Coming back to Life

Mohsen slowly opened his eyes and immediately felt excruciating pain running through his whole body. He was laying down and looking at the familiar place. Once his eyes had cleared up he noticed he was laying on a hay bed, with clean clothes and sheets.

Memories started to flushed back into his mind, the last thing he remembered was fighting his own clan man, getting them to chased after him yet there were too many of them. Mohsen was exhausted at the end and cornered by 20 something beasts. All he remembered was passing out due to the excessive loss of blood and waking up here in this room.

'I must get out of here...' Mohsen thought to himself as he tried to push himself up and instantly let out a low scream because of the pain in his body. It was like all his bones were crushed and maybe there had been a few open wounds on his back.

"Ah! You are awake!" A female beast entered the room with a bucket of water with her, she had short black hair and legs like that of a milk cow, white with black spots. On top of her head were big black ears, decorated with bells.

Mohsen had recognized who it was, this female was Heifer, she was a few years younger than him and had known him since she was born. Mohsen's and Heifer's family were closed for many years and they had always implied that the two of them would be partners when they grow up. However, ever since Mohsen joined the court from an early age, he had refused to comply with their wish.

"What are you doing here?" Mohsen asked.

"No, no, don't try to get up yet, your wound will open up again." Heifer placed the bucket of water down and pressed Mohsen laying flat. Once he laid back to rest, she continued. "The guards brought you back here so you can recover but you are under house arrest. It was your dad who begged for the change and promised to bring you back to receive your punishment once you are awake. You have been unconscious for 3 days..."

'Old man locked me up in my old room...' Mohsen was dazed off in his thoughts when Heifer explained to him.

"Three whole days!!? What had happened to..." Mohsen couldn't sit still, his body shot up straight and it was painful but he held it in. He was about to ask Heifer about Yilas but maybe she wouldn't know.

Seeing how anxious Mohsen was, Heifer felt unhappy. She had heard the guards talk about what had happened so she could guess who he had wanted to ask about. Moreover, by this time, everyone in the city had seen what happened to the female. Even her as a stranger felt kind of bad for the female.

Seeing Heifer avoiding his gaze and looking guilty, Mohsen guessed Heifer must have known something.

"If you know what happened, then tell me. If not, call for my father here." Mohsen was never closed to this female so he couldn't depend on her for a favor, maybe his father would know more than she did.

"Hmmm... I will tell you but promise me you will stay here." Heifer looked down to her feet, she couldn't say no to Mohsen so at least she could be somewhat of a help.

"Alright, tell me." Mohsen lay down on the bed as he anxiously waited for the information.

"Well, I only heard some from some guards... They said you have been bewitched and have gone mad over a female, you killed some of our soldiers and even dare to hurt Master Bryok. But once they had captured you, they used you to lure in the female, I think they called her the nine-tailed fox..."

"WHAT!!! THEM DOGSHIT!!" Mohsen couldn't tame his anger, he stood straight up and there were flames in his eyes, his shout even scared Heifer to death because she had never seen him raised his voice before. The Mohsen she knew and admired was always a gentle, yet mysterious beast, his act was graceful and his voice was as mellow as the river. Seeing this new side of him reminded her, she had never known anything about him.

"Please don't be angry, it's b-bad for your wounds." Heifer was shaking like a leaf in the wind.

"I was too emotional, my apologies. What had happened to the female after that?" Mohsen soon recomposed himself as he realized he had stepped out of line.

"After that... they caught her and make her release you from her spells. So you don't have to worry, you are no longer under her control..." Heifer looked bright, she had sighed a big relief when the guards had told her that Mohsen was no longer bewitched by the wretch.

Mohsen rubbed his face with his hand, trying not to get mad at all the lies they spread. Nobody had made him do anything for Yilas, it was his own plan. If anyone was responsible, it was Mohsen himself for bringing Yilas into this mess.

"Where is she now, did they say anything about where they are keeping her?" Mohsen quickly asked.

"They are tying her to the god's punishment tree in the main square..."
