3 - Well the problems truly do keep lining up…

"How in the hell does this even work in this damn world?!" Lucius shouts in the comfort of his room trying to get a crystal monitor to work as it should. Both of the Carmella's look on from across the room while having tea. Struggling to get it to work for a solid twenty minutes he finally gets it to do something. He shifts his black and white mask as he feels a great sense of self-satisfaction.

"It's about time master." Carmella said in a joking tone looking up at him and blowing on her tea. Lucius chuckles a bit before moving the monitor around a nearby village that has been scouted out. After looking at it from above he notices something extremely wrong he zooms in to see several knights in white and blue armor killing peaceful looking villagers. He stands up in an outrage his eyes glowing red beneath his mask. He looks at the monitor one last time to see two knights chasing a young woman and child into a forest.

"Carmella I'm going to stop this. You need to inform the others Albedo and your NPC counterpart need to armor up and join me. Gate." Lucius turns and enters the gate as fast as he can. As he steps through he sees one of the knights swinging downward in a clearing a slight distance away from him. He moves as fast as he can and puts himself in between the blade and the villager. He grabs the blade and squeezes it in his left hand bending it then eventually snapping it off. The knights gasp in shock as they stare at him.

"You're all utterly despicable attacking a village full of innocent people… Not to mention you almost struck this woman who is defending a small child. I'm putting you and the rest of your company in the dirt. Lighting." Lucius said pointing his finger at the night closest to himself as a beam of lighting shoots out of it and hitting the man in the head who screamed before dropping to the ground.

"Dying so easily to something so weak… Now then it's your turn." Lucius said turning to a knight which held a shield screaming in fear at the sight of his glowing red eyes and turns to run. The knight gets a good three steps before running into something incredibly solid and falling on his ass. The knight looked up to see Lucius staring down at him with eyes glowing more vibrantly.

"You brazenly attack defenseless villagers then try to flee yourself? What an absolute waste of human life." Lucius said before drawing his black and blue katana and piercing the knight through his forehead the helmet might as well been paper as it offered no resistance to his blade.

'I just killed two people and all I can feel is excitement for the next? I've thought my behavior since coming here has been off but this just confirms it… Even if they weren't good people this still feels different.' He thought to himself before turning to the two villagers who stare at him in fright. He looks to his gate to see Albedo step through in her divine class black and silver armor and shortly after he sees Carmella step out in her divine class white and blue robes which completely obscure her facial features with pitch blackness.

"Do forgive us, master, I had to run all around the tomb trying to find Albedo as I don't have access to the message spell." Carmella said bowing her head to Lucius.

"I apologize for not knowing sooner my lord." Albedo said as Lucius admired her armor and axe before turning to the villagers.

"There's no reason to apologize you two I ran ahead with barely any warning what so ever." Lucius said as he quickly removed the blood from the blade with a swift flick of the wrist sort of painting the grass bellow in a perfectly straight line.

"What would you like me to do with these lower life forms?" Albedo asked looking down at the two villagers.

"The only ones here we'll concern ourselves with are the knights attacking this village." Lucius said gazing over at Albedo trying to think of ways to dance around the subject of helping 'Lower life forms' he just sighs and shakes his head deciding to leave it for his future self.

"Understood." Albedo said simply but Lucius could still feel the disdain in her voice as she stared at the villagers.

Lucius leans down to meet the two eye to eye. He searches them for any injuries but only finds scuffed knees on the little girl. He reaches into his inventory and pulls out a healing potion then removes his mask his eyes now once again blue giving a warm smile. "It seems as if you have scuffed your knees here. Please don't worry about the red eyes' they were simply that of my mask."

The two villagers stare at the potion and give it a strange look. Lucius grabs his sword and cuts his palm on a spot where the cloth wrapping isn't as covering. It bleeds more than Lucius anticipated but it didn't hurt as much as it should have Albedo gasped at the sight. Lucius removes the cap and drinks it make sure his hand is in full view the pair look on the wound completely closes. He grabs yet another potion from his inventory and hands it to the little one who now drinks it eagerly.

