[Chilling touch] Level Up!

C- => B-

"Hooh, that's a huge jump in ability levels." It really is. Usually, abilities increase by one rank, for exmple a C- to C, C to C+, and so on.

Analytic thinking also lvelled up, and that is one of the strongest abilities there are. In fact, I'd say that it's one of the few reasons why I win all of those fights even though they are not advantageous towards me.

It's almost like slowing down time, and the only thing that doesn't get slowed down is my brain, giving me a lot of extra time to think and plan my next move. Of course, it doesn't actually manipulate time, but rather makes my own brain work faster when needed.

Hm, anyways, let's chech my stats and see what other changes have been made.

Strength of the weak S-

(Corrupted skill)

Analytic thinking D+

"Not much has changed. Wait, I still don't know what strength of the weak does despite it being an S- ability." I opened up the information about this ability, but suddenly heard a stream of air flow by my hand.

It was a wind-type arrow, and I ended up having to use the status plate as a shield to block it, otherwise it would have pierced my stomach. The status plate shattered, so I guess I will check what the ability does another day.

I hid behind a thick tree, and started with a question.

"Whoever fired the arrow, come here and let me beat your ass!" Of course, that kind of provocation won't work, unless the person is an absolute moron..

I heard light foosteps heading in my direction. Haha, so they really did listen to me. Well, they are either really dumb, or strong enough not to feel the need to hide. Let's find out.

The tree which I was hiding behind just made a weird noise, and a second after I saw it start to tilt. Oh, that noise wasn't a tree. It was the sound of someone slashing the tree in half.

"So, It was the second one." I said with a sigh. My hand was holding onto the scroll, so that in case of emergency I could just teleport out of here instantly.

"What? No, nevermind that. Why is there a kid in a place like this? Where are your parent boy?" It was a girl. No, not quite.

There was one thing differentiating her from any other girl I've seen so far.

"That's a new way not to die added to the book - getting killed by a catgirl." I said with a laugh. I've never seen a person with cat ears before, but I guess that's how beast-people look.

"Huh? What do you mean? Just give me an answer already!" She was being impatient, but it's understandable, considering that I look like anything but a fighter, and am standing alone in this considerably dangerous place.

To be fair though, this girl doesn't look very warrior-like herself. Or that's what I though until che sliced that tree in half like it's nothing. You would need around 40 strength, plus a sharp and durable sword to do that.

She wasn't very tall, and her hair was a mix of bright yellow and red. Or would it be considered as fur? Also, does she have human and cat ears, or just the cat ones? You know, those are the questions that I really need aswers to, but never actually get any.

"Me? Oh, I'm just getting some dragon crystals form those wyverns." I said and shrugged.

"You can't do that!" She exclaimed.

"What, why? The quality of the crystals is very good, you can go and check for yourself if you don't believe me." As I said that, I pulled out a crystal from my inventory and showed it to her.

"Whoa! That's a real draconic crystlal. Where did you get that from?" She was surprised, but at the same I could see hints of doubt in her expression. She probably though that I got bright yellow piece of glass and put something glowing inside.

Well, that's actually sounds like a good way to scam some people.

"From this guy over there." I pointed my finger towards the corpse of the wyvern which was around 20 meters away from here.

"No way.. you? You killed that thing? On your own? That isn't even funny." She was shocked to see the corpse, but I was a little confused about something.

How did she know that I was the to kill him? I've never told her that.

Unless?

"Hey, you! Do cats have a strong sense of smell?" I asked her, to which she nodded.

I see, so she was still too shocked about the sight to question why I asked something so weird.

But it makes sense, if you thing about it. She sensed the smell of that wyvern's blood on my body - and the opposite.

Since I don't want to have anything to do with some random person, I headed towards the wyvern and started taking out some of the meat.

Because the wyvern is a lightning type, tiny impulses of electricity flow throughout the meat. Sunset my level is decently high, I doubt even notice it, but the electricity is enough to kill all the bacteria that would normally spread on meat.

In other words, the meat will stay edible until all of the electricity is completely dispersed - that's 2 to 3 year's worth of time.

Of course, moisture will still inevitably evaporate from the meat, so the best option is to make some jerky out of it.
