Chapter 10- Daddy OP Part 2

Chapter 10

After the smoke cleared, seeing Shiftry' s unconscious body Brody called the match. "Shiftry is unable to battle, the winner is Nidoking. Gym leader please call forward your next Pokémon."

Calum smiled at Brody before returning his unconscious partner. "You did well my friend." He stated to the Ultraball he held in his hand. Calum placed the ball on his belt as his left hand grabbed the great ball on the opposite side. "The challenge ends HERE!" He spoke as he enlarged the ball and released the monster within. With no wasted movement, Weavile shot forward and landed knees bent, claws shining in the light. "WEAVILE!" it sounded, ready for battle.

Wesley gulped internally as he eyed the tiny Pokémon before him. Titled 'Trainers Bane' by all previous challengers of the Viridian Gym, he knew things were truly about to get serious. 'To think it cost me two Pokémon just to defeat his Shiftry. From what I've read on the Battle web, only a handful of trainers a year make it past this speedy devil.'

The current Kanto Gym syndicate has 10 gym leaders, with the Pokémon league only requiring you to have 8 badges. Wesley wants so badly to receive the Viridian Badge because he knew, you were only taken seriously as a League challenger if you badge collection held the ever illusive 'Obsidian Sword'. Calum Blake held the title of 'Strongest Gym Leader' with him being a previous member of the 'Johto Elite Four'.

"We can't back down now Nidoking, Lets go all the way!" Wesley Roared.

Noticing that both trainers were hyped and ready to go, Brody proceeded the match. "Battle Begin!"

Wesley immediately went on the offensive. "Nidoking use DIG!" "NIDO!" it roared as its body burrowed beneath the earth. When its body finally bad its way to the conjunction of all the holes within the battlefield Wesley smirked. "SLUDGE BOMB!"

Calum could only shake his head at the foolishness. 'Does he think me a fool?' "Dodge them all with AGILITY Weavile!" Weavile immediately broke into a sprint, its body gave off a feint glow as its speed began to leave after-images as it twirled ducked and flipped around the falling sludge. "Double HONE CLAWS!" Calum roared as Weavile flipped over one of the holes. Weavile' s claws glowed twice consecutively before a shiny glimmer remained on them.

Seeing the speedy devil trapped mid air as it leapt over the many holes on the battlefield, Wesley smiled with glee. "Now Nidoking, Use MEGAHORN!" Nidoking almost instantly burst forth from the hole below as if it were waiting there all this time.

'As if I didn't see your little trap coming' thought Calum as he watched the massive green horn hurtling toward his partner. Dodge with SHADOW CLAW and follow it up with HONE CLAWS!" Weavile immediately went into action, with the speed boost from agility, it launched a SHADOW CLAW that extended from its body with a ghastly aura as it grasped onto the impending horn. With its signature acrobatics it used the ghastly claw to flip itself around the large Pokémon, safely land onto the ground as the Nidoking floated above it clearly missing its target.

Sweating profusely at his own miscalculation, Wesley immediately ordered his Nidoking to counter attack. "Turn Around and use FIRE PUNCH! He roared, praying internally he was fast enough… He wasn't.

"Weavile end it with NIGHT SLASH!" Calum bellowed with his quick victory. Before Nidoking' s fist could even spark up with a flame, it was immediately slashed across the back of its neck with midnight black claws as it was launched across the field and buried in the very same rubble Shiftry ended in.

The shock refused to leave Wesley's face as he eyed his unconscious Pokémon. As the gym referee called the match, Wesley returned his Pokémon in solace at his own mistake.

While the battle progressed, Alice didn't pay much attention to it. Her mind was completely entranced by the floating Pokémon in the corner. For reasons unknown to her, she felt a mysterious deep connection to it. Wanting to meet the clearly shy creature, Alice willed her spirit to the corner of the room. A slight glow appeared upon her body, light so negligible it was barely visible.

Alice had spent a lot of time working on her empathy gift. After month's of mental exhaustion, she realized the more control she exerted, the less of a light show she displayed. So, with that as her goal she trained on it with Espeon, as it was the Pokémon that spent the most time with her.

As the connection slowly made its way to the tiny creature, Alice became overwhelmed with fear. The small thing was clearly terrified. As Alice's control over her gifts seemed to skyrocket, she realized she could now not only feel they emotions of Pokémon, but she would now occasionally pick up on stray thoughts.

'Why…' the Pokémon thought. 'Why wont she come back?' hearing these thoughts, some of Alice's inner questions were answered. From its tone, she could surmise that the Pokémon was female, and clearly young, most likely recently hatched. Its fear and questions sadly told Alice the it was most likely abandoned.

Saddened by the thought Alice, willed her emotions to the Pokémon. Sending waves of warmth, love, and the feelings of embrace, she beckoned the Pokémon to herself.

For an unsurmountable amount of time, there was no reply. It just continued to eye her curiously. Clearly unsure if the small girl before it could be trusted.

Wanting so badly to console the frightened creature, Alice slightly increase the feelings she sent forward as a reassuring smile converged on her face.

The feeling of longing converged on the two as the others present knew none the wiser. Finally giving into curiosity the Pokémon floated forward into the light for the first time.

Alice eyed the Pokémon in excitement and awe as it mad way toward her.

'A Misdreavus…' she thought. Its so adorable she continued. Alice watched as the Pokémon finally made its way to her, as it stared at her in the same curious way she displayed. Alice could clearly see the differences in this Pokémon. Its corporal body was green. 'It's a shiny.' She thought as she reached forward slowly toward the Pokémon not wanting to frighten it.

