MYSTERIOUS SILHOUTTE

Getting no response from Mikael, the old lady continued speaking her mind with a heavy heart.

"Father I just want to understand. Is God a sadist? How could He allow this to happen? Inigo no longer had a heart when they found him."

The old lady said with a quivering voice as she fight back her tears.

"Ma'am Lolita...."

Mikael whispered softly, then he paused to allow himself some time to think of a right word to say.

"I was not God who did that to your grandson. A person did that."

He said with conviction and the old lady bit her lips when she heard Mikael's reply. A tear fell silently from her eyes but she quickly wiped it away.

"Take this, it's yours. It is all I can afford."

She said as she handed them her fried banana. She left after that.

Meanwhile, somewhere in a separate place...

Someplace dark where only a very minimal amount of light could be seen passing through the room.

A silhouette could be seen peeking through the blinds of the window. His features were perfectly hidden in the shadows and so only his height could be revealed which happened to be only around five feet.

The poor lighting inside the room, together with the fact that the other party was wearing an oversized sweatshirt with a hoodie that perfectly hid his face made it hard for anyone to identify him; and so his identity would remain unknown.

Well, at least for now...

"The sun comes out today. I have to go to work."

He said to himself.

His voice sounded a bit raspy and cold. The other party left the window side and started packing his things that were left scattered on the floor.

"I find it weird sometimes, how I end up wondering to myself if the people I work so hard for actually appreciate me enough. I mean, they come to me, suffering in pain, and I do my thing and make them feel better."

The same raspy voice sounded again inside that dark room as though he was talking to someone. But in reality, he was busy picking up his stuff one by one and he was only talking to himself; more like that of a monologue.

"Then they go away and never give me a second thought again. I pass them in the streets and the most some of them can do is to nod at me. Almost all of them fail to recognize me."

He said as he entered into another monologue, all the while placing his items back to his bag as careful as he could. He took his time picking everything up until the very last piece, which was a small instrument that was similar to that of a scalpel. However, there was exactly the same as the one that the other party was holding in his hand only had a flat-tipped blade, albeit sharp.

He picked it up and observed it closed to his face this time. The squeaky clean scalpel refracted a sharp and savage glint as a ray of light coming from the window hit it and so he put it quickly inside his bag as well.

Finally gathering all his things, his eyes lingered around the room.

"But thinking about it, I guess this set up works fine to me as well. I don't want them to recognize me anyway. It is really better that they don't."

He muttered under his breath as he rose to his feet and started walking towards the door. The sound of the door opening made an eerie contrast within the deadly silent place but it did not seem that the owner of the silhouette was bothered by it in any way.

He took one final looked at his room before leaving; giving special attention to the half-closed door of his bathroom.

Only after confirming that everything was good to go did he closed the door behind him and he finally took his leave.

The dark and now empty room, albeit a bit eerie, appeared to be serene if one would go and observed it from afar.

No one would ever have the slightest idea that within that same room, behind that half-closed door of the bathroom, another lifeless body of a child with eviscerated organs and peeled-off face was hidden.
