As I looked into my own golden eyes, I felt fundamentally different.
There were some unused personal hygiene supplies, so I used those to start off the morning.
I heard a loud knock on the door to my room.
"Y-young m-master, breakfast is ready," someone said sheepishly from the other side of the door.
Young master? I said they should call me boss, didn't I? Well, whatever.
I approached the door, removed the bat, and opened it. In front of me was a girl in a maid's uniform. The first thing I noticed was how tall she was. She was about a whole head taller than me.
Her face was red and she looked terrified. I'm sure she's just following orders, and heard some terrifying stuff about me. The cowards couldn't even approach me themselves after their humiliating defeat.
Oh wait, I'm not wearing a shirt.
"Give me a minute," I closed the door and found spare clothes in the guest room's closet.
I stepped out of the room. I guess I do need to eat."Thanks, lead the way."
"Um, okay!" She said in a high-pitch voice.
Her voice was very woman like, but it was hidden by fear. This made me feel bad.
We took several turns down long hallways before arriving in a huge dining room. This place is beautiful, a dream home really.
In the dining room was a large table, fully decked out in food.
Unfortunately, William and Carissa were sitting at the far end I standing across from. Carissa had her arms crossed facing away from my general direction.
I really don't want to eat with them. I decided to grab a plate, pile food on it, and make my way back to my room. Yes, that's what I'll do.
"Thank you Ashley. Boss, I've made the preparations for your demands. Please take a seat sir, I would like to discuss everything with you," William said to the maid, then spoke to me.
I guess I have no choice then. I reluctantly grabbed a seat across from William.
I slowly, yet intently ate my food. Sure, there's a chance it's poisoned, but even if it was, I have a feeling it wouldn't do anything.
"Your identity has been erased, we staged your death under the guise of home invasion and robbery. We used the robbery to grab your belongings and bring it here, although there wasn't much, you might have been robbed." William said.
That's not it, I just don't have much to begin with.
He handed the butler beside him a news article who proceeded to hand it to me.
"Man found dead in home invasion; body identified as 16 year old, Earnest Jackson"
I must've showed disgust on my face at the mention of a body because William promptly responded soon after.
"There was no real body, we bribed the reporting station to say that there was. Your legal information is with your personal items."
I'm impressed they managed to pull this much off. Although, knowing my parents, this is the best possible scenario for them.
"Your belongings have been placed in front of your room, I've also set an appointment up for the plastic surgery you requested."
"I'm impressed you accomplished so much in this short amount of time," I admitted.
"The financial request you made has also been met. I prepared an alternative bank account under my name, the details and credit card are with your belongings," William explained.
"I see, I'll be waiting until the appointment then," I added, finishing off my food.
"Um-boss, my wife will be home in 3 days, please, I would like to keep this a secret from her," William pleaded.
I kind of in a good mood, so, why not?
"Sure, I'll stay out of your hair while she's around, and I'll try not to give any indication of our partnership to her. You have my word."
His wife probably wears the pants in this relationship. It'd be embarassing to find out your husband works under some tyrant 16-year-old, and there's not a thing you can do about it.
"Thank you," William let out a sigh of relief, and I left the room, heading back to my room.
Carissa didn't look or talk to me once, this day couldn't get any better.
In front of my room was a small pile of stuff. My school bag, my blanket, pillows, pile of folded clothes, and my old laptop from a pawnshop, and envelopes.
The envelopes must be the legal documents and funds William talked about.
I pushed everything inside the room, I really don't have a lot, so it didn't take that long.
I plopped down on the bed and rummaged through the documents.
Ah, here it is. My new identity.
Allen Baxtor, Age: 16, Birth: 3/4/20XX, Sex: Male, etc.
How does someone even fabricate legal documents this elaborate?
Also, I'm a member of his family now. It makes sense, I'm a bastard child apparently, so I guess it works out perfectly. Not too involved and not too distant. I won't draw any suspicion toward myself.
I hopped on my old laptop and ordered some stuff online. It's neat, a drone locates you via G.P.S. and just give you your package.
I used my card and ordered a stronger laptop, and an activated phone. I've never had a working phone, so I'm kind of excited. Other than that, I just need new clothes. The one's I have are full of rips and tears.
I put in my orders and laid in bed. Hmm...there's a tapping at the window.
*Tap* *Tap* *Tap*
The drone's here already?!
I opened the window and let the drone inside. It dropped the package off, had me sign for it, then it flew away. Neat.
I unboxed everything and set it all up. I registered everything under my new identity, and decided to surf the web for a bit.
Now that I think about it, I've always wanted to watch a movie. I've never seen one before, at least, not all the way through.
No one wanted to be seen in public with me, and I've never had the money to go myself.
2 hours later, and I finished watching some movie about a guy who was too strong for his own good. It moved me to tears. Why did my first movie have to be this good?
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
Someone's at the door again, I can't be seen like this. I wiped my tears on my blanket and approached the door.
I opened it to find that it was Carissa with Ashely standing behind her. Come on bruh.
"Yes?" I answered.
"You...what are you?" Carissa asked.
"Didn't I already answer that? I'm a monster, alright?" I responded.
"I know that, but what kind of monster are you? Those eyes...they're different." Carissa insisted.
I stared blankly at her. This girl really thinks I'm not human. Wait, am I human? That doesn't matter. I guess I'll have to make something up.
I think a vampire would be most believable.
I wrote it down on a piece of paper and handed it to her.
Her eyes went wide.
"I knew it, but I had no proof!" Carissa yelled.
So naive. I'll mess with her a little. I refracted the light around my body to make my shadow disappear.
"Look at my shadow," I added.
Carissa looked in terror, Ashley looked in confusion.
Carissa ran down the hall out of sight, and Ashley ran after her.
I closed my door and plopped back onto bed.
Pft. I'm not a vampire...I hope.
