CHEN LI'S ANGER

Ling Fen prepared for pain but it never came. What she felt though was her body being hugged tightly by someone she did not know. His head was placed next o a broad chest and she could feel the heavy heartbeat of the other. She wanted to move but her body was encased so tightly that she could not move even if she wanted to.

Chen Li's face on the other hand was as dark as the bottom of a pan. His breath was ragged and his heart beat madly. When Mo Yurou had thrown the soup at Ling Fen, he did not know what he was doing but his legs had already reacted and his hands had pulled her to protect her from the danger. The result was that he was the one who had been burnt instead.

The soup was scalding hot as he felt his back had been lit on fire.

Xiao Lu watched in horror while Yu Lili shouted, "Young master Chen!"

Her cries were loud that everyone had now gotten out to watch this scene. What they saw was far from what they had expected. Chen Li was still holding Ling Fen with his back wet from the soup that had poured on him earlier.

Mo Yurou and Ling Wen became stupefied. The latter was shocked while the former's heart suddenly became fearful.

What was Chen Li doing her?

Ling Fen got out from Chen Li's embrace and reproached, "What do you think you are doing?"

In all her life, she had never been this close to a man much less even hugged one. Her face was at the moment flushed and her breathing ragged. Chen Li watched this scene with a glint in his eyes. He liked her face so much that his burnt back did not seem to hurt anymore.

In all his life, he had never lost composure about any woman before. Back then when she saw her at the store, he was intrigued and he was attracted to her so deeply that it seemed as if a string was pulling him towards her.

When he saw her again outside Xiao Lu's hotel he could not help but feel as if fate was responsible for him seeing her again and now that someone was hurting her right before his eyes, he saw red and his body moved without his command.

Xiao Lu wanted to interrupt when he saw that Chen Li had turned and was now staring angrily at Mo Yurou and Ling Wen. His gaze was like a thousand knives and he saw just how much the two ladies were now cowering at his sight.

Even he was scared of an angry Chen Li what about the two women who now had sweat coming from their faces.

Chen Li directed his gaze to Mo Yurou. His eyes were sharp like laser beams while his voice was as cold as Antarctica as he asked, "What did you just do?"

Mo Yurou felt as if she could pee herself at this rate. The man's gaze made her feel uncomfortable. When she had been lecturing Lin Fen she had not noticed him standing at the door at all!

She was only looking to vent her pent-up anger, who knew she would meet Chen Li here out of all places. She was already feeling bad that he had rejected her but now he was protecting a mere chef of an unknown hotel in front of many people, this was making her lose face!

Chen Li's anger doubled when she did not answer him, "I am asking you a question, what did you just do?"

Mo Yurou moved closer to the corner and said in a meek voice, "I was only teaching an arrogant worker to know her place."

Her heart rested after saying this yet Xiao Lu came out of nowhere and said, "Teaching her a lesson…Miss Mo, don't you think that it is not your place to teach an employee of mine a lesson…is this not picking your nose where it does not belong?"

Mo Yurou glared at him angrily while the other workers looked at Xiao Lu as if they were seeing another different person. Ever since they started working here, Xiao Lu had always spoken slowly. Even when one was wrong, he only guided them patiently and disrespectful words had never gotten out of his mouth.

Xiao Lu looked at the scalded hand of Ling Fen and said, "My employee has suffered under you Miss Mo…how do you want to settle this?"

His words were said in a warm tone yet Mo Yurou felt as if they were daggers raining on her without stop. For some unknown reason, she felt afraid.