"Forgive my manners… I am Lucius Daimon Saintlin of Ains Ooal Gown. If I may ask you two know of magic correct?" Lucius said formal and soft tone.

"Y-Yes. A pharmacist, who is a friend of mine, sometimes comes to the village and uses magic." The oldest of the pair said her voice still somewhat uneasy.

"Whew, it would have been hard to explain what that lighting was if you didn't know anything about magic…. Hmm, Carmella would you please cast some defense magic on the two while I go and stop the knights." Lucius said putting his mask back on before turning away he stops for a moment before tossing the two of them two magic horns. "And do explain what those do as well if you would."

Lucius rushes off towards the town as fast as he can, tearing up the ground beneath with every stride. He soon finds himself in the outskirts of the village where he spots many knights surrounding villagers. The knights spot him at the same time he had spotted them. Lucius comes to sliding stop. He opens his left hand and a light blue sigil which crackles with energy. Two knights run up to him with their swords at the ready rightfully considering him an enemy. One knight is slightly ahead of the other and reaches Lucius who quickly cuts through his sword and his throat in one quick motion splattering blood all over his mask. Some of the blood got in his left eye causing him to winch and look away.

The second knight tries to stab him but the sword is stopped completely making the distinct sound of metal hitting metal as he impacts Lucius's shirt. The knight slowly backs away as Lucius looks down at him. The knight turns to run away but Lucius steps forward and stabs the sword through his chest and armor before withdrawing it from the knight as he falls to the floor dead.

Lucius looked at his hand to see that his spell has completely charged up then cracks his neck before looking to the rest of the knights slowly. Some break their formation and try to run but they soon discover all but four knights have been 'painted' with a light blue sigil. Lucius points his palm outwards at the soldiers and lighting strikes from above on all the soldiers who had the magic sigil 'painted' on them. Lucius looked at the rest knights who all group up together as he hears a shriek from a man who has an open helmet compared to the closed ones.

"Bastards kill that man! I'm not a person who should die in a place like this! Be my shield." The man shouted which struck a nerve within Lucius who appears right in front of the man with a flash of light he once again shrieks. "Please don't kill me I-I'll pay you whatever you want!"

"Oh, will you now? Well then let's talk terms." Lucius said sheathing his weapon and crossing his arms.

"R-Really?" The man said with blatant fear in his voice as the faintest sign of hope appear on the man's face.

"No, no not really." Lucius said before punching him in the left side of his face. The knight's helmet completely caves in as the sound of bones breaking could be heard. He looks to the rest of the knights then tilts his head.

"Anybody who wants to flee in absolute terror may now feel free to do so… Tell whoever sent you that this village is now under the protection of Lucius Daimon Saintlin of Ains Ooal Gown… Hmm, I need to shorten that… Ahem, if I catch anybody else attacking this village they shall become most intimate with death. Literally, so flee and spread the tale of what has happened here."

'I hope that was a good enough display of my power to dissuade any further attacks on these people. I enjoyed that far more than I should have… I may not have been the most stable person with my sadistic tendencies but it was never this pronounce in the real world." Lucius thought to himself before turning to see Albedo and Carmella watching from the tree line. The remaining knights in the village retreat as fast as they could. Lucius couldn't help but laugh at how terrified he made them.

"I may have saved you out of the kindness of my heart but I do want some form of reward for saving you all and killing these knights. I also require something to clean my face and mask" Lucius said looking to the villagers who now stand up looking relived. Lucius Looks back to Carmella and motions her to come to him she bows and comes forth.

"Is there something you need of me master?" Carmella asked her face still completely obscured by the magic of her robes.

"Please go with whoever is in charge around here and get an adequate reward for what I have done… Just make sure it's mainly information just come up with some story about why we don't know the basics of this world." Lucius said before looking behind her seeing the two village girls that he saved slowly walk to him with tears in their eyes.

