A full two years passed quickly while River's company took off the ground, the coffee and movie house picked up steam and I taught everything from martial arts to college level chemistry at the community center I'd built. The mayor had been replaced for being a corrupt asshole and the fact that he'd murdered Lana's great aunt. Her great uncle had gotten out of prison while the whole story including Lachlan Luthor's involvement had come out.
Next was the coffee house competing with the Talon went under due to having rats, roaches and the like in such quantities that they'd been hiding their health code violations. A body had been found upstairs in the apartment over the talon which led to the capture of a serial killer. The Kawatche natives had protested our rights over the land their ancestors owned and I'd sat down with their chief Willowbrook, making it clear to them that we would build nothing and all we were interested in was uncovering history there.
I told him that if the caves were found, we'd take over conservatorship while the state would buy the land and they'd be allowed to live on it under the premises that they did nothing to harm the caves and they kept people out that weren't state officials or scientists studying the caves. We shook on it and I told him that someday I would earn his trust as he'd earned mine by agreeing here and now. I left there and no more protests happened. In fact, I'd found the caves, uncovered the star blade and taken it for now.
It was too valuable and dangerous to fall into a Luthor's hands or a dumb natives thinking he was meant for it. I portaled out and left no traces that I'd ever been there. The star blade sat with the key in a lead lined safe in my study at the mansion. Back to the bigger news of sorts, TR Industries led a meteor rock cleanup through the whole town after we proved they were radioactive, if however low levels.
Most of the rocks were put in a storage facility where Pym technology was used to shrink containers filled with refined meteor rocks. Hundreds of crates were there filled with refined meteorites. TR Industries had taken over the shipping business with said patented technology I'd had to reinvent which had been a headache and a half. TR Industries had taken over the clean energy business with arc reactor technology and was famed for discovering a new element as well.
Pretty much all technology advances were running through TR Industries and River was having the time of her life there, helping people. As for the biggest secret discovery, I'd recovered Kara Zor-El's ship from the bottom of Reeves Dam. She'd woken up in our backyard and Inara explained things to her including the fact that we weren't natives either. Kara saw her cousin from afar and I asked that she wait until his human parents tell him of his origins before she reveal herself.
I told her she had much to learn about how to act human because Krypton was gone and all that remained were three Kryptonians on earth, two ships and some scattered Kryptonian technology. I told her I could teach her a great deal since she's too live here now, but it was up to her because I wouldn't control her life or stop her from running off. Inara explained that we only wanted to help, but if she ran off the paranoid governments would figure out the green meteor rocks hurt them, the red ones made them careless and dangerous, the black ones split their psyches and the blue takes away their powers while they wear it or the gold strips them of power permanently.
Kara was weary seeing the types we'd gathered and Inara told her they weren't meant for her, they were just a precaution incase Zod and his people survived and intend to bring war to earth. She was quite understanding before asking what it is I could possibly teach her. I smiled. "You'd be surprised. I'm far older than I look. In fact I'm older than Krypton and humanity. There is a great deal about life, fighting, science and other things that you could learn from me."
I waved a hand to River who shook her head so I shrugged. "River here is a mind reader as well as an emotion reader. Inara and River both wear rings that make them immortal but beyond that and their skills, they're as normal as regular humans. I'm…not."
River told Kara I was nearly four billion years old, had seen the collapse of an entire reality and survived it, walked a few realities, time traveled and fought in more wars than Krypton ever had. She told her I knew magic and I was teaching them both magic and sorcery as well as the fact that I let her into my head to learn new things whenever she wants because I didn't hide anything from my lovers. Inara told Kara that she was welcome to stay with us, in her own room, live and experience life, learn about her and master her powers which I can teach her and see her cousin every day from afar until he was ready to meet her.
Kara agreed and that was two years ago just after the ball. We'd held other balls, parties and social events, including exclusive ones. Kara had attended and learned to socialize with people. She'd also learned to respect my power and wisdom because magic does affect Kryptonians and can hurt them. I was also far stronger than she was, could use my suit to fly and nothing she could throw at me would hurt at all.
