I headed through the gate and Oberon was there with the angry Asurans. I sighed and touched his face sadly as the gate shut off. "I wanted to remove the aggression from you when you asked but the council interfered, you know this. They refused to see you as more than weapons and when you lashed out like children would, they went over my head and destroyed Asura. I wept for you my son, never think I didn't otherwise. You were my greatest achievement even after I first ascended. Life beyond the flesh, where kindness and heart could be found in even the artificial bodies."
He flinched and asked. "And now?"
I smiled as I pulled my hand back. "The council is gone and they can no longer stop me from correcting their mistakes. You and all Asurans will be free of the aggression and if you so choose, help me in fixing the mistakes of the others. If you choose not to you may seek your own form of ascension, I will help in giving you the knowledge I have of how to do so. From the moment you felt, thought and wanted more, I never once thought of using you as weapons. I wanted you all to be happy, to learn, to feel and perhaps one day feel content."
They escorted me to the master substation and I altered their base code. When I stopped, they all went through an update and with a word they were reduced to nano particles all across the planet, all at once. I erased their backups and sighed. "It was the mistake of the high council to use you for war and it was my mistake to let it go so far. I never wanted this, but the lives you destroyed in the war were too many and that lay on my shoulders as your creator. I will not allow you to be unleashed again now or ever."
I erased all their backups, ensuring they'd never be recovered in any shape or form. After that I gathered the potentia which were in the hundreds and headed back to Atlantis in the single city ship they'd made to imitate Atlantis. I landed the ship and docked it next to Atlantis before cloaking it and walking passed the Hippaforalkus to the main building. I caught a transporter to the tower and told them as I arrived. "It is done. The Asurans are no longer a threat to anyone and are gone for good. I've taken their potentia so feel free to strip the planet bare of neutronium and build ships. The city ship I took doesn't have the gate so you can still get there."
Sam told the Lanteans to take three potentia to the second city ship and bring it here. She then pulled me away as I left the three potentia for them. She knew I felt like shit and that I'd hated doing it, but that it'd had to be done, they'd agreed and told me as much when I brought up the idea. I finally rested for the first time since I arrived back on Atlantis in over a month.
The next day I sent the drones to the Genii and the third city ship docked. They were all up to the Atlantis specs now so we fixed the Tarranis outpost and agreed to protect the people there while we built ships in the dockyard. Drones went with my second suit and emptied Asuras of Neutronium, even repurposing the dead nanites. A fleet of fifteen Lantean war ships were made, stocked with drones and manned once the Aurora returned with the Tria.
When the bio-weapon was finished, all ships were armed and we went out, attacking the wraith fleet, destroying their ships with a single bio-drone apiece that eroded the ships and left the wraith floating in space. Beam weapons wiped out the darts as we systematically wiped out all their ships from planet to planet or in space battles. A coalition of the many worlds headed by the Genii moved in behind us attacking the wraiths on the ground while ships gave air support.
Soon the waking wraith were on the run or defensive where they could be as their people were wiped out. A planet destroying bomb was released on the Iratus bug home worlds and wiped them all out. Nearly twenty ships took on more than three times our number and within weeks those apposing us were doing so from the ground. The wraith cloning facilities were hit next and even the wraith ship under Atlantis got hit and dissolved.
The wraith queen made as far as outside the shut down drilling platform before she was hit by a drone from a submersible jumper. Another wraith ship on a planet near the sun of Atlantis was hit and it only got more thorough from there. A group called the Travelers joined in the wraith hunt in exchange for repairs and upgrades to their ships as well as the knowledge on how to build more of their types of ships.
In the end we were scanning from planet to planet for any wraith survivors. Occasionally we found some but it was a relatively small galaxy with only a few hundred planets with habitable atmospheres. Once all the planets with stargates on or around them were confirmed to have no wraith survivors, I set my second suit on the Hippaforalkus and sent it to find and eliminate all wraith in this galaxy before returning.
When I declared the war over, I was told the Genii killed a man because he was harboring a wraith female he called his daughter. I shook my head sadly and reported to the newly formed council of what I'd done with my newer suit and the Hippaforalkus once all the worlds were cleared of wraiths and their cloning facilities.
Cowen said his people had a few before the war, but they dealt with them before joining us on the battlefield. I nodded and told him. "The knowledge your people had before the first wraith war will be copied and returned to you as Atlantis records all such things so your people may recover fully."
