for later." She explained. Aiden nodded. "I just got the message, let's go." He told her, lifting up his phone.

Genesis nodded and gave him a thankful smile. "You don't have to. I want to go on my own this time." She told him. Aiden sighed. " Are you sure? There are a lot of memories there…" He told her.

"Don't worry I can handle it this time. I'm not as reckless as I used to be." She defended with a smile. Aiden sighed again. "Fine but take Jay and Nick with you." He told her sternly, referring to the two brothers that work as his bodyguards.

"Mhmm I will." She responded. Aiden seemed hesitant but reluctantly agreed. He walked towards her and held her arm. "It's fine if I just watch from far, right?" He asked with a grin. Genesis chuckled. "That- I guess that's okay then." She replied.

"Do please give me a show." He requested.

Genesis and Aiden drove in his car to the Smith Family Residence. Behind them Jay and Nick were in another car. Around them were the other two cars that are always behind Aiden whenever he decides to drive on his own.

Genesis was looking out the window with her hands formed into fists. She looked calm and collected but deep down she shook in fear. Images of the past kept coming to the surface. She just couldn't stop thinking about it.

She sighed and shook her thoughts away for the 30th time. She felt Aiden's hands over hers and she relaxed. Her fingers slowly opened and she felt herself coming back to reality. There was a tingle in her heart and she felt sparks from the tip of her fingers. She didn't move her gaze from the window but she smiled.

Aiden intertwined their fingers and held onto her hand tightly understanding she was thinking of her past. He also didn't turn to look at her and focused on the road. He felt the need to comfort her. Even if a holding her hand didn't seem much to him he hoped this would help her relax.

Unknownst to him, his touch did exactly that and even more then what words can express.

A few minutes later they finally arrived. Genesis took a look at the private property and sighed. They took the separate road to the property and met with a gate. She saw Jess in a business suit and another woman and men by her side. They are her lawyers which she hasn't seen in a while.

BehindJess two guards were also waiting, they came forward and opened the gate for her. The car's parked in line and Jay with his brother came out. They waited outside Aiden's car expecting Genesis to come out.

" I'll be watching," Aiden told her with a teasing smile. Genesis shook her head and took her seatbelt off. " Mmm don't worry I'll handle it well" She replied with a smirk.

"Don't scare him away too easily." He suggested. " Of course I won't. The more confident he is in himself the harder he will get slapped in the face." She responded. Aiden nodded. "You learned well." He complimented.

Genesis chuckled. "From the best!" She responded and got up. She closed the car door and sent him a wink. With her phone in her hand she examined her surroundings; the spacious garden in front of the mansion. There were some leaves on the ground and the grass had grown a lot more.

So far there have not been many people taking care of the house. Except for the inside nobody dared to touch the garden. Genesis and her mother's favorite place...

Her smile disappeared and her back naturally straightened. She walked towards Jess and gave her a nod. Both Jay and Nick followed behind her and Jess with her lawyers joined. Genesis walked up the stairs of her own home. She felt a sudden warmth in her heart as she once again stepped foot in her old home.

The silver and glass doors opened when Genesis pushed them open with both hands. The sound of the doors opening startled the people inside. It had been pretty quiet inside and the atmosphere was tense so when the doors opened it caught everyone's attention.

Genesis gave a charming smile to everyone inside. " How's it been?" She asked. "Miss me?" She added. Contrast of her smiling face there was bloodlust in her eyes.

The people inside responded with silence. Genesis kept smiling and entered the enormous living room. She sat down in one of the empty sofas and crossed her legs. " Uncle….You should have informed me that you would come visit earlier." She spoke.

Mr.Smith frowned. Beside him in the coach was his wife on the left and on his right his son. In front of him were his brother and sister-in-law's lawyer. He was in the middle of bribing him to get the largest property he had yet to take from his brother.

If only she didn't show up. He thought she would be too distracted with the Millers that she wouldn't pay attention to him. After witnessing his niece self-destruct herself mentally and physically he didn't expect to see her again. In his eyes, she had been a coward and ran off to the Miller's for protection. This was neither good nor bad for his plans. Since she left it became easier to take his brother's assets and properties. But it also stopped him from ending her influence as the heiress of the Smith family.

How can he end her if she isn't even present? Once she left the battlefield, he had to be even more careful because he has the Miller's watching him. Although he secretly managed to still accomplish a few things it still isn't enough to fully be victorious.

"Why are you here?" He asked not bothering to sound like a caring uncle. That facade has long been over. The moment Genesis found out about Andrew and his role in his schemes there was no need for pretending.

"Why can't I be here?" Genesis asked solemnly ' I obviously came to protect what's mine' She thought.
