At 4 am in the mountains everything is eerily quite but that is how they like it when hunting. With the lack of noise they can hear when branches break and leaves rustle.
"Do you think we will find anything today I was so disappointed yesterday" Xander said to Miles
Miles just looked at him glaring before he replied, "Not if you don't shut the hell up"
They sat there in silence for 2 hours before they heard branches snapping and snapping rapidly. They both got their weapons ready to take care of the thing that was making such a noise. As they patiently waited the sounds grew nearer. The closer the noise got the more excited the men got. Finally the sounds were right upon them, they drew their iron swords as a purple light came towards them. Xander readied his sword and started to swing at the light when Miles caught his arm stopping him from swinging his sword. The light ran past them so fast and Xander was pissed.
"WHAT THE HELL!" Xander exploded on Miles turning his sword on his twin brother. Anger flaring in his eyes he spit out the next words in very slow, very annoyed, and extremely disgusted manner. "You. Better. Have. One. Hell. Of. A. Good. Reason. For. Stopping. Me!"
Miles rubbed the back of his neck thinking cautiously on how to explain to his brother what just happened. He knew that if he could just make him see what he saw he would understand but how when he didn't understand what he just seen himself.
He chewed on his lip for a minute in deep thought before his brother whacked him upside that back of his head impatiently.
Finally, Miles spoke and said the last thing his brother ever thought he would hear come out of his womanizing, never settling down, woman hating brothers's mouth.
"It was her, the girl the girl from when we were younger, the girl you said that I made up, the girl from The Forest of Songs. The girl I said I would marry one day. The girl no other has ever come close to. It was her a 12 year older version but I know it was her."
Xander cocked his eyebrow at his brother and before he could speak they got knocked over by two more flashes of light, a red one and a black one. As if seeing for the first time the two men's eyes flashed and they could see the flashes weren't flashes but men with swords. For as long as either of them could remember the flashes of light were just that flashes of light that if taken down with iron weapons turned into ground crystals.
Today though, they were actually people. What kind of people or maybe creatures that look humanoid, they aren't truly sure, but today they could actually see them. All of a sudden they have been awakened to the actual look of the flashes of light.
It was as if a veil had been lifted and when it was, Miles felt like the most foul of creatures. All these many years he was actually killing and not just neutralizing light into crystal form. He and his brother and many other men in their kingdom had the blood of a mass killing spree on their hands.
"I...I need to go" Miles said throwing down his sword and heading towards his home.
Xander picked up his brothers sword and shrugged following behind in a slower pace not really bothered by what they just discovered.
Her Point of view.
In her mind all she thought of was escaping and getting back to her home. She had to get away from them before they caught her again and sold her to the Markaals. She was ,after all, a princess. The only born Princess of the Valaronas in 300 years. For 300 years only male heirs have been born she was an anomaly.
Today like every other day she went out and checked on her people making sure they were all safe and adhering to the boundaries set up by her father and herself to make sure no more lives would be taken by the mortals. On her way to the first area 2 males from the exiles snatch her up.
It didn't take her long to escape for the males were stupid and weak. They didn't give up though they just kept on following her. She tried to lose them by entering the mortal realm but still they followed. Hours of running and still they follow. She started running to a familiar area in the mortal forest on a mountain she remembered she loved when she was younger. She needed to lose them and she knew she could there.
That's when she spotted him. She knew it was him his looks never changed he just looked more mature and more handsome. Her first kiss, her first love, the only male she ever desired. She seen the sword and her heart crumbled. He was a killer, a killer of her people. As she got close she chanted "Fè yo wè"
She seen him, the male who broke her heart stop his mirror images sword. She saw his eyes go wide and seen a fire ignite in them. It almost made her want to stop but the 2 exiles were still chasing her. "It's for the best" she thought to herself. He is, after all, a murderer. She can't ever be with him. He isn't only a murderer but he also a mortal and being with a mortal his the worst kind of disgrace any Valaronas.
She has to try and marry another royal Valarona. They bloodline must stay pure. It is her duty as the only heir to the entire kingdom and the only female heir in 3 centuries. The three lords of the realm all had sons her age and she was sure one of them would be an outstanding match for her. She just had to make it back with out being caught.
Finally she got to the dark, thick forest. She hid in her old hiding tree, the place she would always hide from her bodyguards when she was younger, it was a bit smaller than she remembered. Minutes passed and she heard the two exiles run past her yelling at each other for losing her.
20 minutes passed and when she knew for sure that they weren't coming back that way she made her way to the border of the mortal and magical realm and crossed back over to her world right outside her castle gates. She let out a sigh of relief and hopped the walls before anyone knew she was missing.
