Ch129

Weeks passed and other issues cropped up. Osiris tried to sneak to earth in a cloaked ship and was shot down, captured and extracted from Sarah, Daniel's ex girlfriend. Seeing as how his wife was with him, he wasn't exactly holding Sarah for long. Anyways, the cargo ship was taken apart for study including the Asgard teleporters.

The alpha site was attacked by Anubis and the free Jaffa barely got their people out of there on ships while the SGC made Harlan's world their new alpha site since it was secure, automated and had it's own Iris. My robot counterpart really had done a bang up job upgrading the place. It looked like Atlantis inside and had crew quarters along with Lantean level technology and computers.

It seems he'd built a way to make artificial neutronium for such technology. No wonder Harlan was still being studied and questioned. He no doubt found it all great to have so many people to talk to as well. Anyways, a month later another incident happened as Anubis's troops attacked a group of SGC members and cut off their retreat even with the suits and superior firepower.

We all had to go in and extract them which wasn't hard. I'd upgraded Sam's and my suits to be kinetic dampening like the others so a small war was waged before everyone was brought back successfully. Senator Kinsey was at the SGC and I was ignoring the camera crew while in the large debriefing room. The Major in charge thanked me for the armor cause it saved their asses on more than one occasion.

I nodded and told him there was a flaw in the armor that was apparent now. I explained that in prolonged firefights it seems the ground can only take so much heat given off through their boots hence the forest fire and the near magma levels of dirt at their feet at the time. I told them I'd have to look into developing a secondary release perhaps through flight capabilities or more weapons.

They liked the sound of that but I ignored that and one said his boots got so hot it felt like they were melting. I frowned and said there must've been a serious flaw to cause damage to the neutronium composite capacitors. He said it was a joke and Jack said. "Ladies and gentlemen, proof he's an alien. I e been saying for years now that his sense of humor is almost Jaffa level stoic."

I scowled and they all laughed while Sam said I was quite funny. Jack said that was because she was an egg head like me. She scowled and more laughter rang out before General Hammond gave them all props for their efforts in saving the five men from enemy forces and under the hail of hatak and Alkesh fire. I spoke up then. "The ruins were ancient and with Anubis looking it means he's after a repository. We need to be on the lookout for any others as well and either use it to find Atlantis, ZPMs to power the outpost and Atlantis or destroy them if we can't extract them before his people arrive."

General Hammond agreed and asked how we'd get the information. I held up the Asgard stone. "Sam or Jack looks into and downloads the information. When they get the knowledge we need and record it, I erase it all from their subconscious with this before it can kill them. Jack would be the best as his genes are stronger meaning his mind is more evolved to hold massive quantities of information, even if he wastes it on cartoons and jokes."

The men laughed and Daniel gave them all a briefing on the ancient language and more specifically the words repository, knowledge and legacy. Jack asked about the one possibly on the planet we'd just left and I shook my head. "That was a former city like Vis Uban being built as a Mecca of trade for my people back before the plague. It was left incomplete and like Vis Uban has fallen into ruins. It won't have a repository or any form of power source."

They all relaxed and we continued with the briefing before General Hammond dismissed us all. He and Senator Kinsey argued in his office before the senator left and the camera crew went a while later. Shit went down when some idiots cloned a goals in Harsesis form and it built a bomber had to disarm which wasn't hard. Still, she killed her creators and we killed her in the end.

I was told Seth and all the goa'uld captured on earth were killed finally after the SGC and the NID came to an agreement that they were too dangerous to be kept on earth. General Hammond assured me they were all dealt with and incinerated while the useful intel was shared with our allies. A new president, Henry Hayes, was elected with senator Kinsey as his Vice President.

I was busy adding quarantine vents and other things to the gate room and SGC along with ensuring the computers were capable of determining who was a threat and who wasn't to protect the base. There were a few hiccups and scares but everyone was alive and well once it was finished. More advanced scanners were put in the gate room to the point of being Lantean technology as well.

The whole base received them and the new scanners could not only determine threats to quarantine but who was human and who wasn't as well as differentiate between them and detect ascended beings which was my favorite differential. I finished just before we got word that a team found the repository of knowledge we were looking for and worse word came after Jack downloaded it and I carried him to the gate under fire.

