Is this the best you can do?

BURNT

Ling Fen busied herself in the kitchen while Yu Lili and Ou Tingzi stared at her wearily, "Sister Feng you don't have to do this…" Yu Lili cried when she saw Ling Fen busying herself with cooking.

Ling Fen on the other hand mentally said, "I have to do this. Those two are not here for the food but to look for trouble!"

She just told Yu Lili not to worry and continued making the meal quickly. How could Yu Lili not worry, those two out there just from their appearances alone looked like high-class women so dealing with them would be really difficult. Although Yu Lili did not understand many things, at least she knew this which was why she was worried for Ling Fen.

Xiao Lu was not around which made things a hundred times harder. "I wish manager Lu was here," Ou Tingzi said as he sighed.

Although he was the head of the hotel, they all called him manager with respect because he treated them like family. The other person who they wished was here was Zhuang Li Yu. The old man really had a sharp tongue and in this situation, he would have already thrown the two out. Unfortunately, none of them was around.

Once the food was ready, one waitress carried it over to the two ladies and as if Ling Fen was expecting it, the waitress came back with a blanched face, "They are asking for the chef who cooked the meal."

Ling Fen scoffed and made her way outside. Mo Yurou had at the moment thrown the entire cutlery down on the floor while some of the soup had spilled on the table. Once she saw Ling Fen she started, "What is this?" her hands motioned for the food on the table. Ling Wen on the other hand just looked at the spectacle as if it had nothing to do with her.

She just sat there as Mo Yurou scolded Ling Fen. "Even a child of five years can cook better than this!"

She shouted loudly while she pushed away the food. The top of the bowl tilted slightly with her push and the soup spilled out and fell on Ling Fen's hand. The soup was a bit hot so she was immediately scalded but Mo Yurou could not care less.

Ling Fen shifted away when the soup burnt her. That place immediately became red and puffy. Ling Wen laughed internally while Mo Yurou continued to scold, "Why don't you just close this filthy place down if the food you make cannot satisfy the customer's standards!"

No matter how much she scolded, her anger still rose sharply. She did not notice that at the door right now, two people were currently standing while staring daggers in their direction.

Her voice continued to rise so much that the waiters had already fled to the kitchen. Yu Lili on the other hand was crying so badly that Ou Tingzi had to comfort her. Yu Lili was still young and back home; she was the only child, the apple of her parent's eyes.

They had never once scolded her and now that someone openly did, she could not help but feel wronged. She trotted outside in tears and that was when she saw Xiao Lu and Chen Li standing by the entrance.

She did not even have time to be flustered because of Chen Li, she ran over to Xiao Lu and cried, "Manager Lu…thank God you are here…..those two…..those two…." She could not continue because she was hiccupping badly.

Xiao Lu's face changed and she patted her on the back slowly while she asked, "What happened?"

He had just asked when another shout from Mo Yurou interrupted, "I want to speak to your manager right now!" Her words were followed by her hands sending the bowl of food flying towards Ling Fen's direction.

Ling Fen really wanted to give Mo Yurou a harsh slap on the face but she could not do so because she had landed this job a few weeks ago and she did not want to lose it because of a single moment of anger yet the other was getting too deep inside her nerves.

She wanted to act but Mo Yurou suddenly threw the bowl toward her. She did not have time to dodge which meant that the soup would pour all over her.

"Sister Fen!!" Yu Lili shouted from the door while Xiao Lu stared in horor.

Ling Fen was prepared for pain but it never came. When she looked up, she noticed that her body had been encased in a warm embrace.
