Ch.116

A few weeks later Daniel's appendix burst and we were given a vacation so Sam and I were in her lab doing a detailed analysis of the decay rate of naquadah. Teal'c was off seeing his wife and son to Disneyworld or whatever. Jack stopped by and invited us to go fishing when he and I were beamed up by Thor to his ship. We found out way to Thor passed the swarms of replicators.

There he told us his side of what happened while I healed his cloned body. When he was on his feet while I felt a little weak, Jack talked with the others over a plan to blow the ship. I told him to step aside when he said anyone that was coming up wasn't getting down.

He did reluctantly and I told General Hammond. "We're going to blow the ship's deceleration drive upon entering the atmosphere, causing it to spiral into an uncontrollable descent while we beam up the gate and dial the alpha site. We jump ship, the ship burns up and all the replicators die while the gate lands in the Pacific Ocean from my calculations. You'll need to unpack the second gate and get it set up and we'll need the explosives Jack mentioned including an EVA suit. Sam, I'll need you up here as well to man the guidance maps and help Thor because his body is still injured and I can only heal so much because of his cloned physiology. Don't bring the suits. The last thing we need is the replicators making their own or taking them over."

She agreed and I told General Hammond. "Send extra guns. I think they'll be more effect than energy weapons and I need the new gun from my lab marked Titan 0-1. It has enough firepower to make a difference in a tight spot, sir."

He nodded. "You'll have everything in five minutes."

I stepped off the platform and canceled the hologram. "Really? No help cause it's to hard to ask for an opinion."

He shrugged. "Seemed like the best option at the time."

I huffed lightly and turned to Thor. "Don't move too much. Your body may feel fine, but I assure you the damage is still there. I can't do everything to fix it and the euphoria will wear off in about ten minutes or so."

He nodded before thanking me for doing what I can. I grunted. "You need a medical bed and nanites to repair the damage."

Sam and Teal'c were beamed up while Jack and I waited and we grabbed everything before fleeing as the replicators came. We got back to the room Thor was in while we waited and I went for a space walk to set the explosive on the deceleration drive. I had to push off the ship because the replicators disabled the door and popped my suit's oxygen tank. Once I was back inside via the teleporters, I shed my suit and ran with Jack and Teal'c.

Once we were back with Sam and Thor, I grabbed the Titan mini-gun railgun and saw Thor was back in his pod now unconscious with the stasis being used. I scanned the ship with a handheld scanner and copied it's databanks to a hard drive Sam brought up before the ship began it's descent. We got in place and Sam beamed up the gate before I began dialing with my armband they brought up.

Once it was done, I told Sam to beam in and send Thor through. She did and began shooting with us as replicators came in. I used telekinesis to fling the replicators away and opened fire on the hall of replicators. Even I was hurting by the time we blew the bomb and jumped ship.

Nearly two weeks on a tropical base called the alpha site with Sam was rather nice if however a bit stinky until I built a portable shower for everyone. Then we had to practically fight the entire base for turns using it, but since I made it Sam and I used it with or without sharing with each other. Teal'c of course had first dibs when we weren't using it and Jack as the highest ranking officer besides the other colonels that ran the base got to use it whenever he felt like it.

All in all, it was a descent mini vacation away from replicators, most technology and most people even. Sam was entering her seventh month and her stomach was quite noticeable now while her needs were made very clear at all hours of the day. The odd cravings though, that was more out there including fish and peanut butter as well as raisins and Turkey.

She was an odd one but I gave her everything I could find and made sure she was satisfied. When we returned to earth, we were about to leave before we were briefed for a single replicator having survived. When I saw the photographs of the replicators there, I set them down and told them. "There's only one replicator that'll be an issue. The rest of these are less sophisticated and can be destroyed by water guns which is why the sub hasn't moved. They're made from basic metal and faulty when introduced to water. The only one you'll have trouble with will be purple and made of the same materials as Thor's ship. Blow it up, spray it down and vaporize them if you can."

Major Davis wanted to save some specimens but I held up a hand. "These things can communicate across the galaxy on a subspace network transmission. If you leave any alive to study more will come and target earth. They use the same subspace transmissions as my people did and likely learned it from old technology they consumed."

I shook my head. "Either way it will not end well if even one of them is left in tact and there is no stable way of cutting that transmission without causing the stargates to create a continuous feedback loop that will blow them up because they run in the same communication network like your internet would if it were more advanced to that level."

He sighed. "I'll let the pentagon know. About the blocks-"

I waved him off. "Alone or in no more than five they're harmless but if much more are put in place they'll form and begin to replicate using whatever raw materials they can find, evolving as they go until the entire planet is left hollow and empty of even scraps of metal. Not even the metal in the earth would be left when they're ready to leave everyone they haven't killed here with no way to leave because they'll eat the gates."

He nodded solemnly before saying he'd talk to the pentagon. Jack asked. "Super soakers then?"

I nodded. "And a few shotguns for the last advanced replicator. It'll be a cake walk so long as you don't let them overrun you from behind or spill the water in the squirt guns. Heck, just bring a hose and spray the sun down on the inside."

Jack grunted. "Sounds too easy."

I shrugged. "That's because it's called logic and these replicators aren't anywhere near as advanced as the ones we faced before. If it was in a desert it'd be a different story wouldn't it?"

He smiled. "Fair enough."

The gate activated and the base shut down as Thor came through. I grabbed my suit and told him Sam and I'd help him while the others dealt with the replicators here. He looked concerned, but I told him they were made of plain metals and could be shorted out with water. We left with General Hammond's permission and ended up seeing the O'Neill, an Asgard designed ship solely meant to battle in the war with the replicators.

It was incomplete, but it was necessary anyways. I told Thor to make a single replicator when we were following the three replicator infested ships. He asked why and I told him to trust me because explaining it would take more time than we have and he likely wouldn't understand it at his own cognitive levels currently. He made one and it tried to replicate only to be stopped by my telekinesis. It tried to spray acid only to get covered in it instead while it floated there.

I used my suit to link with it and through it the collective replicators on the three ships. They halted and I was able to shut them down, reducing them to blocks with the replicator before I fell on my ass with a nose bleed. I grunted as the neural transmitter in my brain was fried. I typed in the commands into toy suit and the nanites repaired it while helping me.

When I was coherent again, I told Thor. "The replicators on those ships are reduced to blocks and the ships can now be boarded and returned to the fleet for study since their weapons are more advanced than your own."

Sam asked if I was alright and I nodded slowly as my suit came off. "I am. I used my suit and the neural transmitter to bypass their collective consciousness and take control of the replicators near us being those on the three ships. I nearly ascended when I forced my will over the collective there and disabled them. Any more and I believe I would have been forced to ascend or die temporarily though."

Thor's eyes went wide and he thanked me before sending the message to the Asgard home world. I told him he'd have to remove any replicator coding from the ship's computers or once they near replicators they can simply make more of their own kind with the molecular synthesizers. He nodded and I wiped a trail of blood from my nose grunting. "Damn, busted a few capillaries."

The Asgard took back the ships and Thor took us back to earth in his ship before sending us down and saving Teal'c and Jack's team on the sub that was destroyed to be sure the replicators were gone. Jack thanked Thor for the save and Thor told him it was he and his people that were in our debt. I told Thor that I'd get back to him on the frequency they've changed to.

He nodded and said we were most welcome to visit Othala anytime, but this was one small battle in the war that now spanned his entire galaxy once more. Once Thor left, Sam told Jack about the O'Neill ship.
