Episode 14 : Catastrophe (7)

Somewhere in the sky, there were two angels flying in the middle of the sky, traveling as fast as they could to get back to the battle stadium.

"Sapphire! Are we there yet?!" Ruby spoke, flying closer to Sapphire.

Sapphire had a cold glare at Ruby as she told her. "How many times do you have to ask me that question?"

"Well.. I'm just curious."

"Even if you are curious, don't annoy me with the exact same question."

"But how far did that Dragon throw us? We didn't even know where we were when we clashed landed in a pond!"

"That isn't what's important! We need to get to the battle stadium before the situation gets any worse."

"Do you think Emerald might scold us..?"

Sapphire exhaled a sigh instead of giving a response to Ruby's question.

Soon after, both of them flew without making a single sound or even communicating to each other.

It was a noiseless yet awkward trip back to the battle stadium for them.

———

When the Dragon bursted out of the 'Web of Electrocution', a blast of flowers travelled incredibly fast through the air.

Despite knowing that the flowers weren't harmful, the reason that enraged me was the Dragon coming unscathed after having to receive me and my comrades's attacks.

And it seemed the amulet was transferring more of its power to the Dragon nonstop, empowering the Dragon as its green light slowly faded.

The Dragon having absorbed the power of the amulet, lowered her head to have a closer look at my face. [Hahah. Attacks me again and you'll waste your precious time on pointlessly tickling me with your skills.]

Even though the Dragon was close to my face, I didn't budge an inch and glared at the Dragon's fierce eyes.

"Don't underestimate us, weed." I clenched my fists, glaring daggers at the Dragon before disappearing completely in front of the Dragon.

[Imitation of 'Overdrive' Lv. 3 has activated.]

The Mother Nature Dragon became furious from being called a weed and growled with an ear-shattering volume, blasting out leafy flame from her mouth.

Swaying her head to surround herself with her fire, the Dragon thought by doing this, I wouldn't appear in front of her or land a blow at her.

[Imitation of 'Wave Vortex' Lv. 2 has activated.]

However, I reappeared behind the Dragon using 'Wave Vortex' now at level 2 to cancel out the Dragon's green fire, then I held onto my spear firmly.

The Dragon noticed me quickly and turned her head toward my direction, breathing fire at me.

I smirked after capturing the Dragon's attention on me, leaving my comrades to freely attack her in the front.

In that moment, the Dragon got startled and painicked, ruining her focus on inhaling air to produce her fire.

Despite losing focus and had to redo, the Dragon was still able to exhale her leafy fire at me.

Fortunately for me, it appeared that the 'Wave Vortex' is countering the Dragon's fire little by little.

It might have been because the skill, 'Wave Vortex' has gone up a level during the fight against the Dragon.

If it weren't for that, I would be burnt to a crisp. I should thank HwanGi for leveling up his skill in this kind of situation.

While the Dragon was preoccupied with me, my comrades rushed in and released their attacks on the Dragon's front.

Their attacks landed flawlessly on the amulet, not even hitting the young girl embedded as wood on the Dragon's body.

[Kwehh! Kwah!] The Dragon groaned, causing her to stop breathing fire at me and directed her flame toward my comrades.

When the Dragon ignored me, I used 'Wave Vortex' to travel in mid-air, sneakily hovering over to the Dragon's front side.

'I need to retrieve the girl and the amulet.' As I thought to myself, I got closer to where the amulet was.

Without a further to do, I touched the girl's face. The sensation of caressing her face was as if I was stroking a tree trunk.

This girl's expression wasn't expressing her fear of being a part of the Dragon, but instead, it was as though the girl was desperately pleading for help, looking depressed toward the amulet.

'Intriguing.'

Immediately, I grabbed the amulet, attempting to yank it out of the Dragon.

What greeted me was an explosion of magical energy coming at me from all directions as if it wants to swallow me whole.

The light in the color of green fading to red shone brilliantly in front of my eyes, blinding me when I looked at the amulet's gem.

