Ch.41

Faith shrugged. "Fine by me. Just so long as I get to punch something, I don't really care where we go."

To that end, a couple of months flew by as we killed demons, got bouncy, and partied hard as Faith put it. We weren't a thing like she almost was with Buffy, but she called me the best sex she was likely to find in LA so when she came back aroused but unfucked saying the guys she'd wanted failed to stand up to what she needed, I simply opened my door. We were rough, animalistic in some ways and she liked that I didn't break easily.

The fact that I could vibe any part of my body at will was just a bonus. She took over the Ten Rings while we tore up demons and vamps in LA. When Angel and his team made their big move, the Ten Rings and the slayer organization portaled in to help. The last one had been a surprise to even me since I hadn't known she was in contact with Buffy.

I went to the LA branch where Angel was getting a beat down from Marcus Hamilton, a child of the senior partners. I broke Hamilton's spine and told Angel to drain and kill him before leaving as fast as possible because I was going to break the connection Wolfram and Hart had to LA for good which would collapse this building into a crater. I headed to the elevator and went to the basement.

I broke the alters in the hell-like subbasement before breaking the tethers Wolfram and Hart had all over the city, destroying all the alters and consecrating all the unholy sites. Their power waned fast and they could no longer plunge LA into hell. I portaled over the coming fight with the demons that were cut off and landed on a freaking dragon. I cut its head off and jumped off with glowing fists, landing in a shockwave that blew the demonic army on their asses.

The slayers and Ten Rings members were just as stunned as Angel and Buffy. I unleashed my savage side and tore most of the demonic armies trapped in LA apart. They recovered and joined the slaughter because there was no fighting me when I went savage. I clawed my way through a cyclops's throat and took its head off before splitting a giant in two.

Buildings collapsed, demons screamed and I was covered in demon blood until the rain washed most of it away. When the fight was over, I was a bit out of it and it took the Ten Rings, Faith, and Illyria to restrain and knock sense into me. The magical whips holding me faded as the Ten Rings members let me go on Faith's orders. Illyria said I had not changed after all because I was just as mindless as before if however a bit refined since I didn't kill anyone on our side.

I didn't comment as I leaned my panting head into Faith's. She said I needed to wash the blood off me or I'd only go berserk again. Wesley having survived thanks to the Ten Rings masters of the s mystic arts suggested we go into the hotel. Angel asked about Wolfram and Hart and I panted. "Gone. Smoking crater sinkhole. Alters destroyed, demons dead. Wolfram and Hart lost LA. Still so many branches all over the world."

Spike patted my back. "Cheer up then. Still, plenty more fighting to do."

I growled at him and nearly took a slice while he backed off. Faith pulled me towards the back door of the hotel. "C'mon big guy, before you go all manimal again. Let's get you cleaned up."

I stopped at the door and took out two vials, holding them up for Spike and Angel. "Mohra demon blood. Turns vamps human, need souls though."

Spike took them and Faith brought me inside with the rest while Spike and Angel argued like children. After a long hot shower Faith and I shared, we went at it for hours because killing things always made us hungry and horny. When we rejoined the rest, the Ten Rings had provided a feast for the slayers. Richard was amongst the Ten Rings agents and he told Faith. "We're ready once the slayers are to begin a worldwide assault on Wolfram and Hart, Ma'am."

She nodded and told him while we ate. "Give us an hour and so long as B's cool with it we'll begin."

I grunted. "Wolfram and Hart has many branches and not just on earth. Since you're going after them here, I'll take Illyria with Faith and we'll kill the Wolf, Ram, and Hart Old Ones. That'll cut the head off the proverbial snake once we seal them away in the Deeper Well. Without them to coordinate no more armies of demons can come through so easily."

Faith was all for it and Kennedy asked if Buffy shouldn't go as well. I shook my head. "No, we need a heavy hitter here. The Scythe makes her the deadliest thing to demons besides the three of us so as long as she remains to take out any surprises we can get this done quickly and cleanly. It's gonna be a long day, but once we're done we'll have made a real difference in the evil that remains on earth."

Richard nodded. "Speaking of, we've finished wiping out the Scourge and a great many other groups in our part of the globe. The Hollow gave us some trouble, but once the siphon witches helped it was put down for good. Still, we've found the Malivore pit and we're having difficulty destroying it."

I chuckled. "Oh, you wouldn't you with that one."

Wesley asked. "Malivore?"

Faith answered. "Living dimension in the form of a mud beastie that makes people forget whatever person or creature it swallows."

Richard spoke up. "Including several gods, dragons, a Phoenix, a cherub creature that eats hearts and hundreds of other beings that are just as bad while many more are simply proof of magic that the human Triad Industries shoved into it alongside anyone that disagrees with them. We've had trouble because even if we destroy the pit the golem was reduced to, all the creatures inside will be set free and we've no place to put them that they won't be noticed."

He turned to me. "We need the restless door or your portals."

I grunted. "The Scourge you haven't finished off has the door in San Francisco."

Willow asked what the restless door was and I waved her off. "A portal-making box that can open a portal to anywhere the opener imagines. With it one can potentially bring an army anywhere to any dimension or reality they desire without using their magic. There are limits of course, but it can open a door to the past. I really shouldn't have made the damned thing."

I glared at Richard. "And your mother really shouldn't have lost the damned thing to a sorcerer in the 1850s."

He shrugged nonchalantly. "I wasn't around so I couldn't have stopped it."

Buffy asked how old he was and he smiled. "Fifty-seven. I look good, don't I? It's a serum the old man there brought over from his reality with the super-soldier serum. It extends the human lifespan by three hundred years and increases our healing abilities to near-instantaneous proportions. Add that to the super-soldier serum and we're able to go toe to toe with most vampires and win most of the time. It's no slayer strength, but peak human strength with a bit of oomph is enough for us."

They looked at me and I shrugged. "It works on humans, not slayers. I've no idea what Extremis would do to a supernaturally enhanced slayer. As for the super-soldier serum, it's not exactly like a slayer needs peak human strength and reflexes when they already have abilities far beyond that. It's useless and I hate watchers so don't give me that look."

Buffy sighed. "Still, we could live longer."

I shook my head. "Extremis is volatile on a good day. If something goes wrong slayers could explode like bombs seconds or months after taking it. If something goes wrong then they could be taken over as the demon part of themselves evolves inside them and makes a super slayer demon with extreme healing and fire breathing abilities or worse."

She grimaced and I looked to all the slayers hearing us. "Any takers? No? Didn't think so."

I waved a hand. "It's a gamble with every dose and useless because I don't do involuntary experiments on slayers."

I washed up and waited for the rest to get done eating. Xander asked for the super-soldier serum treatment and Willow asked if it was safe. I shrugged. "Extremis and the super-soldier serum is safe for humans, but not human and demon hybrids. Only Anya and the slayers are at risk."

Andrew said he wanted the super-soldier serum so it was left to Faith who told them sure, whatever so long as they don't blame her if they end up breathing fire or exploding or whatever.
