After a quick look around, we took the plants and stuff the old lady had before I dialed the gate right after lunch. She was left in her little corner of the caves unconscious when I dialed a random planet before we left. A runner tried to follow but the gate shut off before he could get to it. We dialed earth and went home with the stuff Sam called important for cold fusion studies along with the medicines.
It was a short debriefing about Hadante before we got our weapons back. The people that had arrested us before had sent them back with the diplomatic team. Diplomacy won out since we weren't in prison so they were willing to share knowledge and technology with earth. They were above the goa'uld but below the Tollans in the technology department and the only reason the goa'uld hadn't taken their planets was because they didn't know that.
Jacob and I spent more time together and he gave me his blessing to marry his daughter so I took Sam out spontaneously for a round of dancing before dinner where I proposed. I told her I'd have asked sooner but it was hard getting into contact with her father to ask for his blessing. She said I hadn't needed to and I told her I'd wanted to because I wanted all the silly traditions and everything I could do to help give her the best I could. She kissed me and said yes before we celebrated with champagne before a long night of celebrations.
We were soon trapped in a virtual world that had stuck me with Jack and Teal'c until I explained things to Jack and he stopped playing the sick game. I left the game and knew things were real back in my own body. The rest eventually made it out along with everyone waking up while the Gamekeeper freaked over his garden. I gave him a droll stare and broke his jaw before telling him that forcefully playing with the worst memories people have isn't fun but if he tried it again I'd show him a nightmare inside his own head he'd never wake up from.
He held his fucked up jaw spitting blood and drool while the leader apologized saying she hadn't known we weren't volunteers. Jack said it was no problem while I asked Sam if she was alright. She nodded saying her mind was protected because of whatever Jolinar left behind when she was serious injured. When we returned, to the SGC with a deal, their virtual technology for the resources to help rebuild their civilization, General Hammond was happy to hear it.
We told Jack and the rest about our engagement right before we were captured by fake Jaffa and sentenced to work in a naquadah mine. Daniel insisted we play along so I mined naquadah fast while having the others relax and enjoy my water rations. When the guards tried to make them work, I got in their way and told them. "I can work fast and for long hours or we all work slow for short hours. Leave them be and I'll do their work for them."
The guards nearly shot me but agreed so long as the work was done. I gave Sam, Jack and Teal'c my water rations and worked damned hard and fast, breaking through and loading the raw naquadah, secretly taking most of it while the guards were busy. It was so easy I was humming and whistling while I worked which was an odd cheery tune for the mines. Jack asked how long I could keep it up while we waited on Daniel.
I grunted. "A few weeks, but we'll run out of naquadah to dig for by then and I don't see these people just letting the slaves go when there's nothing left to dig up."
Night and day I worked and each day Jack and the others asked Daniel to get us out of there. A week passed and soon the naquadah ran dry. The guards checked every bit of the place and found none left before rounding everyone up. Daniel went awol and nearly ordered them to kill the people so I snapped my chains and knocked out the guards and him.
I took the weapons and we retook the world as all the slaves were freed. We sent the slaves to the land of light with Tupelo before taking the weapons, sarcophagus and all the goa'uld technology, leaving the fake guards with empty naquadah carts and their princess and king. Daniel had to undergo withdrawal symptoms from the addictive effects of the sarcophagus he'd used.
I gave all the naquadah to General Hammond and our next big mission out we went space walking. I used my suit and scanned the message in the bottle before telling the others to leave it. Jack asked why and I told him. "The capsule is an ark of sorts. The organisms inside it are intelligent and feed on energy to multiply once introduced to an oxygen rich atmosphere. Basically if we take it back to base it'll activate, take over, blow up the base to feed on the energy and spread world wide in days, a last middle finger to whoever wiped them out no doubt."
Daniel said we couldn't just leave it and I asked if he knew of another oxygen rich place we could send it to with plenty of sunlight. Jack mentioned the prehistoric planet we visited with all the marshes and giant bugs. We sent it through the gate to there and headed home for a boring debriefing. A scan of the device was given to the SGC to prove my words and they saw it themselves when they sent a MALP through to observe it.
The thing had spread like a spiked tentacle and when switched to thermal vision, the MALP picked up the creatures pouring from it. I told them they were highly intelligent and very advanced, but they'd take over your body if you were dumb enough to go through, using it like a meat puppet, barely alive on the edge of death is what I picked up from reading their minds. The gate shut off and that world was banned for now.
Bra'tac brought back bad news a few weeks before the wedding. Apophis had attacked Chulak and the rebellion wasn't going entirely well. Hundreds joined Apophis while civil war broke out. He needed to get Teal'c's family off world just in case so he brought them to us.
