chapter 11

The next day, I woke Alice up and had us go over to the guild once more. There we decided on what we should do. When i recommended fighting some sickle snacks Alice did not object for once. In fact, she actually approved! Weird right. "Alice, what's with you today?"

"Wah, oh nothing."

" Are you sure? You seem to be more agreeable today than normal."

"Oh well that's rude of you. It just so happens that I wanted to fight something this time instead of chasing something." As she said this, I noticed that she wasn't looking me in the eye and her neck was a little pink. I couldn't help but smile. I'll keep quiet about what I just saw.

As we left the guildhall, I recommended that we find a proper sword for her. Alice gaved a surprised look. "How did you know I specialize with swords?" I smirked and responded, " Isn't it obvious? I know everything."

We entered a small looking shop and found it filled with different types of weapons. There were crates filled with almost every kind of thing you could use to hurt someone with. It took a while finding the right sword for her. She turns out to be a really picky person.

In the end, we ended up buying a sword that looked like a katana. Alice told me that she didn't want to fight like her brother, who uses a double edged sword. When we went over to the counter the clerk told us the price. "That is going to be 40 silver, kids."

"What the hell?! That's way too much! How about 30 silver and 50 copper?"

"Hell no you little brat. This isn't a place for haggling. That sword right there took a whole two days to make. It's very strong and can't be worth less than 40 silver!"

"Oh yeah? What if i told you that I could make a weapon that's worth twice as much for the cost of only 20 silver?"

"Hah! I'll take you up on that bet. How about this, I'll let you use my workshop and my materials to make a weapon. It needs to be just like this one and your budget is only 20 silver. You will buy my materials and use my furnace. The workshop will be rented to you for 5 silver. That means you only have 15 silver left. By the way, each ingot is worth 1 silver each."

"Fine! I'll take you up on that bet! I'll rent your workshop for 5 silver and I'll buy 10 silver worth of steel. Sounds good?"

"Sounds great!"

The man led me to the back and we entered a workshop filled with metals and different tools. The heat was so extreme, I instantly started to sweat. I quickly took off my shirt, leaving my flat chest ( I know, shut up. Leave me alone" exposed for the world to see. You could mistake me for a boy if it wasn't for the lack of a bulge in my pants.

I swiftly grabbed 10 silver worth of steel ingots and immediately got to work. I then asked myself how to make the best katana with my skills and with the materials I have with me.

To make a good katana you need to first meld the steel together. I put in one ingot in and bring the heat up to allow for the metal to be malleable. I then hammer down the now soft hot metal into a flattened shape. I then cool it down in some water and place another ingot on top of the sheet of metal.

I repeat this over and over again until I have a thick sheet of metal. I put the sheet of metal back into the fire and proceeded to fold the steel over itself. I then hammered it down with all of my strength. At this time as I strike the metal, I imbue some of my mana into it little by little. This allowed the impurities to be replaced by magic, willing it to grow stronger. This was only the beginning of the creation of a true katana.
