Ch.119

A bloody note came back from the future with a message that said not to go to a certain planet. The blood analysis showed it was Jack's and I was able to ID it as nearly a decade from the future for us based on the decayed telomeres in his RNA samples. What's more I was able to run a detailed analysis and give General Hammond the reason for why they sent the note.

I told them. "Whatever advanced alien race on that planet we would've met isn't a friend, but the fact that it took so long for them to send the note back means they pretended to be one and from the compound I found in the blood, I understand why it took so long for them to send the note back."

I brought up the compound on the hologram and Janet spoke up. "Whatever compound this is, it has two distinct functions and one main feature from what we can tell. It doubles the human lifespan and sterilizes those of above average intellect. The feature I mentioned is some sort of smart virus hidden inside the serum that doubles the human lifespan. I wouldn't have even known it's function without Oz here pointing out that it only had one intended purpose, to chemically castrate the infected and weed out above average intelligence."

They looked to me and I sighed. "I looked into similar methods to prevent wraiths from cloning more of themselves. It wasn't so effective in that time, but here, this is clearly the act of a sinister and highly intelligent race. Whatever purpose they may have, is insidious enough to wipe out all but five percent of the human population on earth, weeding out intelligent people for generations to come and not just in two centuries. They had long term goals for earth and the humans which I can only guess would be semi slaves not knowing they were being used for hard labor."

Sam asked. "Why would someone do such a thing?"

I shrugged. "People are weird. As to why a highly intelligent race would do this, I can only guess it had some reason to do with food supplies on their own planet or space to spread an overly large population out and take over without much fighting. Either way it hardly matters because they've clearly done this before if they're willing to try it on a population as big as earth's without fear of reprisals. Odds are there's several worlds out there that have been reduced to minimal populations and are being worked just like they wanted to do to earth."

I gestured to the hologram. "This is indicative of a highly advanced race compared to earth who is both sinister and patient willing to wait centuries for the planet's population to die down so they can change the very culture of those that remain. Methodical, cold and calculating. Odds are we'll run into them again and not recognize them if we don't send a team now to find out who they are."

General Hammond hesitated before agreeing. "Alright then. You have a go. I want to know who these people are and above all else I want to know which planet's they control so we can mark them off our list."

I raised an eyebrow and he grunted. "But just you. I don't want to risk this pathogen being airborne or something and your suit protects you not to mention you're immortal. Get me information."

I shrugged. "Alright. I'll meet back in five hours and either have what we need or the name of the race we need to watch for. I can't guarantee they'll be there so I'll check with the locals and poke around for proof."

He agreed and I went to see the Aschen or at least some farmers that knew them. In point of fact it wasn't hard to find the Ashen being that they floated around in harvesters. I took one such harvester and a ground teleportation pad after knocking the Aschen aboard out. I took a peek into their minds and recorded everything down to me being exactly right and all the planets they knew of.

When I returned to earth with everything, I transferred all the knowledge the Aschen had onto a hard drive and showed them a copy of the memories I took. I was getting better and without being a blunt hammer I was able to forego the nausea when I took what I needed. All the knowledge of the Aschen was more than compensation no doubt.

The planets they had control over were locked out of the DHD and the proof I brought was an old newspaper protesting the Aschen because their vaccine caused sterility. I had it translated for them fully and told them the Aschen to English translator on my laptop can do it for them if they want to try it themselves. I told them how the cities were paved over for fields and the once thriving population of millions was now a rural farm planet of thousands while the Aschen floated around in food harvesters.

I told them how they not only killed off the population they killed the parents and took the children to be raised simply to ensure they weren't developed intellectually or killed them off if they asked too many questions later on. It was sickening, but just short of goa'uld atrocities, Nazis and slavery anywhere. A month later the Harsesis boy came to meet with Daniel and Sha're. He learned everything and shared a dream with Daniel before leaving as an ascended.

A month later Daniel got infected by a goa'uld device that causes addiction like an opium den. I went in my suit and showed Daniel how to shut it down safely before leaving him, Teal'c and Jack there. My suit protected me from the energy the device emitted so only Daniel and Jack were effected alongside a boy that had been living there. They had three weeks off while Sam and I got the same.

