Fresh Brewed Coffee

Selina held her forehead as she heard the doctor's footsteps roaming back and forth in her room. Every single medical term coming out of the doctor's mouth was putting her to sleep. All she wanted to hear was the word "discharge" from the doctor's mouth.

Cupping her cheeks in her palms, she tilted her head sideways to look at Jason with pitiful eyes. She was screaming inwardly for when the doctor would finish her talk. It's been nearly twenty minutes since she's been talking about vitamins! She only suffered a few scratches and bruises. Suddenly, she became their lab experiment!

She hated listening to long medical terms that doesn't exist in her dictionary. Hooking her left pinky with Jason's right pinky, she pursed her lips and shook her head slightly. When he pretended to not catch her SOS message, she started drawing angry faces on his palms with her fingertip.

'He really likes playing with my patience, huh! Heh, just when I thought I would let you off. No way will I give you an easy way out anymore! Hmph!' Selina thought about her plan from a few nights ago. Taking out her phone from the side of her blanket, she sent a text to her mom who was right across the room.

A vibration from Rosanna's purse distracted her from the doctor's explanation. When she saw Selina's name on her screen, she took a quick peek at her daughter. Seeing her widened smile, Rosanna knew it wasn't something good. How did she know? Because that was the same face she makes when she has some kind of thought in mind.

Unlocking her phone, she read the message with parted lips. Her lips twitched as she blinked rapidly at her daughter. Since it was her daughter's request, she complied immediately and purchased what Selina needed.

"Done." She replied to the message and nodded to Selina.

Biting down on her bottom lip, Selina felt waves of excitement crashing her thoughts. A blissful smile appeared on her luminous skin. Her dimples deepened on her cheeks as she retracted her pinky from his hand.

Though everyone saw the change in her expressions, they didn't mention it. Finally, the doctor signed the discharge papers in her hands and handed it to her parents.

"Yay!" She cheered, standing up in a hasty manner. Her arms were spread and knees were bent, looking as if she was playing airplane with elementary kids. Turning her head around the room, she saw everyone's eyes staring at her. Jason sighed, knelt down and waved his hands.

"In case you trip on air or roll down the halls, I'm piggyback riding you all the way home."

Selina smiled, "Oh, okay! Mom, dad, are you two going home after this? What about you, big brother?" She looked at her parents with curiosity filled eyes.

Eric rubbed his wife's shoulder. "Nope. We wanted to escort you home and take a look at where you've been living. Is that alright?" He looked at Jason with questionable gazes.

Swallowing a gulp, Jason agreed. "Of course. You two are welcomed anytime you wish to visit Selina." The incident at his office has been rewinding in his mind in the past few days. After everything was settled, he suddenly remembered he had cancelled his engagement with Selina! How could he get on his future in-laws good sides again? He has no idea!

As these thoughts fill up his mind, he totally forgot that he and Selina were sharing one room. He forgot they shared the same bed and many other items in the house. His main concentration was on how he could upgrade from a boyfriend to fiancé status again.

When he turned to the side, he caught Michael's hand gesture. Hoping he had read the silent signal correctly, he responded with a nod. 'I hope he means it will be okay. If not, then that would mean I have zero points in his parents' eyes. Ahhh, is it too late to tell them I have a twin brother and it wasn't me talking that day?'

Upon entering Jason's villa, Jason brought out slippers for everyone to change into. It's been a while since Selina has been home, making her miss the fresh scent of the cherry blossom perfume sticks she bought.

Hugging her mom and dad's arm, she led them to the living room and asked if they wanted any drinks. Before she could continue stacking up her questions, Jason walked over to interrupt these service questions. As the gentleman of this villa, he should be the one asking.

With his hands on Selina's shoulder, he settled her down on the couch before turning his attention to his future in-laws. Smiling dazzlingly, he asked, "Do you want any drinks?"

Before Rosanna and Eric could answer, Michael dropped Selina's luggage on the side and clapped his hands together. "I want a lychee Mogu Mogu. I know you have it, so you can't hide that from me."

Hearing the familiar jelly drink coming from their son's mouth, Rosanna replied. "I also want a Mogu Mogu drink. Any flavor is fine."

Meanwhile, Eric thought it would give him too little work, so he asked for fresh brewed coffee. During the short span that Jason was occupied with tasks in the kitchen, Selina was answering questions that her parents had for her.

"Dear, how about you give us a tour around the villa? I want to see your room, so I can get an idea of what you like. I want to make the perfect room for you at our home." Rosanna suggested.

Shaking her head, Selina rejected their kind thoughts. "Actually, I would if it was appropriate. Right now, Jason's parents are staying over because they were planning a short stay. Celinda and auntie sleep upstairs. Uncle sleeps in the living room. I am staying in Jason's room."

"Then where is Jason sleeping?" Eric's calm smile cracked when he heard his daughter mentioned where everyone slept but Jason.

Letting out a silly laugh, she pointed to his room. "He sleeps with me."

Michael had his arms crossed and stretched out a smile as he heard his younger sister's talent. It was a gift for her naiveness to pay off like this because the words she says are always misleading.

"In one bed?" Rosanna asked.

Scratching the side of her temple, Selina nodded. "Yeah. He only had one bed, and he has work. I can't let him sleep on the air mattress. Even if someone has to sleep on the floor, it should be me."

"He dare?! Hmph, fine. But sweetheart, you two aren't married yet. What if words spread about you staying with him?" Eric tried soothing his tone as he spoke to his daughter.

"Eh? I've never thought of it that way. It'll be nice if I wreck his reputation, so those weeds won't start growing around him. It's annoying to mow the lawn, you know? Who knows? We already have two kids together. He is a taken man with two kids. So, we just need to sign that piece of paper to get legally married."

As soon as she finished speaking, Jason had brought the freshly brewed coffee and Mogu Mogu drinks to the living room. Examining the looks on Michael, Selina and his future in-laws faces, he already knew he came at a wrong time.

Steadily placing the coffee cup on the table, he passed two Mogu Mogu drinks to Rosanna and Michael.

"Haha. Then can I take a look at Jason's room? I want to see what you might need." Rosanna walked over to Selina's side and dragged her to the stairs.

Selina gave Jason a glance to get his permission. Smiling, Jason nodded. "Show her around." After the two petite figures were gone, Eric grinned. "So...I heard I already have grandchildren."
