Two For the Price of One

"Who the fuck are you!?

The Bakugou in the door way challenged. It was the only words in the dead quiet room. The Bakugou on top of her stared at the one in the doorway. She could sense a little fear coming from him. Anzu took this moment to escape. She shoved the palm of her hand up, knocking him directly in the jaw. She scrambled away of him, and stood up. Panting, but mostly unharmed. So that one was a fake. Anzu couldn't help but breath a sigh of relief. It didn't take her long to know the one in the doorway was clearly the real one. The real Bakugou marched up to the fake one.

"Mind telling me who the hell sent you!?" He questioned, a giant, over confident grin painting his face. The fake sputtered for words, panic seemed to grip them. They sure as hell didn't seem so tough now. The fake veered back, but Anzu and Bakugou had already exchanged glances. Anzu nodded to Bakugou, then she rushed forward, digging her elbow into her attacker's spine. They let out a sharp sound, and Bakugou prepared to hit them, but misjudged his opponents speed. The fake whipped around, grabbing Bakugou by his opening left hook and slamming him into the ground. Then, the fake turned, removing a small knife from their belt. Anzu was able to dodge the attack, but the blade still nicked her left shoulder. The assailant then forced his hand over her shoulder, coating it in her blood. Bakugou stood up, ready to fight back, but the fake was already on the balcony.

"Stop them!" He screamed to Anzu. She faltered, her hand over her left eye. She could use it. She could end it all right now. Or she could kill them and wind up becoming a criminal. There was a small chance she could use it correctly, but then Bakugou would know. He would see her for the first time. What she really was. Not some rich transfer student from the states, but an animal, being trained for battle. The thought sickened her. The decision and stress gnawed at her, her heart racing. Finally, she decided against it. She watched solemnly as the fake dissapeared through a black and purple vortex from the balcony. Once again she had failed to do her job. All while Bakugou had been watching.

"Shit!" He said stomping over to the balcony. Then he whipped around, breathing through his teeth, trying to control the anger.

"What the hell are you doing!? Why didn't you stop them!" He yelled directly in her face. She had had plenty of him, from the day he got here up until now. Even if it was a fake, she had no way of knowing because his real personality was so off putting that there was a chance it could be the real him! She knew it was her fault, she knew she screwed up! Anzu looked defiantly up at him. That hatred he had noticed for so long burned brighter.

"Listen. Up. I'm sorry okay!? You think I wanted to let them escape!? You think that's really what I wanted!? You don't even know what my quirk does! Why do you suppose I don't train with the rest of the class!? It's because my quirk doesn't work like that okay!?" She planted her index finger on his chest, backing him up. She was really sick of everything. From the stress to the pain everything. She knew she was taking it unfairly out on him. She knew it in the back of her head. Every word that came out sounded nothing like her. She wanted to stop but she couldn't. An old anger from years seemed to pour out of her and she couldn't stop it. She was so sick of forcing her emotions down and acting like some simple minded black and white pet. She threw her hands up in the air.

"Look. I'm sorry. That wasn't meant for you." The look of anger in her eyes turned to remorse, and she broke the eye contact, leaving the room and walking out of the dorms. She heard him call for her to wait, but she didn't bother.

She always thought of herself as someone that would never let her emotions get the better of her. And here she was, barking at someone who asked a simple question. She sat on the grass behind the dorm. Looked out into the forest. The sun was setting. The mosquitoes were everywhere, but she couldn't bring herself to move. She had really screwed up. She continuously looped different way's that could have gone. What is she had used her quirk? If she killed the fake what would he think of her? She felt ridiculously selfish. Here she was thinking completely about herself. She clenched her stomach tighter, remembering the look in his eyes as he ripped away the only protection she had from her quirk. Something satiated. She shivered at the thought. She had to get in her mind that it wasn't him. That was a completely ridiculous reaction, especially when he didn't even know what the fake did. She fell sideways, still in the fetal position. She saw a squirrel jump from tree to tree, trying to find something in the mass of the forest. Everything always tied back to being her fault didn't it? Even if she didn't know how, she would wind up screwing things over eventually. She couldn't believe all that time made her forget. She just wanted to worry about someone else's well being for once. Her ability, her mental state, everything was weak. She had been trying so hard to fix it over the past week, she nearly forgot she was nothing in comparison to all these great people. And Anzu doubted she could ever think to hold a candle to them. She continued to drift from thought to thought. How would she go about apologizing? She had never given an apology for indecent behavior. Well, not one that was excepted anyway. She decided before she would apologize, it would be in her best interest to tell Aizawa about the attack.

"Aizawa-sensei!?" She asked knocking on the door a second time.

"You're back again?" He asked, glaring at the door with little patience. "Hurry up." He said motioning for her entrance.

"Okay, so I doubt you'll believe me but, there were two Bakugou's and one was crazy and wanted to know what my quirk was, but the other ones normal, still a jerk, but normal and they were both in the room, then there was a portal, and I didn't want to use my quirk so now he's mad." She said this all so quickly Aizawa obtained little to nothing. He just stared at her blankly.

"Two Bakugous?" He asked, looking at Anzu like she had three heads.

"Yes! They were both identical but one was crazy and pretty much attacked me trying to figure out my quirk." She said, trying to finish the conversation before sundown. Aizawa put his hands to his nose bridge. He wasn't getting paid nearly enough for this.

"You said something about a portal?" He asked trying to humor the story. Anzu shook her head yes,

"It was black and purple, and oddly enough there was two little yellow lights in the center, but the crazy Bakugou went into it and then it closed!" She exclaimed, begging for him to believe her. The portal part seemed to intrigue him, seeing as he began typing something into his computer.