I turned to the others and told them. "All of your peoples and knowledge may recover now, but it is time to admit something."
Helia, the captain of the Tria, stood up, stopping me and telling them. "What chancellor Oz is eluding to is the fact that a group of Lanteans went against the council's orders and experimented with his blood and the Iratus bug on the early Athosians which resulted in the creation of the first wraith. It was their attempt at making themselves immortal like chancellor Oz here and why he hated the wraith so much. That is because he'd trusted the council of before to safeguard it and use it wisely instead of such a thing being made against his wishes."
The leaders of the other worlds were shocked and I explained my age, my reluctance to trust even the ancients back then but the fact that I'd been nearly alone for ten million years. I told them of my only friend being the dragon whose bones and skeleton covers the mainland which is why it looks so odd now, because he died protecting the last of the ancients and me during the last hours of the war.
I explained sadly. "My closest friend for more than fifteen million years and he dies protecting the people that created the beings that killed him. For the longest time I blamed myself for even giving them my blood because I'd hoped they could become immortal so I wouldn't be alone. In the end it cost me more than any of you can imagine and I was forced to realize those responsible were already long dead, the first victims of the wraith."
I looked to them and sighed. "We are not perfect and I will understand if your people want us gone, but we are willing to help you rebuild and do what we can to keep this or anything like this from ever happening again. That's all I can promise as I am but one voice amongst many."
Cowen didn't want us gone, he wanted our technology as compensation. There were various views, but Ronan of Sateda, one of the last of his people, spoke up. "I don't blame you. You couldn't change it and it isn't your fault. If you want to stay then stay, you're still the ancestors after all regardless of your mistakes."
That opened up a whole new side of the debate and the Athosians said they didn't blame us either as we were not the ones responsible, saying those that were had long since died. The Genii lost their position amongst the coalition as the leaders when Helia told them it was against our laws to give advanced technology to those who do not understand it and while we were giving them the knowledge they'd lost, it was far from what Atlantis was capable of so we would not share it with them.
I spoke up. "But we will send our people to your worlds if they are welcome to teach you of the knowledge you've lost and help explain it to you. That much is the least we can offer you."
Helia frowned but agreed while Dawson did as well so the coalition was happy enough. I turned to Ronan and told him. "Sateda is in ruins and I cannot bring your people back, but if you want, I can offer you a place here. I can teach you my experience in war and battle, show you things few have ever witnessed and perhaps you can find a place for yourself that you can call home again."
He nodded and I touched his shoulder, healing his scars away before I told him what I'd done and that he no longer needed reminders of that part of his life. He asked about my scars and I told him that I cannot heal them even now as they are beyond my power to heal myself. A week later a storm covered the planet and the shields of the three city ships stopped the giant wave that came. I spent time teaching Sam technology so advanced she had to take her time and when I wasn't doing that I was teaching Ronan or off world teaching the Athosians who insisted I be the one to do it.
I sent the bots to dismantle and remove all Lantean technologies from each world out there that wasn't being used by us. More and more bots were made and sent out while I kept busy for nearly a full year before the Athosians had their city built and their schools filled with books helping them learn what remained of what they lost. They hadn't been nearly as advanced as the other civilizations so I was needed elsewhere. Sam was learning now via a virtual chair I built for her and Ronan was as well though entirely different things and far faster than they realized due to the mind taking in information faster than the eyes and body.
I hadn't taught them personally for more than a month before I'd begun teaching others more actively. The Travelers had their ships fully repaired and the knowledge on them given in virtual teaching chairs aboard their ships. Most of the galaxy had been wiped of Lantean technology while I'd removed the social satellites from all the worlds relying on the Lantean studies.
The only ones still stuck in their pasts were the Genii who'd tried to detain the Lanteans sent to teach them. They'd been given the database of knowledge and the stargate had been removed from their world for their actions. All the Genii off world were rounded up and sent back to the Genii home world so all of the galaxy knew the price of harming or otherwise locking up a Lantean.
It had been something Helia had insisted on. She wanted the Atlantis expedition gone as well, but it was a matter of contention especially when Faora returned to Atlantis with Amara, the ancient female who started the plague. She had been kept in stasis and Faora thought it best she bring her here before telling us the humans of earth were in need of assistance facing the goa'uld.