Bra'tac came with news that Anubis was gathering the full force of his fleet to attack earth in three days. What made things worse was General Hammond was replaced by Dr.Elizabeth Weir and Vice President Kinsey was strutting around and making veiled threats. When he told me I was lucky not to be carted off to a lab, he doubled over holding his heart right there in the conference room. I asked him coldly. "What's wrong? Is it your heart? I'd be careful Kinsey, or the next one may have you greeting your God in person rather than thinking you're some chosen one by him."

His face was red and I sat back as he was able to get off the table and say he was fine. He was pissed and wanted me in chains but I asked him if he was sure his poor heart could handle such a thing. He told the Airmen to back off and I told him. "I despise politics, I despise liars and I hate you Kinsey, with an anger that could burn you alive. I don't recommend you push me when you poor heart can barely handle the stress of your own bullshit."

He stormed off and Dr.Weir asked if I did that. I asked her. "Did what? Cause you're going to have to be very specific and make sure you want the answer first."

She sighed. "Anyways."

Jack took it from there and said that if he finds the intel we need to defend earth, he wanted to know if she'd let us go and get the ZPMs. She agreed and a couple days later Jack was very focused. We took the cargo ship and our suits to a planet in cataclysm where we found the outpost Proclerush Taonas. There we took the ZPM and headed back to earth rather quickly.

We made it before Anubis's fleet and I erased Jack's subconscious of the repository after he gave us the intel on the other outposts being recorded. From there I used the chair when Anubis attacked to wipe out the fleet with drones. The platform was deemed too dangerous by the coalition and they argued over jurisdiction over it as the most powerful weapon earth had. In the meantime I suggested the President send General Hammond to Taonas and extract all the drones as well as the weapons platform to be integrated into the ship's systems and should they find a viable candidate, controlled in the war against the goa'uld.

President Hayes agreed and Jack was made a Brigadier General before being assigned to the SGC instead of Dr.Weir who was gathering a team to study the weapons platform and hopefully find Atlantis's location. It took a full three months before the coalition agreed to let scientists in to the chair to study how it works and more importantly, me into it to find all the information we needed.

I found the partial gate address to Atlantis and Daniel figured it out while I gave the SGC a list of all ancient outposts, worlds and facilities the outpost chair had knowledge of. There were hundreds, but only a dozen or so that were retrofitted with drones, a shield and ZPMs like this one had. Taonas was one of them so we knew we were on the right track.

They went and those that weren't goa'uld occupied worlds had dead ZPMs except one that was only half depleted. Earth's drone chair was fully stocked and I took the rest of the drones telling them Atlantis may need them because we were nearly depleted when we a abandoned the city. Sam asked if I was really going to go and I cupped her face, telling her she knew I had to. Jack agreed to send her as well knowing it would be extremely hard for our marriage if she didn't.

He did have the smarts to promote her to Lt.Colonel just before Anubis came trying to get through the gate. Jack stuck me in a locked corridor with him and energy shields preventing him from passing through without using his ascended pours. I told him with a smile. "Use your ascended powers, get out of here before your host dies and the field powered by a potentia starts to drain your energies. Go on."

He asked what made me sure he wouldn't possess me and break out with my body. I shrugged. "I can't die by your crap but that doesn't mean you'll get free of here in my body. I'm not all powerful and neither are you kid. We aren't gods and we have no right to pretend otherwise."

He said I had him trapped seemingly, but only if he feared me. He sneered. "Why fear you when I can just become you?"

The body fell and I felt him enter my own body which was a huge mistake because the slayer essence in me was looking for a fight. I ascended in a bright light and the slayer essence in me destroyed his essence utterly. It was what the others feared, that part of me that wasn't remotely human. Oma Desala appeared before thanking me.

I shrugged and reformer telling her while we hid from human eyes that I didn't do it for her, I did it for those she could help and because he pissed me off. She smiled and I descended fully before nodding to Jack. "It's just Oma in here now that the sensors are picking up. Drop the shields, Anubis is dead for good."

The shields came down and I watched Oma help the Russian Colonel ascend. Jack and the others saw it and I sighed. "There was no repairing his body after Anubis inhabited it so Oma helped him release his burdens and ascend."
