Clover's Urgency

On the second-floor balcony at the Clover's residence, Michael stood with his cellphone pressed against his ears. The wind blew softly against his short hair, trying to relieve the tension between his brows. Leaning his entire weight on his right leg, his free arm hugged around his waist.

Under the starry night, the man's attention was not on the scenery nor the beautiful garden below. Instead, he was listening to his underling's report about Justin and Justin's father. Out of all the ways, he could end his day; he did not want to bother with this father and son duo. Unfortunately, Justin's father had made a move, so he had to care.

Hence, he could not leave things as it is. He left a short pause of silence after his underling had finished reporting the incident to him. Then, his lips tilted upwards as if he had already expected the sequence of events to happen this way. "Let that little dick get excited when he still can. Keep an eye on him and his pea-sized brain father."

Shortly after giving further instructions to his subordinate, he hung up the call. After completing a short call with Jason, he walked leisurely back to the living room. At the living room, Eric was stirring Rosanna's passionfruit fruit tea with her favorite rose gold spoon.

Seeing Michael's figure walking down the steps, Rosanna patted the empty space to her right. "Come, Michael. Sit here."

"Mom, I'll sit next to you later. First, I want to ask a few questions. Are you two planning to have Selina move in with you?" He took a seat across from the loving couple.

With a solemn expression on their faces, Rosanna nodded. "Of course. As the daughter of the Clover family, we can't have her live at Jason's place when she doesn't have a title yet. Although it is a bit unfair, but I did ask Jason twice before cancelling the engagement. I'm still waiting for him to show some sincerity in taking Selina as his wife."

"Yeah, about that...I don't suggest Selina moving in with you two anytime soon. I just received a call, and Justin escaped the cell. I've already expected Justin's father's quick action, but you don't have to worry. Although the dog is on the loose, I have it under control. I've already spoken to Bryan and Jason about this. They've agreed to play along with my plan."

Michael explained the details to his parents as their bodies stiffened on the couch. With a frown on his face, Eric brought up his question. "So, we can't reunite with Selina? We've prepared the whole second floor for her. I also have five credit cards ready for her to shop until she gets tired."

"Dad, it's not that you can't reunite with her. Just that now is not the right time. Plus, didn't you two tell me the reason why you sent both of us away when we were kids? Even though the reasoning sounded lame and unbelievable, but such stupid humans exist. Therefore, we need be extremely cautious."

Studying his parent's facial expressions, obvious displease was written across their faces. Sighing, he tried consoling them. "I know. I know. You two have been looking for us, and you want us to have family time. But it is only temporary. Once we have Justin and his father under our hands, then we can go on a vacation together."

Rosanna pouted her lips and stared resentfully at her husband. "Hmph, vacation? I am fine with your arrangements, but your father owes me many vacations." Bringing her purse over to her lap, she dug her pretty manicured fingers inside and took out a stack of bookmarks sized slips.

"These are the vacation slips your father personally signed but never used with me. Every time we went to different places across the world, he would end up stuck with work. Then, we have like half an hour to eat our meals together. This heartless man really thinks I'm soft-hearted to hear his reasons every time." She shook her head and shrugged with her eyes closed.

Eric tried snatching the paper slips out of her small hands, but failed as she stuffed them back in her combination locked purse. Sticking out her tongue, she arched her left eyebrow. "I'm listening to Michael's suggestion. What do you think, the hubby who owes his wife a lifetime amount of vacation?"

"I...I think it is fine too. I'll go with what you choose." Eric could see his pillow and blanket getting thrown out of his room if he made things difficult for his son. For their children's safety, he could only smile and agree with the planned arrangements.

"Wait. But how would the plan work out? I mean you and Selina are still..." Rosanna's voice trailed off as she felt her husband's elbow knocking lightly against his. Ever since Michael came back from answering the call, he had a lopsided smirk sitting on his confident face.

"Well, they can't lay their hands on me. As for Selina, I've already talked to Jason about it." While his parents were stuck in a daze, he took the cup of fruit tea from his father's side and tasted the sweetness of it.

Licking his lips, he looked up and let out a chuckle. "Don't worry. I won't sell my little sister like that. I can't take away my parents hobby of tangling with our youngster's hearts. So, mom can help set up Selina's outfit while dad can plan the perfect setting. I have a few lists sitting in your mailboxes. Check your private emails and figure everything out. I trust your efficiency."

Immediately after hearing his hint, they took out their cellphones and clicked into their mailboxes. The subject line of the email made the couple's furrowed brows disappear instantly.

"Oh! This is much better! Hehe. Don't worry. Let mom handle it!" Rosanna coughed from patting her chest with too much strength. At the same time, Eric let out a small smile at his tasks. He rubbed his wife's back before nodding in response.

Another question popped up in his head. Looking up, he asked. "But even if this is done, it's only Selina. What about you? You're still..."

Lifting his index finger to his lips, Michael smiled. "I'll tell you guys when we catch those bastards."
