Chapter 1

My name is Calvin Rankin, and today was my father, Ronald Rankin's funeral. I don't feel sad because he never shows me any affection. He is a scientist who loves his experiment more than anything, even his family. He died in an explosion in the laboratory at the company he works in.

I don't know why he loves his experiment so much that it makes him abandon his own family. He also has his own laboratory in the house basement. I am not allowing into his lab. That he said it is dangerous. Now he is nowhere any more. Curiosity got the best of me, and I enter his lab.

While looking around inside my father's lab, I accidentally knocked down a beaker filled with an experimental chemical with my elbow, causing the formation of a red gas which I accidentally breathed in. Coughing, gasping, my eyes smarting, I carefully cleaned up the lab and then left.

I wash my face already but still my eyes, still red and wet. When I walk into my room, my mother saw me.

"Are you all right Cal, your eyes are red. Are you crying?" asked Nasya Ehrlich, my mother.

"Yeah, I just a little sad," I said while my head hurt.

"Cal, don't be sad, you still have me and I think your father already fine in there," she tried to make me okay

"Em.. I don't know, I want to go to my bedroom, my head is dizzy" I said to mom because I don't want to collapse in front of her.

"Okay, just sleep already mom will make you soup later for you," said mother

"no, I'm okay and it's already night you should rest too"

"All right then, call me if you need something."

I quickly rushed to my room and lie down on my bed, I do not want to faint on the floor. Suddenly something attacking my head, it feels like my head wants to explode. After a while, I passed out on my bed.

That night I dreamed about someone's life. He is an orphan who was adopted as the son of a wealthy businessman. Even though he was a rich kid, his adopted parents made him live independently. He has to clean the house before they feed him.

Hard independent life makes him a tough person. He has no other hobbies besides reading superhero comics as entertainment. Inspired by the comics he reads he also became an individual happy to help.

After working hard and learning to do business, he finally inherited his parents' company. He built a charity fund and an orphanage near where he lived. When he was old, he inherited his entire fortune to the charity fund he had built. Finally he died without feelings of resentment and regret.

In The morning I wake up with the feeling I was reborn to an extra person. After remembering the dream last night, I realized that I lived in one of the comics I'd read in my previous life. I live in an alternative universe of Marvel.

I am Calvin Rankin, also known as the Mimic. The Mimic is able to copy the knowledge, skills, and powers of every individual within a certain range. Mimic is too strong to make Marvel kill every version of himself or throw him away like trash.

Like the original, I probably get my power last night when I accidentally broke my father experiment. I will use my ability to help others in need. To make it running smoothly, I need to plan. I need to know to what extend my power works to see if they're any different.

Calvin has his power for 3 years. With his power, Calvin became the smartest student in his class, he inadvertently imitated the learning abilities of the smartest students in his class and got knowledge from his teacher.

Calvin also realized that his abilities he got from others did not disappear but functioned permanently, even though he was far from the smart students in his class. He realized he still easily learned new things even though he did it in his own home.

To survive in the extremely dangerous marvel Universe, Calvin prepared himself to take various martial arts courses. For 3 years Calvin has mastered Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Muay Thai, Karate, Boxing, Jujitsu, and Krav Maga. all that is easy to learn just by imitating the ability of the strongest people closest.

Even though Calvin had become a genius now, he was not arrogant and always modest. He likes to enjoy his youth with friends his age rather than trying to skip a grade and interact with people who are older than him. Now he is just waiting for news of the first appearance of X-Men to Mimic their Power. Meanwhile, he enjoyed his sophomore year.
