Shen

Shen was one of incredible birth. His life began when he was found abandoned in front of a temple. The kind monks at the monk did not abandon him. They began to raise him up like he was their own child. At a young age, a sense of virtue and strictness was infused into him. Combined with his naturally kind nature, he was able to quickly pick up the martial arts of his temple.

Shen was so extraordinary that his bald head resembled that of a peeled boiled egg. The shine on his left many monks in shame. On top of that, he had the incredible ability to wipe his ass with only one square of toilet paper. In short, he was an extraordinary man.

When the world changed, he found his home, his temple had transformed into a dungeon. Fortunately, he was the only resident of the temple now. He was the abbot of the temple that raised him!

And now he was here to fully vanquish the monsters that raided his home.

A wooden stick in hand, he stepped into the fourth floor. The fourth floor, the last floor of this dungeon. A level never reached before.

The floor transformed into a familiar room. It was the praying room. Various candles lit around the room. The smell of incense filled the air. His bare foot landed on the old red rug that covered the floor of the praying room.

At the end of the room, a familiar figure sat. He was an old monk wearing a dilapidated red rope.

"Old Abbot?" Shen softly called out. Despite seeing a figure that should already be deceased, his eyes remained clear.

The old abbot raised his head. His eyes were full of kindness.

"Shen?" He called out in return. "Come sit over here,"

Shen obliged and went to sit next to the old abbot on his knees like a proper monk.

The old abbot fell silent. Shen did not say anything as he patiently waited for the old abbot.

"Will you take over as the abbot when I'm gone?" The old abbot finally asked after a long time.

Shen did not answer. His mind wandered to his last moments with the old abbot before he passed away.

"I raised you as a monk because I want to instill good virtues into you. Good virtues lead to kindness. There is no good or evil in this world and I wanted you to understand that at a young age. You might not understand entirely now and that's fine. I want you to explore the world when I'm gone. You are free to do whatever you want,"

That was the last conversation he had with the old abbot. Later that week, he was on his knees, tears dripping down his face as the remains of the old abbot were cremated away. He softly whispered one word that he never thought he would say.

"Father," he softly whispered. "Goodbye,"

Shen's mind returned to the present where the old abbot sat.

"I'm sorry I can't do that," Shen replied. "There are others out there waiting to be saved,"

The old abbot smiled with his wrinkly face. "Very well," he answered.

Shen's surroundings began to fade away and he found himself in a forest.

[Title Acquired: Abbot of Mt. Stupid]

Shen scratched his bald ahead. Didn't he say no to being the abbot? He gave no further thought and looked around his surroundings.

He stared at the sun for a long time to figure out the time. In the end, he realized that he couldn't tell the time from looking at the sun. He was just a monk after all.

After wandering around the forest for a while, he realized that this was the forest that surrounded Mt. Stupid!

Where did his Mt. Stupid go? The trees are so big now…

Shen traced his hand over one particular tree that had strange engravings. This was the tree that he used to scratch stuff on as a child. It was enormous now but the mark remained, albeit slightly distorted. It was what he used to identify his surroundings.

"There's a village a distance from here, I'll go check over there first," Shen nodded.

Shen took his time as he navigated through the once familiar forest.

Shing!

His sharp ears picked up sounds in the distance.

"Someone is in danger!"

Right away, he knew that someone was being attacked by monsters. His long experience of being stuck in a dungeon for several months gave him all the knowledge he needed to identify monsters.

His muscular body quickly shuffled through the trees. He could finally see two humans in sight. An old man was in the front, protecting his companion against the huge bird monster. The old man had grey hair that had a tinge of brown. His green eyes were the most eye-catching part about his appearance. A double-breasted suit that he wore gave him a sophisticated appearance. His companion was a beautiful lady in the prime of her life that exuded a mature charm. She had unusual black hair for someone in The Nations and a pair of gem-like blue eyes. Her white sundress gave her a youthful spirit.

The huge bird that was attacking them hovered in the air creating a stalemate.

"I have to hurry!"

A golden holy aura covered Shen's entire body and in the next moment, he was already on top of the bird.

Boink!

He smacked his wooden staff against the bird's head which created a funny sound. As a kind monk, he would never kill an innocent monster.

Shen's yellow rope gently fluttered as he landed elegantly on the ground. "Are you alright?"