Since the amulet has already given its power to the Dragon, it was mostly useless now without its power.

Although it was useless, it still has a function that will be advantageous for me, and it was why the Dragon was angrily trying to shake me off from her body.

[Get your filthy hands off me!] The Dragon bawled at me, hitting me with her wings to knock me out.

On the other hand, I didn't pay much attention toward the damages that I received from the Dragon.

All my focus was on the amulet, giving it my all to pull the amulet out of the Dragon until I stabbed my spear above the amulet, creating a hole for me to place a seed inside.

[Imitation of 'Wither' Lv. 3 has activated.]

Not only did 'Wave Vortex' level up, 'Wither' has also increased as well which would be the reason why there was a bundle of black vines crawling out from the hole where I put the seed.

The black vines grew from within the Dragon, breaking out while spreading its withering effect across the Dragon's body.

Since the hidden skill, 'Wither' was effective against the Mother Nature Dragon, it was able to reduce the Dragon's regeneration temporarily while also weakening some of the Dragon's power.

Thanked to this, I could separate the girl with her amulet from the Dragon's body.

In that moment, I grasped the amulet, pulling it out using all my might while cutting off the roots that were trying to stop me from getting the amulet.

However, the Dragon didn't want me to succeed and proceeded to trap me in a cage made out of rose bushes.

[Imitation of 'Divine Flame' Lv. 3 has activated.]

I extended my left hand behind me, then the surface of my palm spawned in clear white flame to burn away the bushes, stopping the Dragon's attempt at trying to encage me.

In spite of the Dragon fighting against my comrades, she managed to attack me without difficulty, but..

It seemed my comrades became frustrated after seeing me almost getting trapped by the Dragon and soon, they started to take out their own medium MP potions from their inventories, drinking them quickly before preparing an attack with all of their Mana concentrated into one attack.

"Oh boy.. I need to take this amulet out before I get hit by their attacks..!" I spoke as I tried harder to yank out the amulet.

And finally, the amulet popped out, along with the girl that was close to falling off if it weren't for me grabbing her hand in the last second.

Not only that, when the amulet was taken away from the Dragon, a hole where the amulet was, enlarged it to the size of a coffin as if it was missing a creature.

Within a second, I had a look of the hole, showcasing a bewitching view of a forest with a pond..

Everything was aesthetic to the eyes as if the sight was showing me a world of a beautiful forest within the Dragon's body.

It was too irresistible to ignore such a ravishing forest if you didn't know that this was just an illusion to lure a creature inside.

Yes, this was an illusion to trap a creature inside so the Dragon could absorb the life-force from that said person.

But since my hidden skill, 'Simulation' wouldn't let such an illusion to foolishly trick me, I was able to discover that there was an illusion ahead of me.

Without a warning, silky strings were wrapped around my waist firmly as I was putting the amulet on the girl, carrying her in the process.

In a flash, I was pulled away from the Dragon by Mirai and I wondered why she was doing this until I saw the Dragon sprouting a vain of flowers out to get me.

Sadly, one of them caught my leg and was pulling me toward the hole.

I should have cut it when I had the chance but I didn't, instead I tossed the girl with the amulet toward Mirai, forcing her to eject her strings for her to easily receive the girl with both of her hands.

Before Mirai could realize that I was being dragged into the hole, It was already too late when I entered inside the hole by force.

The hole proceeded to fix itself, masking me with roots while the Dragon covered the hole with her wings, expressing a satiety expression as if she was feeling relieved from the new life-force that she was now replenishing from me.

A shout came from one by one.

First, it was Mirai who was holding onto the girl as well as the amulet. "Captain!"

Second, it was Raiden who was attacking the Dragon from the rear. "Sensei!"

Third, it was Behemoth who was being carried by a lady. "Master!!"

And the last one was..

The one patting Behemoth's head was Frostina, having a cold but worried expression carve on her face.

"My Liege!"
