Ch.113

When the goa'uld arrived, I remained in my lab working nonstop, ignoring the politics. When they asked if I could build a stargate, I warned them that if I did build a gate after the goa'uld take them, it'll likely result in them finding out I'm an ancient and lead to an all out attack on earth to abduct me and make me a host so they'd have access to all the knowledge of the ancients in my head. There was an incident and I only advised they ask the goa'uld to help before they try anything rash.

In the end Nirrti was captured and the treaty happened while earth retained the stargates. The system lords left and the Asgard did the same. Unlike what would've happened, the Asgard's ship had been detected long before they'd reached earth so it was entirely different from earth's perspective. I finished the first gate ship just before the next big mission to a goa'uld planet where a council of nine small system lords were found dead.

When Daniel found a tablet, I stopped him from using it, telling him my suit detected it and the stone were of Machello's design and with how fond of traps he was, it was unwise to use them. They were wrapped up and we left, finding the data on the tablet and stone combo as well as what it'd do to humans. Weeks went by of small scouting missions until we found Orban and Daniel helped the Urrone, aka child apprentices from Orban.

My suit indicated they had nanites in them helping them digest large amounts of information fast. They offered earth an exchange of knowledge and more importantly to Sam, a naquadah generator. It was far more efficient than the arc reactors and produced as much power as a solar reactor without needing sunlight. Sam asked if it was in the ancient repository and I gave her a droll stare before she sighed. "Right. Anyways, no chance it would share without having one?"

I sighed and she gave her recommendations to General Hammond because everything they were sharing, a total information exchange, was going to be a lot no matter what they shared at first. I was able to make a secondary laptop and download a copy of the repository on it along with all the stuff earth had come across and the knowledge it currently held. It didn't have a proper interface, but Daniel had made an ancient to English dictionary already so they didn't need one.

Earth had agreed so while they exchanged the laptop for a naquadah reactor, I was busy fixing the issues with the Urrone's nanites so their minds worked normally to retain information even when the nanites were removed. The nanites merely artificially enhanced their minds instead of replacing them. The children took in vast quantities of information via the nanites using the laptop after all of them learned the ancient language.

When I finished my work I sat and showed several all the knowledge of the goa'uld, telling them the tactics we would implement to subvert and eliminate them. The children learned quickly in many ways and by the time Jack sent back Merrin, the girl exchanging the naquadah reactor core and all the information to earth, the Orbanians had adopted the laws of the Ancients and advanced to technological levels rivaling the goa'uld. They were learning so quickly that they didn't appreciate what Jack had done in trying to keep Merrin on earth.

Still, I was able to update her nanites so she would retain the knowledge and her brain that of a child's could take in much more knowledge even without the nanites. As for the children already having lost their nanites, I spent time teaching them and helping them develop without nanites. The Orbanians took over doing that themselves after the first day so after I helped Merrin, Kalan insisted we leave so we did. We made contact with them a few days later and found some had begun to draw and paint while others were more advanced and had developed ships, automated weapons and so much more.

They insisted we leave and not return which was likely for the best for now. In the end they cut off contact with us while we were forced to move on to the next mission. Sam and I decided to give it another shot and I insisted on making her a suit specifically to protect her and the baby should we have one eventually. In the meantime we had an incident with the quantum mirror being studied at Area 51.

An alternate Sam and a new alternate Kawalsky came through the mirror and were detained. They along with the mirror were brought to the SGC. When they told us the issue with their reality's earth being attacked by Apophis, I suggested I take them back and contact the Asgard for their assistance. General Hammond asked if I could do what needed to be done if the Asgard weren't there in that reality and I gripped my Sam's hand.

I closed my eyes and spoke. "Our reality is the only one of consequence. If there is no other way to protect their earth I will do whatever I need to do. If the alternate Sam stays here she'll begin to experience quantum displacement and temporal cascade failure, being torn apart by tidal forces as if she were stuck in a black hole. I can't let that happen and I can't let any version of her be hurt if I can help it."

I stood up and major Kawalsky asked. "Who is this guy? You think you can just waltz in and the goa'uld will just leave?"

I shook my head. "If the Asgard aren't there to save your world, I will slaughter every last Jaffa and goa'uld, leaving your world with two hatak class goa'uld mother ships."

My Sam told them that I am an ancient, one of the race that invented the stargates and not only immortal, but unkillable. General Hammond gave me the orders and told Jack he, Daniel and I would escort them to their gate room and contact the Asgard or they'd protect them there while I do what needs to be done. Sam said she wished she could come with and we shared a kiss right before I stepped through the mirror to their world we'd found. Some Jaffa came and they watched me wreck the Jaffa in the halls before they even came through the mirror.

They joined me when I gave the all clear before we moved to the gate control room, freeing their Hammond amongst others as I killed the alternate Teal'c. I killed several dozen more Jaffa before opening the stargate to Othala with a wave of my suit covered hand. I told their people. "All of you go through, Jack, you and Daniel do the same. I'll clear the Jaffa in the base and try to find anyone living to keep that way."

They agreed and left before I got to work, saving several groups of scientists and officers from Jaffa. When the Asgard arrived the rest of the Jaffa and all the dead. I was busy upgrading their computers, leaving them a laptop with all the information we had gained from the gate and all the mission logs from our reality. They were all beamed down with the now living SGC members as I finished upgrading their computers.

Jack seeing a legit double of himself and arguing with himself was awkwardly funny. General Jack O'Niell asked what I was doing and I told him. "Upgrading your stuff and giving you all the information, technology and knowledge we've gained from our reality, a vast repository of knowledge from my people and a full map of the stargate network in the Milky Way while copying all you have for our own people to go over and compare notes."

He grunted. "Fair enough. Wait, your people?"

My Jack told him. "He's an ancient. Ya know, a gate builder or whatever."

I grunted. "You're both descendants of my people and part ancient so don't rub it in Jack."

He shrugged and alternate Sam stopped me with a hand on my arm, thanking me for what it's worth. I sighed. "Send a team to Abydos and see if an alternate version of me exists here. There'll be a cave five miles due East of the local's camp where you'll find me meditating if I even exist here in this reality. Tell him the only way is through. He'll understand what it means and likely join your people."

She nodded and I finished what I was doing before bringing out a pallet with a satellite probe from my belt on a pallet. "This is a Lantean level short range satellite system. It'll cover the globe and the solar system. Not even the Asgard can hide their ships from it. Earth is full of alien technology even without all the stuff this attack left. Be careful. Oh, and there's at least two goa'ulds hiding on earth, maybe more. Go over the mission logs I put in the secure files to understand more."

They agreed while I stood up and wished them luck. My suit returned from sentry mode and we left them there through the mirror that hadn't been closed so we didn't have to fiddle with the mirror. General Hammond wanted to destroy the mirro so I offered a compromise, I'd seal it away for good to prevent further disasters until earth desires to study alternate realities once more.

He agreed and I shrank it on a pallet and put it in my ring.
