A Brave New World

After meeting the teams that came from all corners of the world Mr. Adam made sure that every player who was a part of this task force was not required to play, "this is a team of volunteers. You've all come this far, you have until you log it to change your mind. You're not obligated to play as demons either, just keep in mind that if you do decide to play as angels, you have to be careful about how you interact with demon players."

With that everyone was dismissed to log in for the day. Asuna and Kazuto's hands were clasped together as they walked through the hallway and passed the individual rooms set up for players to dive. When they got to Asuna's assigned room they hesitate there and he looks at her remembering when he asked her to stay back in SAO and she told him that wasn't possible and if he died in game she would kill herself. Despite the memory he tried. "Is there any way I can convince you to play as an angel?"

She laughs without humor before speaking. "I think you know my answer. Where you go I go." He slowly blinks and nods his head, he had to at least give it a shot on the off chance she would say yes. With a small smile he opened the door for her and walked in after.

The room is nothing like the cold hospital rooms they expected. Yes there was an attendant to help get the vital monitoring system set up, but even she was dressed more casually. There is a queen sized bed with a brown comforter and next to it, on the bedside table sat the gear necessary for the game. On the end of the bed is pair of grey pajamas if someone wants to change into them for comfort. The room is warm and lowly lit by just a few lamps around the room to show that there is a small living room and kitchenette with a door that leads into a basic bathroom.

The nurse, in her jeans and grey zip up sweater stands and sets her book down before approaching the couple. "Welcome Asuna. My name is Hanna, I'm here to keep an eye on you, make sure that you take scheduled breaks, and anything else you may need. Once Mr. Kirigaya goes to his room to meet his nurse we will go over your schedule and plan your meals."

They both squeeze tighter and Asuna speaks as firm as she can. "Would it be possible to put us both in the same room."

Hanna sighs and does her best to hide her slight irritation. "I'm afraid not. As you can see there is a whole set up to keep an eye on your vitals" she gestures to the computer on the opposite side of the bed as the gaming equipment. "His room is right next to yours though and his nurse and I have already planned that your meals be at the same time so you won't be in the game without each other if you stick to the schedule." She smiles polite and firm.

Kazuto turns to Asuna and pressed his forehead to hers. "I'll eat all of my meals in here with you."

Hanna smirks as she huffs before speaking. "I'm not sure that I'd advice doing that. I promise I'm not trying to keep the two of you apart, but if you go to far from your room the wireless sensors loose their signal and it can take awhile to get them recalibrated..." she raises a shoulder and a corner of her mouth in an attempt to not look so mean to the clearly in love couple.

When they looked back to each other he faked a smile. "Okay, it's only to eat and take care of things anyway. As soon as we get this thing beat—" he had more to say but Asuna leaned forward and pressed her lips to him until he relaxed from the sudden somewhat public display of affection and kisses her back.

They pull apart from each other smiling. And Asuna speaks in a reassuring tone. "When this is over we are getting married in real life and for a very long time we are taking a break from the virtual world and we won't need to be in separate rooms." He nods, determination fills his expression as he lets go of her hand and heads to his room.

It's like a mirror image of her room, nurse, Jaime, and all with a similar greeting. Once they get his meals planned it's time to get the sensors set up and log in to Armageddon.

He pulls the head gear on and lays back. "Jaime, do I need to say something to get it to start?"

Behind the glass shield he sees the dark haired nurse's kind smile. "Nope. There's a button right above your left temple, as soon as you press it it should start."

Sure enough, the moment the button clicks his vision spins and distorts and soon is being overpowered with red, black, grey and white swirls until suddenly stopping at what must be the main menu. A white room with a screen to type his username. After entering his usual username a large mirror appears in front of him and scans his body. When the scan is completed an angel Kazuto appears on the left of the mirror and a demon on the the other.

The angel Kazuto speaks first, no sound though, just a text bubble. "Welcome to Armageddon Kirito."

The demon Kirito speaks next. "It's time to make you choice as which path you want to take. The path of hard work with fair and just compensation for your work with the angels or the path of fun with my team."

The angel smiles and tilts his head. "It's your choice!"

Kirito points to the demon with a sigh. "Let's get this over with."

The entire space around him closes into darkness and slowly an ancient city appears before him.

Asuna blinked a few times as the city made up of simple stone houses finished building in front of her.once the image establishes she begins to walk into the city. When she reaches the center of what seems like an ancient ghost town she seems Kirito, slowly walking through the dusty streets with his usual swagger dressed in a black turtle neck, pants, combat boot. The long coat he had on was also black, but the inner lining was a scarlet red that matches the shade of his eyes and the red and black bat like wings, dark horns and black tail that ends in a crimson flame. The sight of him makes her heart rate increase a little (which Hanna marks in the records of her vitals with a sigh and eye roll).

He speeds up until they reach each other, drooling as he eyes her up and down several times in her shorts black pleated skirt, corset top, thigh high boots with white and ice blue details that match her wings, horns, and tail like his. Her hair is done in her usual style, except it's white and her caramel colored eyes are now the same blue as her outfit. He was pretty confident his real body was about to itch a tent, which only embarrassed him because of Jaime being with his real body. "Have you seen anyone? I haven't seen any NPC in the houses I checked..." his eyebrows are wrinkled together in the middle until she grabs his hand. He speaks with a deep sadness, "I already miss your real touch…"

Asuna smiles warmly. "Me too."

Kirito smiles at her words and swipes his hand down, then up, then he tries his other hand and Asuna laughs as she watches him getting frustrated.

"Left to right." She giggles.

"Huh?" His eyebrow twitches as he moves one of his arms left to right and it's as if the movement drags the menu in to his view.

"I told you that should have read more of the files." She smirks as she pull her own menu over.

"When did you have time to read more? You crashed with me on the bed after… and you were in the bed when I woke up. We've barely been apart…"

Asuna's eye shift as she scrolls through the screen and checks for the log out option, relieved to see it she replies. "I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't really get back to sleep for awhile, so I read through the rest of the files for awhile and crawled back in bed."

His menu was up but he was focused on his Asuna on the other side of the floating graphics. "What woke you up?"

Her shoulders shrug. "I just didn't really feel well. Probably just from adjusting after the plan ride and timezone shift."

Kirito shifts his gaze back to the menu. "This is pretty cool, I can access my emails and cellphone, so I could still be contacting someone IRL, even while in the game." He scrolls through his emails until he finds what he was hoping for. Before tapping the link he looks up to Asuna again who is looking at him. "Ready?"

"Yes." She smiles and he presses the link.

A small spinning black whole appears in the sky between them and from it Yui emerges dressed in a black and purple version of her usual attire, her ears are pointy and she has a pair of dark purple wings When she smiles sharp tiny fangs are reveal just moments before pulling her parents into a hug. "Mommy! Daddy! You didn't forget me!"

Her parents chuckle as she buries her face into her dads chest. Kirito pats his daughter's head, being careful to not get poked by the tiny sharp purple horns on top.