"I'll learn as much as I can about the world master so please feel free to do whatever you wish as I do so." Carmella said with a bow as she walked up to the group of villagers. The two villagers he saved in the forest fast approach him.

"I would like to help bury the dead if that's acceptable… It's a tradition for my family back home to assist in any way after a travesty such as this." Lucius said trying to fit the persona of a well-learned tribal due to his outfit. They began tearing up at his act of kindness.

SEVERAL HOURS LATER

Lucius stands on a hill which seems to be this village's graveyard. He watches the villager's greave over their loss. 'I could try using my resurrection magic but I doubt any of those who died would survive the death penalty due to the changed rules of this world… It would be far more trouble to resurrect them any way I need the guilds name to spread attached to my own not my own without the guild…' Lucius thought to himself before turning to Albedo and Carmella who stare at the villagers.

"What do you two think of humans? Actually, What do you think of Humans Albedo I already know how Carmella feels having made her and all that." Lucius said overly casual thinking he should have spoken more formally.

"They are insignificant bugs who should be squashed for the enjoyment of higher life forms such as yourself and everyone in Nazarick" Albedo said coldly causing Lucius to nervously chuckle.

"Ouch… Don't you know that I am 'Human'?" Lucius said to Albedo who turns towards him in surprise not catching on to how he said it.

"Please forgive me, my lord, I didn't mean all humans, of course, there is also Aureole Omega." Albedo scrambled to say. Lucius smirks taking amusement out of her hastened apology.

"It's fine… But instead of treating them like insects why not treat them like animals. That's slightly, ever so slightly better." Lucius said trying to gauge her reaction as she reluctantly nods her head. They continue watching the villagers in silence until they all began returning to the village. Lucius, Albedo, And Carmella follow them.

"There are a couple of things I want to confirm before we return but the main goal for coming here has been fulfilled." Lucius said looking at the villagers who seem to be discussing something and looking over at him concerned. Lucius sighs. "Well, it seems something else has occurred excuse me while I go investigate."

Lucius walked up to the village chief and formally bowed for a moment. "What seems to be the problem now?"

"Oh, Lord Lucius it seems some knight-like people are heading straight towards the village." The village chief said barely hiding his concern.

"The problems just keep lining up huh? Let's see… Gather every villager somewhere safe I'll be sure to meet these additional knights while Carmella looks over everyone. But I would like for you to come with me if that's no problem." Lucius said looking back to Carmella who bows and walks towards the villagers.

"N-Not a problem Lord Lucius!" the village chief says elated as the villagers all group up and walk towards one of the larger houses of the village. Lucius, The village chief, and Albedo walk to a more open part of the village and stand at wait seeing men on horses In substantially different armor from the knights who came before so he lets out a relaxed sigh figuring he wouldn't have to kill any more people. One the soldiers reach them a rather muscular looking man rides out in front of everyone else and turns his horse.

"I am the chief royal warrior of the Re-Estize Kingdom, Gazef Stronoff. I have received orders from the king to hunt down the knights of the empire. Who have been wreaking havoc in this area by visiting all the villages." The man said in an established and strong tone.

"Royal head warrior…" The village chief said piquing Lucius's interest.

"It's an honor to meet you, royal head warrior… I am Lucius Daimon Saintlin of…" Lucius bites his tongue interrupting what he was saying he reaches under his mouth and grabs ahold of his tongue for a moment before letting go. "Ouch… Of Ains Ooal Gown. I am a spell caster who came to the aid of this village upon seeing it be attacked by knights."

Gazef dismounts from his horse and walks up to Lucius. "Thank you for saving this village. Mere words cannot fully express my gratitude."

"Head warrior! Unknown figures have been spotted around this area. It seems they've surrounded this village and are approaching as I speak!" One of the soldiers said approaching the group as they spoke.

"Well, the problems truly do keep lining up… Let's head to where my other associate is before whoever has surrounded the village see us or even you." Lucius said turning towards the building in which he saw Carmella enter with the rest of the villagers.
