How are feel

Julie didn't enjoy where their conversation was heading. She saw how Steven's facial expression changed after his remark and knew what he would say next was not something she would love to hear. Therefore, she decided that it was time for her to be open with him.

"Before you speak your mind, I want you to know that my heart is in pieces, and it has not entirely recovered from my experiences. It is a miracle that I could fall in love with you. Therefore, I need you to know that I am broken and have almost forgotten how to be in love. It may take a while for me to allow my heart to beat for you with no uncertainty. So if you don't think it's fair to you and don't wish to be in this relationship anymore. I will understand and won't blame you for leaving." Julie explained.

Her past was something that had hunted her from her teenage days till now, and she did not want to start this new relationship without Steven knowing her mental state and how prepared she was to be with him. Julie does not want this to be an issue in the nearer future if she can avoid it tonight. Although Julie wanted him to stay badly, she needed him to decide that on his own, even if he knew that she was not perfect.

Their phone screens unveil the unpleasant emotion on both their faces. They were having a discussion that none of them wished they would have said or thought about on the first day of being in love with each other.

Knowing that the other person felt the same way about the next person gives both Steven and Julie comfort. Yet deep inside their hearts, there were too many wounds that prevented Julie from loving Steven wholly, and Steven from being honest with her. The two of them did not believe the other person could handle what the next person had to say or what they had been through in the past.

Steven could see that Julie's eyes had turned watery after her remark. It hurt him so bad seeing her like this. Steven believed that he's getting penalized for something he had done in his past life. The fact that Steven had hurt his ex-lover, and he was about to cause pain to his girlfriend on the same night, felt like a punishment to him.

These situations were weighing on Steven's heart, and he wished that his love life could have been like the fairy tales where the boy falls in love with the girl, and the girl loves him back. Then they live happily ever after. Yet, reality seems to mock him with a complicated love story.

"I am sorry for getting emotional and serious. Sometimes I can't help ruining the moment." Julie said with a half-smile as she dried her eyes with her hands. Steven did not say a word, but he gave her a gentle smile to cheer her up.

"Um, what were you about to say before I interrupted?" Julie asked. She felt embarrassed that he had said nothing for almost two minutes, and she had just been vulnerable with him about her feelings.

Steven's smile gently fades as he strives to continue with his relaxed expression and confident act. Still, it felt wrong to him that men had to keep it together while women had the right to break down. But Steven also understands why he has to be so strong for his partner because falling apart will only leave her alone with no one to lean on emotionally.

"It does not matter, tonight. What I want you to know now is that I love you, and that includes all of you. The messed up and beautiful sides, I want them all with no doubt. You are now stuck with me. So don't push me away again because I have made my decision to stay, okay?" Steven replied.

Julie felt speechless. She could not be more in love with him than how much she was at that moment. Her mouth curved into this wide smile that made her feel like the luckiest woman in the world. Julie did not hide her joy or pretend like she had been doing in the past.

"I love you, too." She giggles happily.

After her confession, Steven and Julie's conversation was smooth for the night. Steven could not remove his gaze off her for a second, and her blushing made him, even more, attracted to her.

Two hours passed, and Chloe had cried herself to sleep. However, her phone buzzing noise woke her. Feeling exhausted and drowsy, Chloe carelessly looked at the caller's name. Her phone went swinging toward the wall and smashed into it after Chloe saw that Matt was the one calling.

"Beep!" The phone repeatedly vibrated even though the entire screen got cracked. She put her head under her pillow and pressed it tightly around her ears to block the noise, but that did not help.

Four minutes passed, and Chloe had it with all the commotion. She threw her blanket and pillow from above her, stepped her bare feet on the cold floor, and went for her phone. It was still buzzing when Chloe picked it up.

She seemed relieved that the touch did not get damaged as she slid her finger on its screen to answer Matt's call.

"What do you want from me?" Chloe screamed. She senses her hate for him increasing rapidly.

"Hello, Chloe. I have made a reservation for you and me at one of my favorite restaurants. I will pick you up from your home tomorrow by seven noon, so you need to dress classy. Now, now. Before you reply, I need you to remember that your family's wealth is nothing but trash to me. Therefore, if you make me mad, I might get rid of that rubbish for good. Is that clear?" Matt explained.

Chloe could not believe he could stand this low and be so despicable. She sat on the floor and rested her head against the wall. "Crystal clear!" Chloe mutters with trembling lips as tears roll from her eyes.