"Did it look like this?" He said, showing her a picture of a figure that looked exactly like the portal. It had metal rings around it's neck and two yellow eyes. It's name was Kurogiri.

"Yeah. That's him." She said, looking at the picture in awe. Aizawa looked alert now. Clearly this wasn't a good sign.

"This is bad. I'll have to talk to the principle about it. Inform Bakugou not to tell anyone, the same goes for you. If this get's out were going to have a lot of issues. If Bakugou starts acting strange again, stay away from him understand?" He asked, getting up from his chair. "Try to be around someone at all times. It's not a good idea to be alone right now." He was walking out the door but she stopped him.

"One more thing. What's the best way to give an apology?" She asked, incredibly embarrassed. She knew this was something she should know, but no matter how hard she thought she just couldn't find the right words. He rested his hand on her shoulder.

"Just be sincere. That's about all you can do." He said walking away. "And get that shoulder wound checked out." Anzu had completely forgotten about the knife wound. It wasn't anything bad, just a small cut. She'd worry about it later. She hurried out the door and back to the dorms.

As she approached, Kiri bolted towards her. What was he doing outside? He took a moment to catch his breath.

"Ugh... Thank God... we've been looking... all over for you!" He said between breaths.

"What! Why?" She said walking back with him.

"Bakugou told us something bad might have happened once you left the dorms so the whole class has been looking. He's pretty mad right now. I don't know what happened but he doesn't seem happy about it." He said nervously. This only made her feel worse. As they got closer, more people started to notice. She felt terrible that she caused all of this worry. She had to speak to Bakugou. Anzu hurried back with him as fast as she could. When she finally reached the house, she noticed how many looks of sympathy she was getting. So he's that mad huh? Anzu grimaced. She would just have to be sincere. There was also the fact that she told him she can't use her quirk on normal people. She made it sound dangerous. Which was a horrible idea. She put on a strong face. She would face her consequences. She walked up the stairs, her confidence growing with every step. When she reached the landing, she held her chin high. She would just explain what happened. Just like last time the door swung open before she could reach the handle. He had a death grip on the door as he welcomed her in. Everything coming off of him was stiff. She thought she caught his eye twitching but maybe it was just her imagination.

"Before you say anything... I think you deserve an apology. It wasn't right for me to blow up at you. I was still a little bit shaken up from the other... you, so I kind of took it out on you for no reason. I hope you can forgive me." She couldn't meet his gaze but felt it boring into her.

"What I wan't to know is why someone with a quirk she can't use ended up in the hero course!?" He asked slouching into his chair and crossing his arms.

"It's complicated." She said, removing a water bottle from the fridge. With everything going on she barely even had time to eat or think.

"It's obvious you're not some stupid transfer student. So you can stop with that act. I'm really just sick of ignoring the lies. I don't trust people I know nothing about." He barked. Still, he stared at her with a strong intensity. Finally she decided to meet his gaze. It was a lot stronger than she anticipated, but she held it.

"Look, there's a lot even I don't know right now, but currently we have a bigger issue than me telling you about my past. I know it's not easy, but you're going to have to trust me anyway." She knew how ridiculous it sounded, but she had no choice.

"What did that bastard do that has you so freaked out?" He asked this non-nonchalantly, if only he knew what he was asking. Honestly she had no desire to tell him. She didn't want to further prove how useless she felt.

"It's not important right now. I told Aizawa about the intruder and he told us not to tell anyone." She said, hoping to dodge the question. He seemed like he wanted to pursue it, but kept his mouth shut. He didn't say anything after that. "All I can tell you is I have a good reason to keep up the lies. Is that enough... for now?" She said, grasping at words that she couldn't find.

"All I wan't is for you to prove you're on our side." He said eyeing her suspiciously. On their side!? So he thought she was working with the villains. It sounded ridiculous, but it wasn't a bad conclusion. Especially when she let the villain escape.

"I don't know how to prove that to you. But Aizawa trusts me. I don't know if that means anything, but it's all I have." She said, looking at him remorsefully. She feared she had lost his trust for good.

"Fine. But if anything happens that makes me doubt otherwise, I will not hold back." He said this like a growl. She could understand why though. After all, she would feel the same way. A couple moment's of awkward silence passed. Then she remembered the intruder.

"He hit you pretty hard into the ground, are you okay?" She worried. She hadn't even remembered! What if he was actually hurt? She had just brushed it off like it wasn't an issue. To her relief he scoffed at the question.

"Takes a lot more than that to do anything to me." He said, finding the statement humorous. Now she was embarrassed. "By the way, you're bleeding through you're shirt." He said gesturing to her shoulder. She had just now noticed this. She told Aizawa she would fix it later and completely forgot. "There's a first aid kit in the right cabinet." He said turning around, and making his way to his desk. She really was stupid for thinking that that was Bakugou. Everything that came out of his mouth was insulting, but he did care. And he noticed everything. He would never do something like that, jerk or otherwise. She smiled to herself. This entire day had been crazy. And now on top of school, her quirk, and her roommate, she now had to worry about a villain. But... like she kept telling herself, the harder she works the stronger she gets. It was just a very rocky road. She went to sleep that night happy. She had made up for the damage she did, and at least she was on speaking terms with him again. That was more than she could've asked for. With the new advancements she had made on her quirk who knows, maybe there was hope for her after all. And she really did hope that one day she could tell Bakugou the truth. She wanted him to have a real reason to trust her, not just her word. In an odd way she had taken a liking to the jerk.
