Oma and the Russian Colonel left in bright white lights through the gate and I wrote down some things Anubis knew. His bases, his forces, everything down to his whereabouts over time. Jack said they'd look into it and a day later the Atlantis expedition was gathered. I warned Dr.Weir and the rest that they needed to stay in the immediate area near the gate while I raise the city because if they trigger too many systems they could drain too much power from the city shield before we could rise then they'd all die.
They agreed and Faora said she would return to Atlantis as soon as she was done helping the Asgard as much as possible. I nodded and told her the city hadn't changed much since she knew it as home. I wished Jack luck and warned him that one of the bases Anubis used was a time machine and he needed to blow it to hell because if Ba'al or another system lord used it they could erase all the good we've done or make things even worse.
He agreed before wishing us luck and dialing Atlantis. He sent a MALP through when it connected and once it was clear I went through first with Sam, Colonel Sumner and Dr.Weir who was the leader of the Atlantis expedition. Sam was just the security head while Sumner was the head of the teams he was to form and send out on exploratory missions for supplies or at my behest to acquire things to repair the city and fortify it for the coming war with the wraith.
We had the half used ZPM with us and a bottle of champagne from Jack wishing us luck. From there I console rose from next to the gate and I took over control of the city, deactivating the clamps and making the city rise. I opened the windows so they could see the sea through the forcefield while it rose up. Colonel Sumner and Sam made the people step aside while they stepped through and waited for the city to finish rising from the ocean floor.
When it did, I gave the case with the potentia to my suit and it went to install it. I took stock of the damage to the city and told Dr.Weir. "You can set your office there, overlooking the stargate. There are council chambers there where Sam can organize the security and prepare for hazmat sweeps. The city's sensors are down and I can already tell there are labs wrecked so it'll be dangerous. There are nanite viruses and things the Asurans made in those labs that need sealed off before the sensors come online and activate quarantine protocols. The more we contain now the easier it'll be later."
Sam nodded and called the officers while I gave them a map of the city and all the lab locations. I told them how to shut the doors and warned them that they should just shut the doors, seal the corridor and move on. The scientists wanted to go and I told Rodney as the lead scientist. "Feel free, but if an airborne nanite enters your brain and causes hemorrhaging and strokes before your violent death that's on you. You know how curious and dumb scientists lacking understanding can be, can you promise none of you will touch anything that can lead to an outbreak that can kill you all?"
He shut his mouth before telling Dr.Weir. "Perhaps it's best if the least valuable people go and shut the doors. It's a good thing the military sent grunts."
I ignored him and told the military people where they needed to be the most careful and how to deal with a door that wouldn't shut. I finished saying. "Radio me your location if you run into further problems. I'll be working on the city wide sensors so that when you're done we can do a proper cleanup."
I explained how to use the teleporters and told Sumner next. "I need your people to put the naquadah generators here, here, here, here and here."
Indicating each area of the map before saying. "The ZPM will be backup power for now in case the shield needs raised. There's a lot of work to do and my suit will be helping me make repairs so you'll have to use common sense and not touch the glowing or shiny stuff. Take Rodney and his people to set up the generators and watch them like hawks. I don't want them wandering off or lying to you so they can explore and get you all killed doing stupid shit. I'm well aware this is like candy land for scientists but they'll have to learn restraint or you will restrain them by any means necessary."
He nodded and Dr.Weir asked if that was really necessary. I grunted. "Unlike you I'm well aware of everything on Atlantis if not by personal involvement then by council meetings and records. Any single mistake by idiots thinking they know what there doing can get a lot of people here killed and not just the dumb scientists either. I'm aware that's an oxymoron but then I've met the morons and they aren't in the military."
She shrugged and told Rodney she'd defer to my knowledge and wisdom on this because even the seemingly innocuous things can be deadly here. I snorted lightly. "The seemingly innocuous things are the most deadly here. Breathe easy if you see a gun or a bomb because those can be dealt with easily. A simple rock could have deadly pathogens, explosive tumor causing radiation or nanites that'll eat and repurpose your brain for control over your body."
They shivered and I sighed. "Atlantis was primarily our home, but it was also the largest most advanced lab in the Alteran empire that spanned the galaxy. Everything in the labs can be deadly and right now they need to be neutralized before I can see how bad the damage to the city even is."
I marked the crew and council quarters and told Dr.Weir how to access them as well as the main bedrooms to each one. I told her that it was up to her but they should be safe and the personal things were taken to earth long ago so they could begin by moving in. I marked the mess hall as well and headed off to get my own work done. The civilians had their stuff in shrunken pallets so they could begin anytime.
I worked on the scanner relay towers for the city's sensors most of the night and next few days before everything was ready. When it was activated via console, it picked me out as the only Lantean here while the rest were human. The city went into lockdown in certain areas and I dealt with the cleanup personally while my suit was repairing more of the city nonstop with the resources I'd gathered in the Milky Way and Ida galaxy.
Colonel Sumner went to meet the locals and I recommended Athos as his first stop. I showed them holograms of the wraiths, their ships and gave them a full briefing down to the small subspace beacons the wraith used to identify and find Lanteans because they were triggered by the gene so they'd have to be careful. He took John Shepard and a team of marines to meet the locals while I worked fast, ending up taking off through a jumper to find a damaged war ship with my suit and a team of my own scientists to help effect repairs. I warned them when we docked to stay on the jumper as John called them until I said it was safe.
We were dangerously close to a star and I was busy fixing the radiation leak before moving the ship away from the star while my suit made repairs. When that was done we jumped into hyper space while the scientists made minor repairs and diagnostics. The weapons were down but they actually fixed that while I found the Aurora. We docked and found the ancients in stasis while I repaired life support and all the systems.
I activated the shields and fired the drones when a wraith cruiser came. After that I repaired the hyper drives of the Aurora before slaving it to my new ship and jumping into hyper space to take us back to Atlantis. I had to beam up and land both ships one by one on the docks while my suit made repairs. Finally I met with Dr.Weir who told me the bad news, Sumner was dead and the wraith were waking up across the galaxy.
John had rescued the Athosians and their lost people while I was gone. I told her it didn't matter then because I can't change either event, only continue to prepare for war and transfer my people I'd found into cloned bodies.
