Summoning

Nobunaga sent the scouts out ahead of us, along with my horse. We hadn't ridden together like that since my return to Azuchi, unlike that ride I felt connected to him. We rode slowly through the forest, admiring the midday light that spilled through the leaves, and spotting small animals that darted here and there. Nobunaga leaned back a bit, resting his hands on his horse and tilting his head back while I took the reins. His voice is full of peace as he spoke. "Your village is surrounded by forest like this."

I hummed. "Yes. I spent a lot of time in those trees."

He sat back up and wrapped his arms around my waist before kissing my shoulder. "We should pay your family a visit."

I grabbed one of his hands and squeezed. "Perhaps after our first child is born."

The sun was beginning it's decent when we returned to the hot springs. After relaxing in the waters we ate and decided to spend the rest of the day curled up in the futon reading. While we were away the daily letter from Hideyoshi along with two new books from Mitsunari came. When Nobunaga finished reading his letter he crawled onto the futon where I had been waiting with my books beside me. He picked them up and observed the titles. "Ninja Arts or Mythology—" He handed me the Ninja Arts title and we settled in.

I don't remember falling asleep. The sound of approaching horses woke me up. Our books were resting on our chests as I stirred awake. I attempted to carefully remove his book from his chest trying to not disturb his rest but before the full weight of the book left him he hand carefully gripped my wrist. With eyes still closed and a little smile on his lips. "I heard them too."

When he released my wrist and I took the book, to place it on top of mine next to the bed. "Should I stay here? Or—"

His eyes opened. "Would you mind sitting on the patio? I think you'll know when it's safe to come back inside."

I kissed his cheek before whispering. "I'll be nearby if you need my help." He laughed softly before I left the futon.

I sat on a cushion on the patio, just out of sight from the room. A new moon graced the sky, allowing more stars to shine than normal. The sound of nearby crickets came to a halt as footsteps approached our room.

I could hardly hear the voice on the other side of the door asking for permission to enter, but I could identify the stress in it.

I peered over my shoulder to watch Nobunaga stand from the futon and allow the guest entrance. Hideyoshi stood in the doorway, in his usual green kimono, red hakama and matching red jacket, all brought together with gold and white cords. His golden eyes are more irritated than I've ever seen him as he enters the room. I turned back as he slid the door shut.

"I raced here as soon as I received your note— and then my scouts say there was an incident this morning when you went for a ride. I told the two of you to be safe and careful. I should have known you would get into trouble." Hideyoshi's voice is tense. "Where is your wife?"

In direct contrast, Nobunaga is calm and collected. "She's is near. I had no idea the scouts would report to you about our little race this morning. It was just some fun that got a little out of hand. We rode back together on the same horse though, so we weren't separated again."

I hear foot steps, pacing, that must be the worrier. "Why did you summon me Nobunaga? Your page said it was urgent, and when my men told me about your trip to the lake I worried something horrible happened."

Nobunaga softened his voice. "We didn't mean to worry you this much kozaru. Stop pacing. You're starting to unravel." A nervous chuckle. Using his pet name for Hideyoshi now hopefully relaxes him, although I'm not completely confident that was the right move. I found myself mentally praying to whatever god would hear me to give my husband the courage he needed.

There was some silence and some deep breaths before Hideyoshi spoke again. "What is the urgent matter you summoned me for my lord?"

More foot shuffling occurred before I heard my husband speak in a cautious tone. "Rina knows— everything."

Foot shuffling a soft cough. "About what?" Hideyoshi was trying to sound like he did suspect where this was going.

The silence was making me uncomfortable, I closed my eyes and let my head fall back as I stopped myself from running in.

Suddenly Nobunaga moved towards the patio and peered down at me, as if he was looking to me for strength. With my head still tilted back I smiled at him with half lidded eyes. It worked. His posture straightened before he spoke. "Why did you take yourself off the list when she returned?"

Hideyoshi did not move from wherever he is in the room. There was a bitter tsk from him before he spoke. "I didn't want to be in the way of either of your happiness."

My husband looked up at the dark sky, taking a deep breath before turned back into the room. "Which is why—" Words are suddenly replacesd with the awkward shuffle of feet and thud of a back hitting the wall. I rose from my seated position and waited, giving them their moment for just a little longer. I heard our sweet Toyotomi's one, soft, protesting moan, muffled by the kiss they had been putting off for my sake. Hideyoshi was breathless, a feeling I knew all too well from the devil's lips. "Nobu— Rina—"

I stepped into view. "I know." I walked over to them, Hideyoshi's back to the wall, one of Nobunaga's arms outstretched towards me. My devil king pulled me to him, each of my hips in contact with a different man. I looked at Hideyoshi, still processing what was happening. I reached my arms up around his neck and pulled his focus to me. "You must be exhausted from all that worrying during your journey, come to bed with us." I kissed his neck.

He began shivering a bit, but the small lift in the corners of his lips hinted that it could be from relief. "Rina—" He leaned to kiss me and I lifted on to my toes to reach his lips sooner and then he suddenly stopped and looked over at Nobunaga. A low chuckle came from the devil king, a chuckle I knew all to well. His voice was smooth and silky as he pressed me against Hideyoshi with his own body. "Please don't make my phoenix wait to long for your kiss."

With that his lips crashed to mine and I saw light behind my eyes as they closed. There was a trio of pleased moans as we kissed and our devil's hand wrapped around both of us and he kissed my shoulder. Hideyoshi's kiss is careful at first, but upon Nobunaga's pressing us all together and his face just beside ours, it built into something hungrier. His hands come to my face as he pulls me further into the kiss and I can feel both of them coming to life on my stomach and back.

When we separated Nobunaga grabbed one of Hideyoshi's hands and one of mine and led us to the bed. Nobunaga and I had already made so many plans for how we would worship our most trusted and caring vassal, but as we started to undress him I saw the exhaustion on his face and grabbed my husband's forearm. "Nobu— I think the stress and the ride here may have tired our lover out already."

He looked to the other man's face and then to me looking concerned and disappointed. "I think you may be correct Rina. Perhaps we should just let him rest in his own room."

"No! I want—" Hideyoshi's outburst surprised all of us, evident by the swoon worthy blush on the honey blonde's cheeks. "I want to stay here— with you both?" His desperate eyes shifted between the two of us.

I pulled the last of the cords away and both the Oda forces begin removing layers until the last. Nobunaga guided me onto the bed and I watched as the two pulled each other into another kiss. As I suspected: Nobunaga leads and Hideyoshi willingly submits to his lord, as if they were commands he'd been waiting to hear for years. I was not expecting Hideyoshi to be the one to push the Oda to the futon next to me and suddenly take lead of the dance. Very suddenly both Nobunaga and I were caged by Hideyoshi's arms on the futon and one of his legs between each of ours. He pulled away from kissing the dark haired devil to look at both of us. "You two drive me insane." The laugh of relief that came from him as his face nestled into my neck was like hearing the victory horns after a battle.

We shifted in the futon to pull blankets over us. Nobunaga pulled Hideyoshi against him and kissed the back of his neck, while I faced both of them, watching those hungry carnelian eyes as he whispered something to the honey blonde's ear that makes his golden eyes dilate and settle onto my face. I brushed my fingers over Hideyoshi's cheek to pull him into a gentle kiss and rested my forehead to his as I reached out to find Nobunaga's hand resting on our lover's hip.
