The ultimate weapon.

"That's.. unfair." I looked at the stupidly high jump in the kitchen knife's status.

And that's the effect after only sharpening the knife once with a stone. A single stone increased the values by that much.. Well, it's safe to assume most of the effect came from the dexterity multiplier. Does that mean this kitchen knife is a better weapon than Blood?

I picked it up and sliced a tree, and, to no surprise, it split the tree in half without any sort of resistance. If I didn't see the tree, I would have thought that I've just swung it through the air. What's impressive is that no scratches were left on it either, so I can probably use this in battle.

My hands were itching to test it out on a boss, but there are still a few upgrades to be made.

~~~
I resisted the temptation to go slice everything I can see, and instead, I went back to the workbench and picked up the second block. It was a metal block, probably aluminium. I replaced the stone block with it, and now I was ready to sharpen the blade once more, this time for a more fine finish.
Hmm, so "points of contact reduced" has an effect on the damage after the second sanding. Great, even more damage.
[yes]
Just like the last time, the knife flew into the air and started sanding itself against the block, which was attached to the workbench. The timer counted down from 20 instead of 10 minutes this time, because the work is a lot finer, so it has to be more precise, I think.
Well, while I let it do its thing for 20 minutes, I might as well start making some new clothes. I've been wearing leather and other kinds of torn up pieces of clothing for a while, so I think a cloak would be the perfect outfit, as I'm used to wearing one in battle.
First of all, my cloak would have to go down to knee height, with a split at the front. The split will go all the way up so that it doesn't take much effort to equip and doesn't reduce my mobility by getting in the way.
There aren't many colorful dyes here, so I might just have to settle with black, but we'll see about that. I'm gonna add a scarf that can be extended and worn like a hood, in case I need to hide my face for whatever reason, and also because I love the coziness of scarves.
I guess I'll have to add sleeves to the cloak so that I can move my hands freely. As for their length - just long enough to hide my hands, for the purpose of hiding anything suspicious.
I'll make them kinda thin, simply for comfort, and with a wide end, so that I can hold anything without the sleeve's thin shape interfering.
"It's gonna be great." I was settled on the design and functionality of the cloak, and now I just had to actually make it.
That process will come later because right now, I have more immediate things to worry about.
I looked up at the knife, and there was no timer above it anymore. The twenty minutes sure passed by quickly.
Nice. Now, it's time to refine it one last time, and then I can do some testing. I've got one more important question that needs to be answered once the last sanding is done.
I replaced the block with a new one, and I can't even tell what it's made off. The surface is very smooth, yet if you look closely you can see tiny grooves evenly imprinted into the material. The world's current technology probably can't make something like that, so I'm gonna guess it's made with the help of magic.
Hell yeah.
[yes]
The timer shows 40 minutes this time. Now's my chance to start gathering the materials to make my cloak. I'll have to scavenge around the town to find them.
~~~

Finally, the timer ticked its last tick, and I was able to pick up the knife. Taking a good look at it, it wasn't just the stats that improved, but the appearance of the blade was different as well. It was a bit shiny now, and a lot cleaner, obviously.

The wooden handle could probably be improved as well. Having tried to sand the handle, it didn't work, but I did find another possible method to improve the knife.

It was two small cans, one labeled "metal", and one "wood". I tried applying the "metal" cream to the blade, and the usual notification popped up.

Having said "yes", the timer which popped up once again now read 80 minutes. It seems like every new upgrade to the knife takes twice the time to apply.

80 minutes later, I did the same with the "wood" labeled cream.

160 minutes; so I was right. During the waits, I've gathered all the necessary materials to make the cloak, and tomorrow I'm gonna start working on its creation.

Why tomorrow? Because I have a new monstrously powerful weapon to test out.

"Haha, now if this isn't good enough to one-hit-kill the next boss, I'm gonna be utterly disappointed." I fumbled with it in my hand for a bit and accidentally cut my finger.

"What the-.. fuck, that hurts." The knife went right through my finger, and I twitched my hand from surprise, which led to me slicing my left hand clean off.

I chugged a healing potion and my hand grew back, but it was still an awful experience. Yeah, I still can't endure pain too well.

Still slightly shocked, I picked up my severed hand with the one I just grew back. Let's see how delicious I am.

I teleported to Blood.
