At the gates

'I AM HERE!', this what I yelled kneeling in front of the gates of Newbridge Town, after such a long time I did it! I was already dreaming of whatever I would do in town, find a place to stay, eat somewhere decent and something decent, stay away from monsters for a while, see people who aren't magical and strange, and lastly most important of all: finding clues about an escape.

I promptly walked in front of the guards but as I was going to step in they used their pikes to sting me. They weren't normal pikes for sure, those gave me an electric shock, they were like tasers! I was paralysed, they were taking me somewhere... But where? I could do nothing but wait, why did I have the sensation that the world was playing with me again? I was bounced between issues and enemies continuously, what now?

We arrived to a building which seemed like a prison and they took me in. After that they left me on the floor of a dark, dull, empty room. Really? That was their best? They took me there to leave me there? I thought of something more evil or at least of more dignity like trying to kill me, but this?! Well, better for me, once I would have had an escape plan I could sneak out and return back. But wait! Weren't they the town guards? There must be something going on, they won't let me in? They aren't enemies then but why did they take me here? I had no idea, but they seemed to do as they opened the only door and let an imponent figure enter...

They told me he was the captain of the East Corp, the group of guards which protects and has jurisdic power over the East zone of the town. That made me think, then the town was divided in zones? And they all had different corps of guards protecting them? That made sense, maybe... I didn't remember much of his visit due to me never seeing him properly due to being still paralysed in an uncomfortable position due to those taser-pikes but I remember his words.

"Who are you person?" he said, I was going to start telling him the same stuff I told Lavreol when he just stopped me.

"No, you seem to not understand inferior brat, don't you? I'll repeat my question, who are you?".

"I was just going to say that, I'm Cerys Shawl, an-", he stopped me again.

"So you really don't understand... Are you the one thief who made use of the resources who were destinated to seeker's coming to the town?"

I replied, "Yes but not as a thief, as a visitor, I also was planning to come here in town!".

"You didn't have a license, you took those resources and you destroyed the gate charms! You are going to pay for this!"

Gate charms? What was he talking about? Really I had no way to pay anyways, I still didn't know how the currency system worked in this game... Cause it was still a game, wasn't it? It had elements from videogames, from fantasy books and real life but really this all seemed to realistic for being only an rpg game as I thought in the beginning, no, this was more, this was a completely different world and I realised just now, all the people, all the things, all real... It was the only explanation, and the game mechanics could be explained by magic...

But that was not the time to reflect on that, I was still imprisoned... The captain talked again "You will be sentenced to 2 years of prison, this is my virdict." What was he, a judge? But probably he had the power to behave like this or he wouldn't... I had to find myself a way to evade, till now it was only been luck which saved me.And luck saved me again it seems because the captain suddenly changed idea...

"Do... do you have any special ability? Like seeing darkness, or visualizing purple panels?"

Did he say purple panels? Of course! Like the one on the first day! I quickly answered yes, maybe that would take me out of this situation...

He said "Than I'll let you go, you have a mission to accomplish... I suggest you become a seeker soon though or you amy not be able to find the escape you are searching for..."

One of the two guards who took me here seemed disappointed:

"But sir, he is a thief and we can't-"

Fortunately the captain was now on my side, what a role twist...

"Guard 122, Jeremy Fly, do you really want to leave this job, don't you? If I said the prisoner is free, he is free! I know what I say, this person here has an important mission to accomplish!"

Wow, seemed like he knew more than me what I had to do, maybe I could ask for more information... But it was too late, everything disappeared and reappeared but now I was again in front of the gate, but this time there were some kind of runic symbols on coloured flags attached to it, so those were the charms the captain was talking about! It felt different like if something changed, one of the guards-Jeremy, was it?- approached me and said, "Welcome to Newbridge Town East, this is your last reset point and checkpoint so you got teleported right here after the parallel events, please do not give much importance to what happened and enjoy your visit.

There was something that was being hided from me, also what was a reset point? There was no way to find out so I entered the town, there had been some strange events these days, what happened at the Tower of Furthest Sight and now this, there are forces here which I can't understand... And I had to learn to control them if I had to find an escape, that was part of my mission, game or not game, this became now my life.