When they returned, I went off world to see Jacob with baby Jacob while Sam was at the Air Force academy giving a lecture on wormhole physics. Jack and Teal'c were on babysitting duty while Daniel was on Abydos with Sha're meeting his own in-laws. Shit went down and all that fun stuff, but they had it handled and Sam's suit had a Lantean shield that protected her from harm so she was able to get to the gate and keep some energy bugs away from the others.

Eventually an entity made of electricity got into the base and died when I pulled the plug on it before Sam could touch the keypad and get shocked. Daniel demanded to know why and I pointed to the keypad. "Because it was a trap you gullible moron. It was trying to electrocute Sam or at the very least change places with her like Machello's device. Personally I like computers but I'm now sleeping with one no matter how much I love my wife and I'm not fucking something that's possessed her body either so screw you and the entity too."

They checked the keyboard and found I was right so Jack didn't say anything while Daniel apologized. Sam said it was pretty dumb of her to believe it wouldn't be a trap. I shrugged and told her it was gone now before reassuring myself that it hadn't jumped into her. Our souls lingered as I shared mine with her and she took comfort in my need to be sure she was alright.

A month later Harlan came through the gate while Daniel was off world. Our robot counterparts were off world mostly. Daniel's was destroyed in an accident while fully repairing and upgrading Harlan's home. They'd been retrofitting new power supplies permanently into the base and themselves when an overload fried him.

The flip side was when we contacted Juna via MALP, Robo-Jack told us my other self was dead as well, lost his head and everything. On the bright side he, Teal'c and Sam were still alive so they helped us in skirting the Jaffa, boarding the ship via rings and sealing all the doors on the ship while both Teal'c's killed Cronus. I sealed the doors because the forcefield couldn't hurt me. In the end only Robo-Sam and Harlan were left because Robo-Jack lost all of his power through wounds.

Robo-Teal'c was too badly damaged having taken a shot directly to the power core from a Jaffa staff blast. Cronus was dead so I took his head, put it on a pike in the throne room of the pyramid and the snake head in place of his tongue. The Jaffa were ringed down and shown everything before being offered freedom when I told them they were free to try reviving their god in the sarcophagus, but nothing except I could survive a beheading.

I took off my suit, my shirt and in front of them I cut out my still beating heart, tossing it pumping blood at the Jaffa's feet. They watched as my chest healed in front of their eyes. I told them. "I cannot be killed permanently by anything in all of creation. I need no coffin or technology, I am immortal, unkillable and over four billion years old. My people invented the stargates, brought life to this galaxy and learned to ascend beyond the flesh to living energy."

I stood before a thousand Jaffa and the people of Juna as I shook my head. "I am not a god. Just a man, a husband and a father. I claim no titles of divinity nor anything special. I'm just an old immortal man with a few innate abilities. These parasites called the goa'uld are not gods, merely snakes with the ability to pass on memories to their spawn. Through this they've inhabited host after host taking knowledge, abusing the gates and everything in their path to claim a divinity that was never theirs. They use technology to fool their subjects into thinking they have great power when they're no more than reptiles with a god complex."

I gestured to Cronus. "I challenge any of you to rip the heart out of any flesh and blood goa'uld and if the snake doesn't die with the host, flee it's body or seek a sarcophagus to heal, then I'll eat my own damned heart for the rest eternity for every meal! Go ahead, put your god back together, use his flawed technology to try and revive him and when you fail, seek your own freedom. If not for you then for the countless brothers and sisters of your own people suffering at the hands of cruel snakes who seek pleasure from other's suffering by pretending to be gods."

A Jaffa stepped forwards and said I would be struck down by his god. I snorted and tossed him a staff weapon. "Strike me down yourself if you think you can."

He shot me several dozen times and I healed right before their eyes. Bones snapped back in places and wounds closed. Burns and scars faded leaving perfect skin where there wasn't already permanent scars. In the end he dropped his weapon seeing he couldn't kill me.

I turned to the rest and asked if they'd like to try or if they want to pray to a dead snake. None stepped forwards, having seen it all so I put my shirt back on and told them I am just a man who heals fast, not a god and not a goa'uld so if I cannot claim divinity some dirty back water mud snakes certainly had no damn rights to it. I left telling them they were free to share all that happened here. I tossed out the sarcophagus with Cronus's body in it, telling them where to go and who to seek out when they were ready to accept the goa'uld weren't gods.