Espeon eyed the pair of curious eyes as it braced itself to intervene if necessary. With her forked tail wrapped around the small child she watched carefully. She was prepared to defend if necessary. She had grown quite attached to the daughter of her partner.

As the fated interaction between child and Pokémon progressed, the battle below continued unaware.

Anger clearly displayed across his face, Wesley Held his next Pokéball tightly as he glares at Calum. "Ill admit" he began annoyance taking the place of his anger, "I clearly overestimated myself. But this ends here."

Wesley threw the Pokéball forward as he spoke. "Let the Mighty Earth Rumble, come forth Steelix!" The gigantic metal snake roared to life as it left its Pokéball. "STEELIX!"

'This kid really likes making an entrance.' Thought Brody as he called for the start of the match. "BEGIN!"

"SANDSTORM Steelix!" Wesley roared. From its command, The stone segment of the metal snake with the two side protrusions began to spin as sand began to whirl across the battlefield. Weavile' s eyes squinted in anger at the pain the behemoth before it caused.

"Weavile, charge forward with AGILITY then hit it with NIGHT SLASH!" with its partners command, Weavile charged forward with breakneck speed as it launched itself into the air its midnight colored claw gleaming.

"Block it with IRON TAIL Steelix!" Wesley roared, completely prepared this time. All present watched as the Massive glowing tail swung and collided with the waiting black claw. Sparks flew across the battle field as the two moves fought for dominance. With its massive size and strength Steelix' s tail pushed forward as Weavile was flung backwards. The tiny devil skidded across the battlefield before it jumped back up in all its acrobatic glory and landed on its feet claws buried into the earth to stop its falling force.

Not wanting to give his opponent the chance to counterattack Wesley quickly commanded his Pokémon. "Steelix quick, use DIG!" not wasting the opportunity the massive beast quickly burrowed beneath the earth.

Calum assessed Weavile' s condition. Noticing its slight limp, he wasn't happy. 'The kids finally showing some battle prowess' he thought. 'We won't be able to move as quickly anymore, so more than likely this next attack will decide the outcome between the two.' Calum pondered as he carefully watched the battlefield in wait. Wanting to come out on top Calum Commanded his waiting partner. "Might as well top it off, Weavile Double HONE CLAWS!" Weavile' s claws immediately glowed twice then faded. What was left was a sight to behold. Glistening claws so sharp they could cut threw steel like butter.

Westley's fist tightened as he watched. 'Its all or nothing here' he thought. With his raised battle spirit, he commanded his Pokémon forth. "NOW Steelix!" the Pokémon burst from the ground in reply right behind the waiting Weavile. Going in for the attack Steelix lurched forward.

"Oh no you don't, Weavile NIGHT SLASH!" turning on its heels, Weavile repositioned itself as It swung its claws forward.

A toothy grin spread across Wesley's face. 'We won't miss this close up.' He thought. "Now Steelix, use BODY PRESS!" Activating the move, Steelix' s body shot up from the ground, high above Weavile' s awaiting claws causing it to miss its swing. The force from its swing caused its body to careen forward. With its miss it could only fall to its injured knee. Unable to move it could only watch as the massive Pokémon above it came crashing down.

The Gym shook from the sheer weight of the falling Pokémon. The earth beneath it shattered and cracked outward as smoke a debris engulfed the entire battlefield. Calum and Wesley both coughed and waved the smoke away from their faces as they awaited the outcome.

The rumbling from the earth beneath her caused Alice to lose concentration and her connection to the little Misdreavus broke. In its fright, from the loss of warmth and the impending doom around it, it willed its body to become intangible as it scurried its way away from the scene.

As the debris cleared, Alice grew saddened at the disappearance of her new friend. Noticing her state, Espeon cuddled her head against the nape of Alice's neck to console her. Feeling much better from her the embrace, Alice returned her attention to the battle below as she swore to herself. 'I'll find you again little one…'

As the smoke finally cleared, Brody spotted Steelix first, as it lay in the now shattered battlefield. With the combination of the previous uses of dig across the battlefield shattering the foundation, the ground could not take the sheer force of fall from the massive Steelix. As the Pokémon moved forward toward its trainer, Brody finally caught sight of his gym leaders Weavile.

The poor little Pokémon was out for the count among the rubble around it. "Weavile is unable to battle, the winner is Steelix!" Brody bellowed with clear excitement in his voice. It had been to long since a trainer took down the devilish little Pokémon. "Leader please release your third Pokémon!" he announced as his inner monologue continued. Calum noticing his gym managers exuberance could only smile as he returned his Weavile.

He could understand the excitement the man felt, only because he felt the exact same way. It had been so long since his next Pokémon had seen battle. With it being his first capture as a new trainer on his journey in Johto, it had been through everything with him.

Wesley watched in both fear and excitement. Not much was known on what Pokémon Gym leader Calum uses after 'Trainers Bane".

Seeing the fighting will in the challenger's eyes brought a smile to the battle maniac's face. "Prepare yourself boy!" he stated as he held the "Luxury Ball' in his right hand. "For my next partner shall be the FINAL you see in this challenge!"

Visible sweat began to collect on Wesley's body as he awaited his fate.

"I think I will take a page from you!" Calum stated as he lifted his arm to release the Pokéball within it. With an Arrogant and condescending voice Calum bellowed. "Let Hells Flame Raise the earth, Houndoom COME!"

At the call of its master, a heart stopping howl resonated across the gym as flames adorned its horns, its deadly glare fixated upon its massive victim.

"HOUNDOOOOM!!"
