Sera

Inside the basement, Jonh was off the wheelchair as he tried to walk again. It didn't take long before his weak legs we're able to be stable. John started doing light exercises since he thought that would help with mobility.

The plain basement now had gigantic scorch marks litter everywhere. There were some small holes here and there as well. John was just surprised the whole floor didn't just cave in. "I guess it's time to deal with this mess," John muttered as he took out his phone.

"Hey, Alfred there seems to be a problem. I accidentally made a big hole in the floor. Can you get someone to fix it?"

"Well, it's an accident. I don't know what to tell you, Alfred."

"Can you just hurry up and get someone here?"

"Thank you. Also, cancel the physical therapist. " John hangs up without giving Alfred a chance to nag him.

It was already 8 pm when John decided to go upstairs and have a fresh shower. When he got out it was already night time. John decided to eat dinner because he was starving after not eating anything for the whole day.

John got into a 488 Spider and drove to a suburban part of the city. There he got off in front of a quiet diner. The sign on top of the door read "Seras' Diner."

The diner was small but the interior was well lit and cozy. John stepped in and like always he caught everyone's attention. "John?!" a female voice said rang out.

Before he could react, a soft fragrant body was embracing him. John smiled and returned the embrace. They separated after a bit.

"Nice to see you too Sera," John said with a big smile.

"You idiot! I was so worried when I heard about you. When did you get out of the hospital?" She asked.

"Just this morning. I wanted to surprise you." it wasn't a lie since john really planned to see her today.

"I'll make your favorite meal why dont you go sit." She said as she rushed into the kitchen.

John sat at a nice corner and waited for Sera to bring his meal. Sera was John's best friend ever since they were in high school. They went through a lot together and they knew everything about each other. After highschool John worked at his family company while Sera followed her dreams and opened up a diner.

It was just a joke at first but who would know she actually went with it. It was just the way sera was, spontaneous and very outgoing. She was very different from him who was quiet and aloof most of the time.

"Here you go." sera came back with his meal after a while. "I went to visit you in the hospital but you weren't awake yet," Sera said as she sat across from him.

"oh, Alfred didn't tell me," John said as he was eating.

"So tell me what you were doing in that alleyway," Sera said with a mischievous smile.

John froze when he heard her question. He didn't know how to tell her. "Dont you have customers to serve?" John asked as he tried to change the subject.

"Megan's doing that" Sera replied.

"Oh. Megan still works here? how is she?"

"John you've never even greeted Megan so dont even try to change the subject." Sera rolled her eyes at him.

"hehe." John laughed nervously. "Fine. I was trying to lose my virginity." his voice decrescendo to a whisper.

"hahaha." Sera started laughing when she heard him.

"Stop. Stop laughing before I shove this piece of ham into your mouth." John threatens but it only made her laugh harder.

"Oh, Johnny boy. How pitiful." She said jokingly.

'Yeah, pitiful indeed.' John continued eating as they conversed. After a good while later John drove back home.

When he pulled into his driveway he was surprised to so an unfamiliar SUV parked on the side. John was immediately on alert. He took out his phone ready to call the cops when the door of the SUV opened.

Out of the passenger side, a man in a blue suit walked out. He looked like a professional bodybuilder. As the man came closer, John felt like he was extremely familiar but he couldn't recall where he had seen him.

John rolled down the window and the man said, " Mr. Revear I'm an FBI agent I would like to have a few words about your recent accident. " The man even took out his badge.

"At 10pm ?" John asked skeptically.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience but it is an urgent matter." The man said expressionlessly.

"I guess it must be very urgent. Well then come inside." John got out the car walked towards the house.

When John opened the door a strong burnt smell assaulted his nose. That's when John remembered his little 'accident' from the morning.

"I hope you didn't mind the smell. Also please be careful where you step." John said with an embarrassed smile as he led the man inside.

What John didn't notice was the weird expression on the man's face when he came into the house.