Ry'ac had already been captured once but loyal free Jaffa had smuggled him out. When Ry'ac asked to see the surface of the planet, I read his intentions and moved fast, knocking him out. I caught him and told them as well as a worried Teal'c. "Apophis uses him even now. A compound called Nish'ta controls his mind and another strong poison he's been commanded to release is in a fake tooth. We need to get him to the medical facilities and get the tooth removed before hitting him with a single zat discharge to burn the Nish'ta from his system and get his mind back."
His mother, Drey'auc, slapped me and I Teal'c stopped her before asking for his son. I gave him to Teal'c and he carried him to Dr.Fraiser. I told Fraiser which tooth and she removed it carefully, finding the poison capsules. That alone was enough to convince Teal'c and he told General Hammond and the others he'd do it because a single zat discharge wouldn't kill a Jaffa at any age.
Still he tried to reason with Ry'ac first and shot him when he failed. He asked if it was gone and I nodded from the doorway. "It would've been less painful for you if you'd have let me do it, but yes it's gone. The discharge burns the compound out of his system in an overwhelming jolt. Apophis tried to use your son to destroy this world."
I turned and walked away. "He will get what's coming to him."
Bra'tac told us Apophis doesn't dare go to Chulak himself and sends only what's left of his armies to put down the rebellion. I told Bra'tac he should be careful to keep those loyal on the ships in case the Jaffa are used to send a similar compound to Chulak to wipe out the people there.
Teal'c asked if his family and I offered. "They and you may stay at the manor if you're interested. There are plenty of rooms and the off limits areas like my lab and bedroom are sealed when I'm not there. There is a panic room in case others come looking to kidnap them and automated weapons defense systems that can take flying vehicles out of the sky or stun anyone trying while alerting me, Sam and General Hammond of intruders. They will be safe there while we're gone, clothed in the finest silks and all the amenities this world has to offer."
Teal'c thanked me and I clasped his arm, saying every day he goes out and fights the goa'uld for this world, it is only fair they be safe here. General Hammond asked if I was sure they wouldn't be a security risk and I shook my head. "They'll be fine. There's nothing dangerous they nor anyone can get near. Most of my work is here and the compound has plenty of things to do. I'll build a tablet so Ry'ac can learn what other school children of earth learn and Drey'auc can use the pool to swim or the jacuzzi, home theater system and books to amuse herself. There is plenty to do even there if they wish to."
He sighed. "I was speaking towards the possibility that she may be infected with this compound."
I turned my gaze from him to Drey'auc and back, shaking my head. "She's not. The only thing in the forefront of her mind is her fear for her son and herself. She has no hostile intentions."
He nodded and said he'd handle the paperwork if it was alright with Teal'c. He agreed and thanked me for everything. I told him it's what friends do for one another. To that end Bra'tac was sent back to Chulak with all the weapons and armor I'd taken from the ships and all the Jaffa I'd met along the way on an extending floating pallet.
He thanked us and left himself to win the battle and force Apophis away from Chulak. An Iris was sent with him to be applied to the stargate of Chulak to force Apophis to send ships if necessary and a bunch of readers with a laptop to ensure his own people were let through. I'd had to rig the palm reader on the fly and make the goa'uld language programs for the laptop to hook up to the Iris as well, but it was enough for now.
It wouldn't get them through earth, but it'd keep them safe on Chulak that was for certain. Weeks later Ry'ac, Drey'auc and Teal'c had moved into two rooms and knew enough about the manor to steer clear of the off limits areas. They understood that the common areas had cameras for their protection and the security of my lab, but the bedrooms were theirs and they had the run of the place.
I told them that until the SGC says so and they get new identification, they had to remain in the walls of the compound. The grassy fields, high tech appliances, giant pull with floaties and beach balls as well as all the food and drinks they could want or need was there. I built the pad for Ry'ac and Drey'auc to learn all about earth and told Ry'ac that I would teach him to be a warrior like his father if he completes all his studies of earth so he knows what his father is fighting for.
Teal'c told Ry'ac he'd allow it if he completes his studies and only then if he doesn't give his mother trouble while he's gone fighting. That day I was off with Sam where she was getting an accommodation with Jack in DC. Daniel and Teal'c was on Abydos with Skaara and I had a meeting with Jacob as much as the president. I gave Jacob his invitation to the wedding in person and told him he needed to speak with General Hammond about being read in because we have a cure for what ails him if he's willing to take a chance with an NDA.
