HOW ARE THE OTHERS DOING
Meanwhile…
LI GROUP, PRESIDENT'S OFFICE
Chen Li sat at the president's chair and his hands were skimming through some documents. His assistant stood at the side reading some financial reports.
"The shopping mall did well. The returns this month are higher than that of last month. The entertainment parlor did not do so well. The second master of the Tang family caused another scandal…"
The assistant read through the reports. When Chen Li heard about this his head rose up.
"Scandal? What happened?"
His voice was low yet full of authority. The assistant shuddered after hearing this. Chen Li was known as a tyrant by many. At just twenty-five years of age, he had heralded the growth of the Li group which many thought was going to die during the economic crisis.
At thirty-one, he had already created a business empire.
In the capital, there was not a single person who was not afraid of him. His name brought shivers to many. Li group was in every business.
He set up hotels all of which became five stars in a short period of time, shopping malls, bars, entertainment joints, and even schools. His name was everywhere.
The assistant came back to his senses and reported, "He complained that his drink was served in the wrong glass and splashed. The glass shards injured one of the customers."
His voice came out in quivers. He was afraid of this man's wrath.
"Who did the glass injure?" Chen Li asked.
"The young miss of Ling family, Ling Wen." The assistant answered in sweat.
"Does Tang Xie have membership?"
"Yes"
"Revoke it." Chen Li's voice was final and in no time Tang Xie's membership to the Li Resort had been successfully revoked.
"Also, send Miss Ling some compensation."
"Alright," The assistant answered then proceeded with the presentation. As if he remembered something he announced, "Zhuang Li Yu is retiring."
Chen Li looked up. "That old man is retiring?"
Chen Li had tried to offer job opportunities to him but that old man had refused and even once sent him away with a cane. That old man was probably the only one in the whole capital who could treat Chen Li that way.
Chen Li laughed. "I wonder how that Xiao Lu is doing now."
The assistant was speechless. The Xiao Lu he was laughing at was his friend so it was safe to say that he was laughing at his friend's misfortune.
After the other had stopped laughing he continued. For some reason, Chen Li could not concentrate on anything. His mind kept wandering back to the lady he had seen back at the boutique. He did not know what had drawn him to her.
He surprisingly remembered everything about her. His heart beat madly in his chest that day. How good would it be if he were to see her again?

LING MANSION
Ling Wen was currently looking at the expensive goods she had received from Chen Li. Mo Yurou was beside her and was currently staring enviously at her.
Chen Li was a name that made people fear but every woman in the capital still wanted to marry him. Seeing him send gifts to Ling Wen, a lump suddenly formed in her throat.
The door was opened and Ling Wang and his wife stepped in.
"Wen Wen, what it all this?" her mother asked as she crossed the threshold and saw the gifts that littered the floor.
Mo Yurou got up and greeted the elders. "Auntie, Uncle do you know who sent the gifts over?" her voice was full of mischievousness.
The elders looked at each other. It was obvious that they did not know who either.
"It is Chen Li!" Mo Yurou shouted happily while Ling Wen blushed deeply.
"Chen Li? Wen'er do you know each other?" Ling Wang spoke, his voice full of excitement.
He had tried to strike many business deals with the other but was refused many times. Now that he had even sent his daughter gifts so blatantly it meant that…
He did not want to think about it anymore. Even thinking about it made him giddy with excitement.
Mrs. Lee moved forward and hugged her daughter's arms advising, "Wen'er, this is an opportunity you must never waste. You already know how many women want to cling to him in the capital so…"
She was first a mistress herself before so she knew the twists and turns of ensuring a man was yours.
The more she spoke the more her daughter blushed. At last Ling Wen nodded her head in understanding.
Little did she know that the Chen Li had already even forgotten about her name.
