She's letting her guard down

She felt someone hugging her from behind. " Don't think about that. It hurts to see you thinking about that time again." She heard him mumble.

Genesis was stunned. At first, she was very angry at her brother and Jason because they had informed Aiden of what had happened but now she is thankful for that. She nodded and turned around to face him. She thanked him and leaned on his shoulder. Aiden was surprised but he placed his hand on her waist and embraced her.

Finally, let go of him because she felt embarrassed about being in his hold for so long but he pushed her back in his arms. He kissed the top of her head and then let go of her. " Let's go grab some lunch." He told her. He didn't let her reject and held her hand. Genesis sighed and didn't bother to reject him

When they walked out of the meeting room together Chris was outside. "Assistant Gen!" He called out with a handsome smile on his face. Genesis smiled lightly and let go of Aiden's hands. Aiden narrowed his eyes at her and placed his hand in his pockets.

He felt like after he made their relationship official she would make him keep it a secret. Being all sneaky didn't suit him so he was very displeased with the stunt she just pulled.

" May I talk with you?" Chris asked and Genesis nodded her head but then shook her head when she felt Aiden's glare. "Is it urgent? I kinda have something to do." She explained and glanced at Aiden who was already walking away after confirming that she rejected him.

"It is," Chris responded. He scratched his neck nervously. "I don't know if you took notice but I'm the one who has been sending you chocolates and flowers every day. It wasn't until today that I felt brave enough to confess." He told her with a blush.

Genesis lifted her eyebrows in surprise. If he weren't confessing it to her she would have never believed him since she has always seen him very distant. She was even more surprised when she saw him blushing.

When he heard his words Aiden stopped in his tracks with a frown.

" The truth is that I like you." He concluded and looked at her with hope in his eyes. Genesis gulped. He looked so cute and innocent that she felt bad. Two years ago she would have rejected him coldly but now she isn't as heartless as before.

"I-" She sighed not knowing what to say. "I'm sorry but I can't reciprocate your feelings because I have a boyfriend." She replied. Chris laughed. "Assistant Gen, How can I believe you when I have never heard of you dating anyone. If you have a boyfriend why doesn't he come and pick you up after work and take you out to lunch?" He asked.

"Everyone in the building knows you're single. You don't have to lie just to reject me." He continued.

Genesis bit her lip decisively. "No I'm not lying I-"

" Mr. Wilson she already told you she has a boyfriend." Aiden interrupted. Chris frowned. "I'm her boyfriend." He continued and wrapped his hands around her waist. Genesis laughed nervously.

Chris looked at her to confirm things and Genesis modded. Chris lifted his eyebrows in shock. His boss and the woman he likes are together? He had heard the secretaries murmuring about how Genesis and Aiden would make a great pair but he never expected it because everyone knew how Aiden is.

"Ah.." He didn't say anything and walked away with failure. How could he ever compete with someone like Aiden? He thought.

Genesis pursed her lips feeling bad for him. Aiden humphed and walked away. Genesis followed behind him with a pout on her lips.

Entering his office Genesis sighed. "Don't feel bad for him." She heard Aiden tell her. " It's better if he knows the truth ahead of time. Or else I wouldn't mind firing him." He casually started glare at him.

" Just because of that?" She asked. " Yes." He replied and collected his things. "Ready?" He asked and Genesis grabbed her purse. "Sure." She replied, still feeling bad for Chris. Aiden sighed. "Okay. I wouldn't fire him but I wouldn't tolerate it either. I think I made it clear that you're mine right?" He asked and his tone was very possessive.

Genesis chuckled and patted his shoulder. " I'm not yours until you get rid of all your leeches. Before that, you can forget about it, sweetheart." She told him, highlighting the word 'sweetheart' as she adjusted his tie.

Aiden frowned. "Leeches? I don't even like them." He defended himself. "Exactly. I don't like everyone who likes me but what can I do?" She shrugged and exited the office leaving him stunned.

'Damn it!' He sighed and made a mental note about it. He then followed behind her and they both entered the private elevator.

Inside the elevator, Genesis pondered about how comfortably she was acting around him. She shrugged it off and pressed the first floor. " Okay, so what's the alternation you were talking about?" She asked.

"Remember Ian Chase?" He asked. "Your previous assistant?" She responded with a question and Aiden nodded. " He quit because he and his wife decided to take care of their first child abroad. He mentioned he's coming back next week and I mentioned you to him." Aiden explained.

"So he's willing to come back.." She concluded and Aiden nodded. Genesis patted herself in the shoulder feeling proud of making the deal with Aiden. This was very beneficial to her because earlier she was worried that her replacement would be a woman.

Aiden who noticed her small action chuckled. "I see.." He told her. "Hmm? Did you say something?" She asked. " Yes. Let's go to your house, I remember you owe me a meal." He answered and pretended not to have realized anything.

" No can do Mr. President you have a meeting to attend right after lunch." She replied and they exited the elevator in sync. " Fine. Let's just go to a nearby restaurant." He replied and checked his phone. " Our bodyguards will follow." He informed her and Genesis nodded. " My car or your car?" She asked. " Yours is closer." He pointed towards hers and Genesis nodded.

She took out her car keys and pressed the button. She unlocked her car and sat on the driver's seat. She then opened the door for him and Aiden entered her car. He silently thought about her actions and found himself with chuckles of amusement.

"What are you laughing at?" She questioned suspiciously. " No nothing. I'm just hungry." He replied.

Genesis was not even realizing how casual she talked to him. The formality and professional talk he did with him all the time was slowly disappearing. She was finally letting her guard down and he would make perfect use of the opportunity.
