The High Councilwoman

Just as Nigel started to undo my robe, I remembered my conversation with Gram Gram,

"I thought we couldn't fall in love with our angels..?"

"I know, I know, we are supposed to keep it a secret until we can persuade the High Councilwoman to change the rules."

As I remembered I jolted up. Nigel looked nervous.

"W-what's wrong, d-do you not want to…?"

"I, it's just that I, I just remembered that.... that we're not supposed to fall in love with our angels....but, I…"

Nigel looked me straight in the face. He looked very serious.

"It's okay. The High Council woman has been thinking about it, she told us that she will announce her decision in a couple days from now, I think we have been able to prove to her there's nothing wrong with it. But, if she disagrees, we will continue attempting to persuade her is all."

"Oh…"

I sat up as he joined me on the bed. I sat there for some time thinking about it, stroking Nigel's silk hair.

"So, uhm… d-do you think we could save this for uh, another day…?" I asked

"Whenever you're ready.... I'll be ready."

He kissed me on the cheek, I blushed. He was so sweet when he talked to me, I really did love him, I knew that much. I loved them both. But I knew I could only love one.

We joined Zachary down stairs, who was playing with our new pets.

"What took you guys so long…? ...What were ya doing~?"

He shot Nigel a sly grin. Nigel got all flustered.

"W-we were, uhm…just t-talking…!"

Zachary didn't seem convinced, though he just shrugged and said, " 'Kay."

"SO! I see you met our new pets already Zachary…?"

"Oh, yeah. What're their names?"

"Uhm, I think Nigel named his macaw Jess or Jessica, and I named my kitten Cleo."

"Hah! Cute…~"

"Oh! I almost forgot! I've been meaning to ask you Zachary, what did you do on Earth? You know for a job or a profession?"

"Oooh, this is a good story! You're gonna wanna sit down for this!"

Nigel and I sat on the couch, as Zachary told us his story…
