We All Fall Down

Crashing falls down around us as rocks crumble from the walls.

"It's going in!" Gabriel yelled, while grabbing everything he could carry that was important.

We all had armfulls of stuff, like explosives, food, and our backpacks.

James was the first out, leaving a hand for Gabriel to grab as he climbed out. The wall farthest away from us fell, leaving dust and rock everywhere.

"Even if we get out, we'll never outrun them!" I screamed to James and Gabriel over the loud crashes. Gabriel was now completely out, the ceiling starting to cave in.

I watched it in shock, as it came towards me in waves.

"Miykal! Get out!" James screamed.

I was frozen still, as the crumbling came closer to me.

Then I felt an arm around me, lifting me out of the cave seconds before it completely collapsed.

"Come on!" Gabriel waved to us, "before they figure out we weren't in there!"

I started to run after them, slow at first then faster.

We ran until my legs were numb, stopping at a tree stump. I leaned against it, catching my breath.

"Where now?" I asked in a huff.

"Now we find a new place to hide," James breathed, "I think I saw a cave along the rocks near the river, earlier. It'd be perfect. Nobody would see it unless you were in it."

I glanced to Gabriel who looked fine with it,"So we head there."

"Yeah. And hope we don't get TNT'ed again," Gabriel said sourly.

We started lugging our stuff up the hill again. I wiped the sweat from my face.