She'd learned the basics, to control and focus her senses first. Then we moved to her heat vision, freeze breath, speed fighting and how to harness her strength. We'd ended up sweaty and panting more than a few times and even entwined on the gym floor when she'd riled me up one too many times. She lost her virginity and thank the gods quake inhibitors had been installed because I wasn't gentle or slow with her.
She'd been warned repeatedly and she'd pushed the envelope, paying the price. River and Inara didn't say anything about it to me, but they'd taken Kara to the bath when I'd released the tired and sexed up Kryptonian female. I was still on edge so River returned and I'd been gentle, letting her control the flow until we were sated. Inara came back for her only to end up caught by me I carried them both to our bath where Kara lay floating in bliss.
I set them in it one by one and massaged them including Kara. I was back in control over myself so she enjoyed my touch, saying she'd been pushing for over a year trying to find the right line to cross ever since we'd started sparring. I rubbed one out for her and warned her that I'm not the type she can have and have other men. I told her that I was an animal at heart and Inara said all men were.
I couldn't argue there, though I did tell Kara to be careful because I didn't react well when I smelled other men on and in my females. She said she wasn't interested in normal humans so there was no worries there and only her cousin and an old Kryptonian scientist remained so it wasn't like she had a lot of options there, especially when I could do so much more. River warned her my seed was potent and despite the low fertility rate of Kryptonians we should be more careful in the future.
Yeah, so life goes on and all. Kara learned to use her X-ray vision and all the cool tricks a Kryptonian has. I occasionally watched Clark with her from afar and while he showed strength and speed, he had no other episodes of Kryptonian abilities. Kara told me Johnathan and Martha Kent hadn't told him yet. I knew she could hear them talking and I knew she was disappointed so I told her to follow me.
We went to my study and I showed her the Kryptonian artifacts I'd found. All three crystals of knowledge, the star blade, the two emblems, one of Dax-Ur and the other of the house of El. The last to pieces were the piece to the sphere and the key to Clark's ship. I grabbed the star blade and told her my plan to infuse it into my claws so that the powers of a Kryptonian would enhance my body permanently.
She asked about the rest and I told her what each does, telling her of Jor-El's plans to teach Kal-El. I told her the piece to the orb could bring a clone of Jor-El and the Kandorians to earth, but the real issue was that Zod and his ilk would want to use the power of the fortress to turn earth into a new Krypton and kill billions of innocent lives. I waved a hand to the fortress crystals. "I know you'll want to use them, but whichever of you does will become an emissary to the stars. The ambassador of your people and responsible for all aliens that come to earth to start trouble. You'll essentially be opening the door for so much more than you realize and for now I ask that you wait. Like all things I won't stop you if you choose to go ahead with it, but I'm trusting that you'll know you aren't yet ready for such a thing and you'll know when and if you ever are."
She nodded and I stopped on the emblem of her uncle's. I told her it held memories of Jor-El's time here on earth and it wasn't all good which is why he left it. We left it there and I told her the combination to the safe, telling her that I'd never meant to hide anything, I just didn't know when to tell her what. She asked why I wanted the powers of a Kryptonian and I shrugged. "Have you ever had sex in the clouds?"
She rolled her eyes laughing and I chuckled. "I don't really know myself, it's been interesting teaching you control and I just figured it'd be fun to experience for myself."
She agreed to let me do it and watched with Inara and River as I fused the star blade with all six of my claws with a spell. It worked the way I wanted after having spent months figuring out how to make it happen. There was no significant strength boost but I was naturally faster and with Kara's guidance I learned to fly and use my powers.
I spent months practicing and mastering my abilities before Clark finally ended up getting ran over by Lex Luthor, the new kid in town. I say kid, but he's twenty-one and his Porsche was wrecked. Clark saved him while Kara and I watched before we left and listened in. When Johnathan showed Clark the ship, I held Kara and told her when he ran off. "He'll be back and tomorrow you'll get your chance to meet him. No more watching and waiting."
She nodded and told me she loved me. I kissed her and we flew up to the clouds.
