=PART-1

One month had paseed since the academy had started.

Currently, Asuma was standing in front of Minato Namikaze, and they were being observed by the rest of their class.

Their Sensei was standing on the side. After a while, he looked at the both of them, and spoke, "Ok. Get ready.!".

In reply, Asuma and Minato did a sign of confrontation towards each other.

Then, the Sensei raised his hand, and brought it down in a swift motion while shouting, "Begin", and retreated backwards.

If this was a full on battle with Ninjutsu and Genjutsu included, then the opponents would usually back off and observe each other, but this was a full on Taijutsu battle, so both Asuma and Minato charged at each other.

Minato began the offensive with a punch to the face, using his left hand.

But Asuma dodged towards the left of Minato by sidestepping, and thus creating some distance between them.

Distance just enough for a kick.

But Asuma deliberately did not kick Minato, instead, Minato instinctively shifted his legs and did a hook kick.

This was exactly what Asuma wanted. He shifted in this position so that Minato would either do a hook kick, or would be punched in the face by him instead.

Normally, if one wants to kick their opponent from the side, they would instinctively do the roundhouse kick, but Asuma shifted his position slightly at the back of Minato, so he instinctively used his left leg to do a hook kick, thus leaving himself open for the duration of that kick.

Asuma, who deliberately did not make a move when he had the advantage, now had plenty of time to catch Minato's kick.

Asuma kicked Minato's right leg from behind, and used his weight to smash Minato hard on the ground with a shoulder throw.

While in the air, Minato tried to use both his free hands to lessen the impact, but Asuma twisted his leg at the last moment, thus shifting his position and successfully smashing him on the ground.

Given Asuma's superior physical abilities, Pokémon Minato was unable to battle.

This was the first time Asuma and Minato fought, but not the first time they had a Taijutsu duel in the academy.

In fact, there was a Taijutsu class every day, and Minato and Asuma were the top of their class.Today's match was held to decide, who among them was better in Taijutsu.

As for Ninjutsu and Genjutsu, it had only been a month, so these subjects were not yet taught.

It should be pointed out that even clan hairs, like Fugaku, Hiashi, Hizashi, Ino-Shika-Cho, Tsume, and the rest were also in the same class as them, yet they had been bested by the two, regardless.

Granted that no clan members were allowed to use their clan abilities in the Taijutsu duels, since it would defeat the whole purpose, these clan heirs had been trained since they were three years old. It was extraordinary that Minato could beat them. After all, he was just an orphan.

Minato was a genius, and now that the opportunity had presented itself, Asuma wanted to make a good use of that fact.

After all, Minato wasn't yet noticeable to the village higher ups. No matter how much of the genius he was, he was still in the academy.Third Hokage had gone to the frontlines, and Danzo was doing his best to establish the root organisation.

It wasn't yet time for the new recruits. Firstly he had to worry about the funds, and establishing connections within various forces. Now that he was finally managing the village, Danzo wanted to get the most benefits out of it.

He also had to support the battlefield, and make sure to secure his Hokage position in the future by bringing the newly established village council to his side. All in all, Danzo was too busy to worry about some talented brat still in the academy, thus leaving room for Asuma to maneuver around this situation to his desired outcome.

After that last fight, everyone started to converse with each other as they went back to the classroom, for the history lesson.

=PART-2

On the evening of the same day, Asuma was walking down the street, heading for the apartments in the downtown area.

It seemed that the Konoha forces had achieved a small victory on the frontlines, so the village was celebrating it with a Fair.

It was hard for Asuma to find an opportunity to get out of his house during such an event because his clan was celebrating too, but he managed to escape after promising that he would be back within half an hour.

The traffic was usually at its peak at this hour and due to the Fair, it was overwhelming. The market was bustling with people walking around and looking for various reasons to join the lively crowds.

Asuma walked past them and entered one of the two-story houses that did not look as well maintained as the rest around it.

This was the house of Jonin, Saeko Todo. She lived here alone since she had no family.

Asuma had met her only by accident before, but thanks to that encounter, he got the idea of using her chakra signature to gain entry into the library.

She was a nice woman with a great sense of justice, and a firm believer of the will of fire, and even though Asuma never believed any of that crap, he still appreciated Saeko.

As he trained while growing up, there was a limit to how much he could hide, so his parents managed to see his extraordinariness. They tried to impose their ideologies onto him, hoping that Asuma would turn out to be a great asset to the village after growing up.

Everyone else called him, 'Honerable son', and recognized him only because of his father, but Saeko talked to him like a person, as an equal. Asuma really missed that.

So when the time came, he simply asked for her chakra, rather than using some underhanded method. He even promised her that he would make sure that she would walk again.

Saeko herself, was overwhelmed by emotions at the time. Considering that Asuma seemed much more mature than children his age, she perhaps just assumed that he needed her chakra to do his research to help her walk again, so she complied with his request.

As time passed, after three months of studying Fuinjutsu on his own, and a month of studying under the greatest Fuinjutsu master in this era, Asuma had finally managed to create a prosthetic leg for Saeko.

This leg was made out of wood, with some iron parts in the joints. It used chakra as a fuel to move, and once installed, it was no different than a real leg, accept for the fact that it had no sense of touch, and consumed the chakra of the user to work.

This leg used the basic force equation, 'F=ma.', to move, and he even used some seals to reduce its weight.

Asuma didn't know which spinal nerves were responsible for the movement of the leg, so he created a small tag that would be placed near the sciatic nerve. It would adjust and debug itself during many trials and errors, ultimately discovering the right set of signals for the leg to move in coordination with the intention of its user.

Just as Asuma was about to knock on the door, his hand was stopped by a loud crashing sound coming from inside the house.

It wasn't the sound of an object hitting the floor for being dropped by a clumsy person, since in those cases, there would be an after-sound of it either bouncing back up and hitting the floor again, or sliding forward with its weight.

Instead, this sound was like a wooden chair forcefully being smashed on the floor, and with his superior sences, Asuma even detected a slight smell of blood, which alarmed him.

The people on the street did not notice anything due to the hustle and bustle of the Fair, so Asuma went to the other side of the house, towards the window to check it out.

The window was closed, but not locked. Asuma slightly pushed it open, and was able to see what was happening inside.
