CEO of Wang Corps

When night fell, humidity gradually rose, creating a sense of ickiness lurking in the air - waiting to drown people in the poor air quality. Several small groups of wild youngsters gathered separately outside one of the most popular bars in the city. The stagnant stench of cigarettes formed smoke-gray clouds that twisted in an artistic way, forming curls in the gloom.

Passing through the loud chatters was an annoying task for Alfred to complete. He hated strangers touching and bumping into him. The second he reached the entrance, the guard standing by the front door recognized his face and stepped aside to let him in. Once Alfred entered the spacious bar, the fresh breezes of the air conditioner welcomed him. Instantly, the cool air calmed his irritation.

As he walked deeper into the bar, the heightened volume of rock music dominated the atmosphere. Age-speckled bar lights illuminated the entire lounge, highlighting the seating areas. At first, Alfred thought he had to suffer waves of crowds before finding Michael and Aaron in the VIP lounge. Surprisingly, it was oddly empty on the inside and mostly crowded at the front door. Hence, looking for them was incredibly unchallenging.

Michael waved his arm in the air, "Yo! You're finally here! What took you so long?" He tossed a piece of peanut in the air and waited for it to fall into his mouth.

Alfred responded with a small hmphs, recalling the crowd incident from earlier. "There was a huge crowd outside. I was wondering why you would choose this bar out of every place in the city. Turns out, you wanted to test its popularity."

Ice cubes clanked against the glass as Aaron swirled his drink. "I told him to change the location, but he wouldn't listen to me. Normally, I would prefer a much quieter place."

Michael's long arm stretched behind Aaron's back. "Tonight is the bar's VIP event. There are less than ten names on their VIP list, meaning limited numbers of people could enter. The entrance fee for tonight has quite a bit of zeros in it. Make sure to order some drinks this time."

Taking the menu from the table, Alfred crossed his legs and leaned back on the soft fabric. "Hm...I'll get a Sex On the Beach and a Lychee Martini for now then. I'll order some snacks to go with this."

He reached out to the side of his seat and pressed on the service button. The bright red light turned on along with the colors of the light beaming down from above. Alfred's sight trailed the waiter who walked over to their table in an elegant manner. With one arm bent on his back, the waiter approached their table and took down their order.

After confirming their orders once more, the waiter bowed forward and left. Alfred's eyes continued to follow the waiter until something else caught his eye. At this time, the waiter had stopped by the edge of the bar counter and told the bartender the drink orders.

Behind the bartender was a wall of rectangular shelves. From the top left corner to the lower right corner, every hue of amber liquid was sitting patiently in its inverted bottles. Seeing Alfred in a daze, Michael shifted from his seat towards Alfred's direction. He stared at a similar angle and hoped to figure out what was so captivating at the bar counter.

Aaron was displeased at the sight of Michael checking out the bartender and waiter. He let out a cough to remind Michael that he was still present. Hearing his partner's warning, Michael quickly went back to his original seat and started a conversation.

"Oh, right. Before you got here, I received a phone call from my underling. Justin and his father heard about Jason's upcoming party for celebrating the completion of the artist contract. They are planning to make a move that night. I've informed everyone about it. You're in charge of walking around for suspicious figures at the party."

Alfred nodded, "Alright. Let's see how these rats want to play. I'll make sure this trap becomes a memorable one for them. Anyway, I'm going to the restroom before my drink comes. You better not take any sips of it, especially my Lychee Martini."

"Pfffft, you act like I'll just take one sip out of it. When you come back, your glass might be empty. Hahahahaha. Hurry up and use the bathroom. I won't touch your drink." Michael raised his glass with a teasing smirk on his face.

As he stood up and walked towards the restroom area, Alfred noticed a slim figure sitting in the back of the lounge. He recognized her face when he saw her reflection from the huge mirror on the bar counter. Still, he couldn't recall where he saw her before. 'Maybe I met her during a business meeting before…' He thought to himself as he continued pacing down the narrow hallway.

After a few more steps, her face rang the bell in his memories. "She's a regular at the other bar we always go to. I always see her drinking with another girl. Ahh, but I'm sure I saw her somewhere else too. Hmm..."

At the farther right corner of the lounge area, a lady with short black wavy hair that barely reached her shoulder tapped her fingers impatiently against the leather couch. The frown on her face deepened as the automatic machine answered the call for the second time. Finger-combing her hair backward with one hand, she let out a deep sigh.

Under the colorful sharp rays from the ceiling, her head began to ache from alcohol effects. She knew she was tipsy, which made the eagerness to find her bodyguard heighten. "I need to find her and get out of here fast before I get any dizzier."

Fortunately, only VIPs were allowed to enter tonight. If not, she would be in a lot of trouble. The bar was only quiet tonight because of the VIP event. If it was a regular day, customers would be dancing crazily and doing splits on the dance floor. She was a good drinker on days when her mood is good. Only when she encounters upsetting incidents does she exceed the amount of alcohol she consumes.

At the moment, she was already feeling tipsy. She had lost count on the amount of alcohol she had drank in the past two hours. Holding her forehead in her palm, she pressed the service button to settle the bill. The waiter brought the bill over to the table and waited for her to complete the transaction.

"Thank you for your business with us. We hope to see you next time." The waiter bowed slightly and handed her credit card back to her hands. She slipped her card back into her wallet, put everything into her purse and stood up from her seat.

As the CEO of Wang Corporations, Jessica Wang must maintain her image in public.

The second she stood up from her seat, she straightened wrinkles from her beige wrap style pencil skirt. On either side of her skirt, a black buckle sat elegantly in contrast to the golden chain connecting between it. Her black top was tucked in her skirt, accentuating the curves of her body. Along her V cut neckline to the sides of her long sleeves, lace embroidery designs made her fairly light skin appear lighter.

"Time to look for bodyguard Kyla and go home." She mumbled as she strolled towards the hallway leading to the bathroom.
