I won't terminate her

"Antonio, if you can't answer my question with a proper response, I will not consider your suggestions. Think about it. Everyone needs to start somewhere. I wasn't born with the business mindset and I am sitting here right now as the CEO of the company. Of course, I didn't earn all of the things I have right now, but I was willing to learn. I went from zero knowledge to knowledgeable."

"If nobody ever gave us a chance to improve our abilities, how will we ever know what our capabilities are? So, why will I give a potential worker up if she never had a chance before? If she really isn't right for this position, I will tell her. If she makes mistakes, I will correct and teach her. What do you say?"

Selina crossed her legs and looked up from her cup.

"What opinions can I have? You're already this determined to hire her." Antonio replied, strongly holding the edge of his report.

"Alright. Then, let's begin. Let me see the report and you can summarize everything for me." She reached out for his report, overlooking the stiff smile on his face.

By the time Antonio was finished with his presentation, Lia was already back in her seat. The second the office door closed from behind, Antonio dragged Lia to the emergency exit staircase. He released her arm, nearly making her stumble to the floor.

"Ow." She hissed as she rubbed her arm where a red mark was printed.

"Quit acting. Why are you here?" He asked once again.

"I told you, I work here. I am just a regular employee in this company, trying to make a damn living because expenses are too pricey nowadays. This is a high-paying job and Selina is nice enough to hire me." Lia sighed, shrugging as if she had motive at all.

"Lies. What mission are you on again? Why are you disguised? What do you have to do? What did my father ask you to do? I'm warning you to not harm Selina." He repeated himself all over again.

Rubbing her ear lobes, Lia leaned her weight on one leg. "I say, Antonio. Why do you like repeating yourself like a recorder on loop? I already made it clear that I will not hurt her. Of all the times, when have I ever harmed anyone close to you. However, of all these times, how many times have you shown your wariness and disappointment in me? You should understand how difficult it is to even be alive after leaking my missions to you. Yet, you are here judging me."

"You've lied to me before. How could I trust your words?" Antonio arrogantly rolled his eyes.

"Then have you never lied to me before? Have I held you responsible for the false promises you made to me? You probably forgot about them the next minute, but I remember it very clearly! If you want to believe my words, then do so. If not, then so be it. I have nothing afraid neither do I have anything to hide. Suit yourself." Angered by his distrust, Lia stomped her way back to the office.

Putting her forehead against her palms, she closed her eyes. 'Lying for your own good is an unforgivable action. Then what about you? You promised to marry me when we grow up, yet you forgot all about these promises when we were younger. Forget it. If you don't remember then don't remember...You'll say you were playing with me anyway.'

Around 5:45 P.M., Selina received a call from Jason. She cracked her neck when she answered the call. "Hello, hubby."

"Is my beautiful wife ready to get off work yet? I am 10 minutes away from your company. You should start packing your personal belongings before I come up to you." He gave a silent sigh when he imagined her tired expression from working the entire day.

"En. I will pack now. I will come down in a bit. I'll see you outside." While she was on the phone with him, she started saving the documents on her screen and closing every running application. Once everything was closed, she shut her devices down and organized everything on one side of her desk.

Since she only brought a purse to work today, she only needed to grab her phone and blazer. After making sure everything she needed was in her purse, she took the empty cup on her desk to the pantry where she washed it clean and left it to dry.

"Okay, everything is shut down. My documents are separated and I have everything I need in my bag. Alright! Time to go. Heh. Exactly 8 minutes. I have 2 minutes to get to him." Selina checked her watch before leaving the office.

At this time, most employees have already left work. Therefore, she didn't encounter many people on her way out of the building. The moment she stepped out, she spotted Jason's car and hurried into the passenger seat.

"Hi, hubby!!!" She greeted Jason with a hug and a peck on the cheek.

Reciprocating her greeting, Jason chuckled. "How was work today, wifey?" As she started telling him about the workload on her desk, he helped her put on her seatbelt. Once they were both ready, he started driving to the address his parents sent him.

On their way to the restaurant, there was surprisingly little to no traffic. Hence, it took them 20 minutes to arrive at the underground parking lot.

"Hmm, it seems like our parents are both here. Huh....interesting. Isaac, Celinda, Aaron, Bryan, and Michael are also here. It seems like we are the only ones here today too. The whole parking lot is empty except for our family's vehicles. Ah, wait there's one more vehicle here...." Celinda pointed at a black van parked in the middle of the parking lot.

"That should be Grandpa Lun's van. Anyway, let's go. We shouldn't have everyone wait for us." Jason linked their hands together as they walked into the restaurant.
