"He'll never find me in here." Miles thought to himself as he squeezed inside of a hollowed out tree that was facing a lake.
The lake was sparkling with the way the sun hit it. Making the crystal blue shine like a polished sapphire. He just stood there inside the tree staring at it like he was being drawn to its serenity.
In the distance he heard his brother calling his name. "Miles, Miles, where are you Miles? I give up! Come on Miles I want to go home." Xander huffed as he yelled. "Fine stay out here I'm going home and I'm telling momma!" Xander yelled as he stalked away.
Little did his brother know Miles couldn't hear his yells and his pleading, he was too busy staring at the creature that walked out of the lake.
He held his breath not realizing it as he watch her. He couldn't take his eyes off of her. Miles started walking toward the girl and didn't even realize it. To him she was the most beautiful girl he has every seen.
She was shorter than girls he is used to seeing, she had long black hair, black as ink, and when she turned it looked like it had turned a midnight blue. "What a wonderful trick of the sun." He said to himself still walking towards the girl with out concern.
"Hey boy! What are you staring at? Has no one ever informed you that it is rude to stare?" She yelled to him but she was staring herself. He was exquisite. His slender body with a golden colored skin. His hair was so shiny with the brown highlighting the blonde. He was like no boy she has ever come to meet in the mortal or magical realm.
As they stared at each other they both kept walking. As they got closer to one another the power they felt pulling them got stronger. When they finally stop they were only inches apart.
They couldn't take their eyes off of each other, he noticed that her eyes were an interesting shade of purple. No girl he has ever met had purple eyes. She got entranced by his eyes as they were the color of the stones that her uncles always went to gather on the long journeys. "These stones are the most powerful for protection magic, if your magic in you is strong enough you can channel it into one small stone and it will protect a family for hundreds of years." Her uncle Sylus once told her. She wondered if this boy would grow up to be a great protector.
"Hello, my...my name is Miles." He stuttered out shyly
"Nice to meet you Miles." The girl with purple eyes replied softly. She can't take her eyes off of him.
"How old are you?" She asks finally looking away.
"I'll be 18 in 3 days how about you? How old are you?"
She picks up a rock and thinks before replying. She simply responds by saying, "16"
For hours they sat there talking and skipping small flat rocks into the lake. They didn't even realize that the sun had started to set.
"I...I have to go or I'm going to get into trouble, my family is probably out looking for me. When can I see you again?" He asks smiling at her in hopes her answer will be soon very soon at least in the next 3 days.
She just looks at him and leans her head towards his and gently kisses him. This being his first kiss and not wanting the moment to end he wraps his arms around her and she smiles, a small giggle escaping as she pulls away. It was her first kiss as well and she didn't expect to feel anything like she felt.
"We will see." She finally answers before getting up and running away from him. She turns around and waves blowing him a kiss.
When he finally reached his home his parents and other siblings had all just been out looking for him. His mother, who was a lot scarier than his father, stood at the doorway waiting for him with a very stern look upon her face.
"Did you enjoy your freedom? I truly hope you did because until you move out on your own you are no longer permitted to leave our lands. All the time we spent lookin for you when so many other things could have been accomplished." The woman said in a more grated voice than he has ever heard from her.
"Was it worth it?" He repeated and only one answer came to his mind. It was worth a thousand years of imprisonment. It was worth losing his life over.
Later that night as his twin brother grilled him over where he was and why he didn't come home, Miles finally told him everything. To his dismay Xander didn't believe a word of it and told him no girl has purple eyes and no girl would ever kiss him the way he describe unless, that is, unless she is a loose willed woman who gets paid for such things. Not wanting to hear that Miles just stopped talking to his brother.
Miles woke up sweating and breathing erratically. His mind had recreated the day he had met her, the day that ruined any other woman's chances of ever having his love. Now 30 years old Miles was still single, he has bedded plenty of women, but never has one been able to keep him monogamous.
No one was ever her. The girl with purple eyes and ink black hair. Her skin was still as pale as the day they met. Her body although, changed quite a bit. She had more curves and was a little thicker. She was more amazing and more beautiful. He looked at the woman laying in his bed and chuckled as he got up and said "you are free to go at anytime. Thanks for the fun but you know my rules you have to leave now."
The woman rolled her eyes but did as instructed.
He didn't feel the least bit bad about it no one will ever stay in his house, in his bed, or in his heart. No one except her. It can only be her.
