Roselyn glared at the back of Xander's head as she followed him out of the Shadow Beasts Store. The baby Ice Phoenix was now in his possession until their return to the academy as it wasn't a great idea for anyone to see her with the beast.
She was really done with the Shadow Realm and its rules that were doing nothing but making her life miserable with every passing day. She just wanted to return to her realm and take a long break to rejuvenate the energy that she had lost in the past few days all because of several men who had entered her life uninvited.
Though she was no longer in the mood to continue with their shopping, Xander insisted on visiting the last store for her to buy some clothes, and after realizing just how badly she needed clothes considering she had none in her possession, she decided to follow him and be done with it as soon as possible.
The shop they entered this time was probably one of the biggest in the entire market. It was a five storey building and pretty spacious, even the reception area was decorated beautifully.
"Welcome, My Lord and My Lady." A pretty woman who looked to be in her twenties greeted them at the reception. Her obsidian eyes sparkled as she immediately recognized Xander.
At this point, Roselyn had pretty much realized just how popular her mentor/guardian was. Every other person walking on the street seemed to recognize him. The women and girls looked at him with craving eyes and she could clearly see where they were coming from, while the men and boys looked at him with respect and admiration. Of course, there were several men whom she found looking at her mentor with desire-filled eyes too.
"Where's Madam Islinda?" Xander asked the receptionist as he looked around their surroundings. There were a few customers and employees present on the ground floor but they too had dropped their work to admire the man they didn't get to see very often.
"Oh, look who's here. It's my favorite Lord. How can I help you, Lord Xander?" A woman, who looked like she had just been to some sort of fashion show, suddenly appeared in front of them. Her silver hair was styled in a perfect bun. Her smoky eye makeup and dark lipstick matched the bold sparkly black gown she was wearing. And her jewelry, she seemed to love diamonds... a lot.
Xander gave a little nod of courtesy when the woman bowed in greeting. "This is my new assignment and a first-year student under Elite Bloods. Hope you can manage to suggest some good dresses and clothes for her. We will need a full wardrobe."
Roselyn felt like a little girl as the woman's grey eyes inspected her from head to toe. Besides, she wanted to say a few words about being described as an 'assignment' but then decided against it.
"My, my, she's such a beauty, and considering she's an elite blood, I'm sure my store's special editions will suit her perfectly. This way, My dear." The woman seemed too cheerful for some reason.
Roselyn spared a quick look in Xander's direction but the man wasn't looking at her at all. Letting out a sigh, she followed behind the woman who led her to the staircase leading to the upper floors. Instead of stopping by the first floor or the second, she found herself on the third floor which seemed to hold the said special collections that the store manager just mentioned.
She looked through the numerous clothes that a group of ladies brought forward for her on the Manager's order. Since it was the beginning of September and winter would arrive by the end of October, she decided to buy clothes accordingly. However, she didn't hold back at all, after all, her so-called soulmate was paying for everything.
She selected some jeans and trousers in several different shades and designs, shorts, skirts, sweaters, shirts, tops, hoodies, cardigans, stockings, and some really pretty overcoats.
Next, she found herself in the section of summer dresses and she grabbed all the pretty ones her eyes landed on. By the time she finished collecting clothes, she was sure that she had grabbed over thirty outfits if not less.
"My dear, you sure have great taste in fashion. How about some jewelry and accessories?" The manager came forward to suggest and handed her a glass of fruit juice.
"Sure, I'll love to. Your store really has a great collection." Roselyn said as she accepted the glass of juice but didn't drink it.
She got a beautiful wristwatch that probably cost a lot, she then chose some really pretty earrings, rings, bracelets, and some really pretty hair accessories. She then got some cosmetic stuff, and health care products, and then moved to the upper floor to select some shoes, heels, and handbags.
It was after an hour that she finally found herself on the top floor of the store where beautiful gowns were arranged in rows in different sizes and shades. "I don't think I'll need them." She whispered to herself as she turned around to leave but got stopped by the Manager.
"My dear, you should have at least one beautiful gown in your wardrobe. Who knows if you will need it at an unexpected event." The manager signaled toward the long rows of beautiful gowns.
Roselyn bit down on her lower lip as she contemplated whether to buy one or not and after a few moments of thinking, she just gave in to the temptation.
She looked through the various gowns, trying to find one that would call to her the most. "How about this one?" She asked the manager as she pointed at a black gown but the woman quickly shook her head in denial.
"Actually, I think I have a perfect gown just for you." Manager Islinda said with a sudden spark in her eyes as she signaled toward one of the employees. "Go and get me the new arrival from yesterday."
Roselyn waited for a couple of moments in anticipation and then finally got to see the special dress that immediately won her heart at the very first glance.
