It is already been hours that I'm walking, how far is the town? The indication panel never said it was such a long way to it... Also, how long has it been that I'm not eating? I know I arrived here whilst it was night in real life however it was early morning in here, now it seems to be late afternoon, did I actually skip both breakfast and luch?! Now, this is the weirdest thing, even though when playing virtually eating is necessary just to heal yourself here is totally different. In fact, fiddling around a bit with the different panels I found out I have three kinds of physicly affecting stats, these being health, energy and hunger. Apparently having low amount of the first two or too much of the third could affect me in many different ways and they can also limit each other as well. Just as example if I have low energy there is a limit to the use of my abilities but also if I have high hunger than I have a limit on my health which then goes to affect my strength... Indeed many rules in this place, really... I bet they never have problems with law and giurisdiction if they are able to create such complex kind of rules system...
Anyways the point is: or I arrive to the town or I'll die from starving and I don't really want to know what happens if I die here... I suddenly came to a bridge. A green panel popped in front of me, it was asking for a fee... I had to PAY to go to the other side? Why didn't anyone warn me about this? How could I get to the other side now, I had no money with me! Actually, I didn't even know how the currency system worked in this game! What more things do I have to do to return to my little, comfortable house? Sell my soul???
I was really frustrated, the system was playing with me... What other explanation could I make? I followed the river to the left searching for another way that didn't require such kind of payment, but in vain. The only other way I found was trying to walk onto an old fallen tree which, if I was able to mantain my equilibrium and to not fall, would have made a natural bridge to the other side. However, there was one side issue... That imponent tree didn't seem to be secured really well, it would probably start rolling away in the first instant I would put my foot on it. Said that I had a great inconvenient with an entire forest just a few hours ago I wasn't really giving that much trust to plants anymore... So that idea also got scrapped.
A sudden thought came to my mind, what an idiot I was, I could easily use levitation and fly my way to the other side! I had just the right amount of energy (and so mana as I learned) to do this. After floating for what was a good 10 minutes I finally made it to the safe land, my journey continued! But it was already dark, my thoughts of arriving to the town in time faded, my hunger bar full and my health poor. Hope was now to be given onto fate, I really didn't know what to do... And I saw it, a golden floating rock just like the purple one I saw at the start, different only in colour. I quickly ran towards it, desperately trying to arrive there soon before my strength collapsed due to the low amount of health.
It was great, the shining piece of mineral seemed to emit its own light in the howling darkness which invaded that strange, full of monster world. I nearly forgot to activate it hypnotized by its splendor. But only nearly because i did, and a golden panel opened straight away. It said: "Welcome to the lands of Newbridge, the town is far 100 metres exactly from here, if you are a seeker than make use of the provided supplies by showing your license. Be aware of dangers, night can bring monsters and even worse beings with itself."
Wonderful! That was perfect but I didn't have any license, how could I access to emergency supplies? And what was a seeker? I really was desperate... I tried to figure out where they were hidden, I did know apparently teleportation exists but i don't think something in this kind of area did make use of it as it would have been a huge waste of resources. Therefore the supplies were definitely somewhere near, but where? I had an idea, I knew Danger Reveal could sense dangers passivly but what if I tried to use it by myself actively? I could think deeply that the supplies were enemies and I had to stay away from them and the ability would do the rest hy itself trying to defend me! It was actually harder than what I thought but I did it, and found what I was searching for.
There was all what i needed, a tent, some food for dinner and a torch with some matches to light it (yeah, I actually meant that kind of torch when saying it, not an electric one) with a placeholder to avoid having to hold it all the time. Now I was ready to survive till the next day, maybe not all hope was lost, I could arrive to the town in a short time if I walked at a constant pace the next day. Everything was going to be perfect, I was slowly making my way towards my escape - which I still didn't what was - and was progressing well, my future calling my name in the far distance as the wind silently whispered in the night.
