NAB THE SUSPECT IN A WEEK

"Hold on---"

Santina wanted to convince him against leaving but it was Mikael who did the convincing instead as he was adamant about leaving the place and ending the nonsense conversation once and for all.

"This man obviously does not know what he is doing Santina, and worse, he does not even care. He won't even wake up long enough to put a few policemen on regular patrol in the dumpsite despite knowing the incident happening there for over the past few months, remember? These killings had been going on for quite some time, for crying out sake! Yet as incompetent as they were in having their job done, they have never done anything about it and he was simply turning a blind eye to the severity of the situation even after being presented with an official report! He is not the man we needed."

Deciding that he already had enough of the other party's dismissive attitude and sarcastic approach, Mikael finally spoke his mind to the point that he no longer even bother to filter out his choice of words.

Hearing a piece of Mikael's mind, the lawyer was triggered and so he forcefully got up from his seat as well almost with the same amount of energy as the other party.

His hands were balled into fists and were wedged into both sides of his protruding belly although it was a doubt whether he could actually throw a good punch from those lame and feminine arms of his once the situation called for it.

Likewise, there was also a vein in his left temple bulging like a fat green worm much like that of what Mikael had on his neck as a sign of his utter frustration.

"No, no, this is not the way----"

Santina wanted to stop the two before a brawl could even break out. She desperately looked at Anton's direction hoping to get some assistance from the young man.

When Anton saw his professor looking at his direction as though she badly needed his help, he immediately got his queue and came to her rescue.

Yet before they could even do anything Mikael already pulled his hand away from Santina's grasp and using that same hand, he pointed at Daniel.

It seemed that the enraged and triggered Mikael was not about to be stopped anytime sooner.

" All he cares about was his face on the television."

He said and matched it with a degrading look.

"Hey! You are being too much!"

Daniel rebutted as he put his previously balled fist onto his chest while sporting a hurt expression as though Mikael's comment offended him for good. However, that was not enough to stop Mikael on his outburst

"Was it really that hard for you to read the report properly? We believed our killer is a man of around five feet tall at most, not more than that. He probably not even have a good body built. He was most likely to be someone who does not even trust himself with a conscious victim as he always sees to it to knock his victims out of their consciousness first before doing the deed. We also believed that he is someone that is familiar with the kids in the area. They knew him and maybe even trust him. That was why his presence does not arouse any suspicion in the community and he could easily blend with them"

"Wow."

Daniel remarked in a sarcastic manner before he flashed them a sneer.

"Did you thought that all by yourself, Brother Kel. What an amazing job. But let me tell you this. Whilst this report that you two were so proud of could be compared to an elementary school report, ours here was a postgraduate level. Well, just so you know. My men were actually a step ahead of you in this investigation."

Daniel replied with a lopsided grin. His sudden revelation was like a bomb dropped out of nowhere and it visibly surprised not only Mikael but also Santina and Anton.

It seemed that the head lawyer was deliberately leaving out information from them all this time. Seeing their reaction, Daniel's annoying smile became wider.

"Honestly, I am not planning to divulge this information to you guys as I see this as confidential police work. But since you are adamant in making this your business as well, let me share with you this good news for the sake of your inner peace."

The head lawyer flashed them a smirk first before continuing.

"An arrest will be made within the next few days."

He declared proudly. The other three stopped short after hearing the news. This time, even Santina was visibly upset.

The apprehension of the killer was supposed to be a piece of good news, Yet for some reason, they did not feel right about it. It was like their gut feeling was telling them that something was amiss about this sudden appearance of the suspect.
