Forget About Her...

The secretary came back shortly after the shareholders had left the conference room to gather the used cups. When she entered, she noticed Selina standing in front of the room with her eyes fixated on a specific cup of coffee. She asked, "CEO Hui, may I collect this cup?"

Selina snapped out of her daze immediately and nodded. "Of course." She answered before stepping out of the room.

The secretary sighed in relief and bent over slightly to reach for the coffee on the table.

"Sorry, can you leave that cup of coffee? It's mine." Turning around, the secretary straightened up her back and nodded. "Yes, Mister Liam. Then, I will take my leave now." The secretary made sure she had taken the used cups and hurriedly left the room.

Antonio slid his hand out of his pocket, pulled out one of the chairs and sat down. During the past hour, he was in the next room listening to the presentation Selina had given. His index finger hooked the ear of the cup in front of him and brought it close to his nose - he sniffed the fragrance. Though the dark brown liquid was already cooled down, the leaf design on top was still evident.

A glimmer of doubt stirred mixed emotions inside of him. The cold round edge of the cup touched his bottom lip and slowly poured the content into his mouth.

Bang!

His fist knocked against the table's surface. "Why? How did she find out about my preference? Only Selina would care about the small details during meetings, but now...but Selina is dead! That corpse and that report indicated it was her! So, what does this imposter want to do?" He mumbled.

Meanwhile, Selina had returned to her room where a stack of documents was organized in the order of urgency. Sitting down by her desk, she picked up a pack of sticky notes and a pen. With her attention fixated on the files, she started marking areas that required change or clarification.

Perhaps she was too concentrated on her work; she didn't notice Antonio's presence in her office. At the same time, Antonio didn't make any noise and stood by the door. Every little movement she made increased the amount of doubt he had in his heart. His hands subconsciously tightened to a fist.

"Selina." He called out her name, testing her reaction. Immediately upon hearing his voice, Selina looked up from the documents and a faint smile appeared on her face. She had the same dimple on the left side of her cheek when she smiled.

"Senior Antonio, you're here. Come in and take a seat. You missed the meeting this morning. I'll walk you through what you missed. Oh! Have you had your morning coffee yet? I remember you've said before about needing a leaf latte art on your coffee to give you energy for work. Let me ask my secretary to make you one. One cube of sugar as usual." She quickly pressed a button on the phone and asked her secretary to bring two drinks — a cup of coffee and a cup of milk tea — into her office.

Raising her head, Selina caught the confusion in his eyes. She laughed, "what is it? Why do you look startled? Did you think I would've forgotten about your preferences just because we haven't seen each other for a while? Geez."

Hiding his thoughts, Antonio acted natural in front of her. "Of course not. I was just not used to seeing you as the CEO."

"Oh. I mean, the last time you've already seen me here. Ah, right. I've signed the necessary documents to change the name of Sin Corps into S&J. I wanted to do that long ago, but many things happened. Finally, I can make the changes now." Selina walked across her office and took a seat on the couch.

Recalling that particular time he was called to Peter's office to check documents, he nodded. "You're right. I know this isn't my business and it is not your obligation to answer my questions, but can I ask you a few things?"

"Sure. Actually, I've been wanting to speak to you, but it wasn't convenient before. I'll answer whatever questions you have as long as it is appropriate." She pointed to the couch across from her, gesturing for him to take a seat.

Cautiously, he walked over and took a seat. "Last time, I saw you and Jason Hui together. You two..." Words began clogging his throat. He knew it wasn't something he should've asked, but he wanted to know.

"Jason is my husband." Selina heard the hesitation in his voice and answered straightforwardly. Since she didn't need to hide from anyone anymore, there was no reason to not tell him the truth.

"Your husband? Since when? You were still dating Peter back then." Once again, his tongue slipped in front of her.

"I don't think I have to explain what I do to anyone. We got married fairly recent. As for Peter, he's been terminated as the CEO and I don't care whatever happened to him. He used to be in my past, but now, he is a nobody to me. I hope I won't hear his name in the future." The sudden tension created an awkward atmosphere.

Fortunately, the secretary walked in with their drinks and set it on the table between them. However, the second she left, the silence continued.

"Sorry for mentioning him. Uhm, how about we talk about what I missed during the morning meeting. We can have a talk later." He cleared his throat, reached for his coffee and took a sip from it. From their conversation, he could tell Selina wasn't lying. In this case, he must find a way to confirm her identity.

'If she really is Selina, then that means dad lied to me...' He thought silently as Selina tasted her favorite Oolong milk tea. Like always, a sweet smile curved her lips when she drank it.

An hour later, Antonio returned to his office and dialed a number. "It's me. I want you to help me investigate Selina Hui, the current CEO of Sin Corps. Before she got married, her surname had been Gu. Yes, she's the one who worked in Sin Corps before. Confirm whether they are the same person. Thanks."

Tapping his fingers impatiently, he started thinking about the words his father had said to him. "I hope this isn't what you meant by forget about her. If it is...." He narrowed his eyes and glared dangerously into space.
