A master plan (pt.2)

"No way, that's a family reli—" she shut her mouth with both hands, as if she was trying to take the words she just said back.

A pleasant surprise. I was gonna grab that ring and sell it for a bit of cash, but I instantly changed my mind. If it's a family relic, it's bound to be enchanted, so I'll just take it to get stat boost. It's not like I don't have the ability to take it off. If I don't need it anymore, I can just sell it for a ton of money.

I almost feel sorry for the princess.

Almost is the key word here.

~~half an hour later~~

After a had a bit of a conversation with the princess, I signed some boring slave ownership papers. I also learned about an ability I have, it's called [inventory]. Very self explanatory I think. So the way it works is the following: each time I level up, the amount of weight that I'm allowed to store in it increased by 100 grams. Since I'm level 1, I'm only able to store 100 grams. Also, you can control the speed of time in the inventory. Each level allows you to slow down or speed up the time by 1%. In other words, if your is level is 100, then time will not move inside the storage. You can also make it move faster.

That's useful if you, for example, if you want your soup to cool down faster. Umm, I can't think of their uses for it.

Oh well, I'm sure it will come in handy some day.

I am now outside of the castle, breathing fresh air for once. And my slave, Lime, is following me. She is still chained up, and I'm not going to release the her until I'm sure that she won't try to attack me.

This world doesn't have a slave mark, which is what forces your slaves to follow your command, and even if it did, all it does is inflict pain. Lime has an ability which makes her feel almost no pain, so that wouldn't work either.

"Hey, Lime, I think you might fall unconscious if you don't eat anything, and I don't want to have to carry you around." Is what I say, but even though it doesn't bother me too much, I still have some conscience.

I'm not gonna show mercy to those who trouble me, but I suppose, if she is my companion, I may as well treat her better than that sadistic princess.

She didn't say a thing, although I bet she wouldn't mind to have some grub. So would I actually.

"Come on now, I has to go through quite a lot of effort to get you out of that hole, you can at least pretend to be enjoying the walk." Even though I said it as a joke, partially I do mean it. The people around me are gonna think that I'm the one who tortured her.

She has the face of someone who doesn't give a damn about what's going on, giving people an opportunity to point their finger at me and say that I broke her mentality.

Of course, slaves are treated a lot worse than free people, but torture is considered unethical.

I managed to pull that information out of the princess.

We go into the cheapest inn I can find, because in the end, I only managed to get a bit of money from Ms sadist. I did, however get the ring and some jewelry from her, so I can sell the jewelry and wear the ring for stats, but more on that later.

"I'd like to stay for one night, a singe person room, and also an extra leather sheet for her". I'm talking to a buff man, and I swear that something is wrong with buff guys doing things like running shops or watching the door.

It just feels too weird. Well, nothing much to make of it.

You know the saying, that when you are hungry, everything tastes good?

Well that's complete bull. This food is disgusting even though I'm starving, but I have no choice but to eat it. I want to get used to living in harsh conditions, after all.

Another good thing about Lime is that she wasn't shy to eat when I told her to. Obedience, I think, is the right term here. If I did't tell her to eat, she would have stayed on the chair, staring at the food.

Since I still have some time before it's dark, I told Lime to stay at home and went out to trade my jewels. Well, technically they're not mine, but let's ignore that.

I traded them for a shield with a [taunt] rune. Taunts are the cheapest of ability tunes, because people haven't come up with a good strategy to use them, unlike me.

I also got 2 basic daggers for myself.

Another thing I stocked up on is a load of broken knives, that I bought from a blacksmith. He was the kind of guy to only sell high quality stuff, so he gave me the broken ones away almost for free.

The last thing I got is a map, to navigate myself outside the city, where the mobs spawn.

Everything is ready for tomorrow.

Now, I just need to get a good night's sleep.
