Step 1: Assigning Teams

I wiped the tears from my cheeks, and put on a confident face. I adjusted the strap of my black overalls, and flung my backpack over my shoulder. I took a long breath, and walked up the stairs. In front of me was a scaling building, looking very similar to a pandemonium. I took the stairs two at a time, and reached the doors. They were huge glass, coming high above my head. There was a group of people gathered right inside. They must be the other contestants. I hurried to join the crowd.

"Hello, starting champions!" Someone on a higher platform said through a microphone. "Welcome, to Factions! As most of you already know, Factions is a game the Royal Bell likes to host each five years, and lucky you, you've all been picked to participate." I looked at the solemn faces around me. Everyone was varying heights, races, ect. None of us were the same.

"Each of you will be assigned two trained partners, who you will try and survive the game, with. You will each build a shelter of some kind to keep you safe and going, with the starter location and things we supply to you. The goal is to be the last team standing. You are to battle with the other contestants, and destroy their shelters," She quickly paused to breath before moving on, "so, let's get on with it!"

She jumped off the platform, leading us to a wide room full of more people. There looked to be about 30 of us, so ten other teams.

"When I call out your name, please stand by the correct number your name was called," she picked up a list to her left, motioning to the rows of people, two people grouped beside each other under a number.

She started listing off names, in alphabetical order. When she hit my name, I looked up.

"Miykal, seven."

I started to walk towards the two guys standing under number 7. Both were chiseled, and hard muscle, like my father had said, I got two of the better ones. My black heels clicked on the floor as I walked. One of the guys had dark skin, and his face was set in a hard line. His eyes gave almost no emotion, and he didn't even glimpse at me when I came over. The other guy had a more friendly face, and smiled when I came over.

"Now that everyone is in there respected teams, we shall begin with the fitting."
