Chapter 47

"Zuko!"

The man who held the missile launcher from before shouted the stone giant's name amongst the crowd. His appearance was wrapped in bandages and he held another type of firearm instead of a missile launcher.

"Out of my way!" Pushing around the people around him, the man traversed the missionaries and wanted to arrive at where the stone giant had fallen.

Smiling, Zuyuan could hear the man's previous shout even in this chaotic situation. Side stepping from every stray attack that went towards him, Zuyuan began to think he should take some initiative and attack his opponent's armies back. Or mostly, the people around him instead of Zuyuan knew this skill wouldn't differentiate between enemies or allies.

Grinning in a wolfish-kind of manner, Zuyuan swung his hand in the air without slicing anything. However, on the next moment, a screeching sound echoed through the battlefield with Zuyuan as the center. The sound of wailing evil spirits full of curses and malicious intent assaulted everyone's psyche at this instant.

The sound came out from Zuyuan's sword and was supplied by Zuyuan's Qigong. A lot of missionaries had been able to endure or block it through special means or skills, but the rest of them had to hold their heads as they were those who depended on firearm technologies or were weak enough without some kind immunity skill. But one thing was true, that after the sound wave created by Zuyuan spread into the battlefield, it halted the battlefield advancement as everyone beside Zuyuan himself was affected in one way or another.

Taking use of the chance, Zuyuan materialized his transparent doppelgangers and let them wreck havoc on the nearby missionaries that were weak enough to be attacked by the sound wave. Maximizing Estgard's sharpness and might with his phantom sword technique, along with his ultimate burst of speed, Zuyuan moved in the battleground like a hungry ghost that sought for blood.

Each time he passed a group, two or three heads would roll down the ground. Identifying for openers he saw as one of the weakest in the group, Zuyuan's hunt for life had earned him more than fifteen souls within five seconds. As he got nearer towards the man who had shouted the stone giant's name previously, Zuyuan was about to slash the guy's neck before he was stopped with three bladed hand blades wielded by a cheetah-looking beastman.

"Pick on someone with your own speed." Stated the beastman calmly with eyes filled with thick, killing intent.

"Be my guest." Replied Zuyuan immediately with a smirk.

Pushed back Estgard blade, both of them quickly moved across the battlefield with unnatural speed. Every second, they would already exchange blows more than ten times. But as time passed and they moved on the battleground like two ghosts dueling against one another, the beastman started to frown as he noticed his hand blades' durability dropped a lot between each of their blows.

"That's not an ordinary steel blade, isn't it?" Asked Zuyuan in curiosity while he unleashed another barrage of slashes at the beastman. Although Zuyuan slowly had the advantage the more time passed, not to mention he was the one who led the Fight's pace, Zuyuan couldn't help to widen his eyes as he tried to suppress his shock and awe.

It was the first time that Zuyuan found an opponent that would be able to keep up with his ultimate speed. Even though he had met such foes, it was when he was still on his home planet and those people there were the definition of monsters. So far in his experience after meeting with the thing called the 'Death System', there haven't been any opponents to react fast enough with his ultimate speed.

'No.. Perhaps that man could..'

Remembering a certain man who held a spear that he met in the Hall of Fame, Zuyuan knitted his eyebrows as he remembered how he couldn't react fast enough with the other party's speed.

After five minutes passed, Zuyuan found a gap between endless assaults from the beastman. Utilizing the micro second gap on those assaults, Zuyuan finally had his slash connected to the beastman's skin and flesh. Tearing apart the beastman's right thigh in the blink of an eye, the beastman swiftly moved his body slightly as he sent another torrent of blows.

After parrying each of the blows and forcing Zuyuan into a passive stance, the beasman stepped back quickly as he tried to catch his breath. Moving his gaze downward to his right thigh, the beastman could see that the wound had torn some of his muscles tissues and his acceleration speed only worsened the injury.

"You are good." Spoke Zuyuan in an admiring tone as he was breathing heavily.

"What's this, tired already?" provoked the beastman while himself having a hard time to catch his breath.

"Heh." Chuckling at the beastman words while Zuyuan saw that his enemy condition was not too far off from him, Zuyuan was about to continue his attack before an unexpected assailant came from his left side.

Suddenly, purple smoke began to spread towards Zuyuan's direction in a sentient manner. Looking at the purple smoke, Zuyuan was about to move his body to the opposite direction before a demon with rough, purple skin, with size bigger than an elephant, and claws longer than some ordinary sword was swung at his back.

Turning his body behind, Zuyuan was to parry at the demon's attack. However, didn't wanting to miss the chance, the cheetah beastman started to charge at Luke right at that moment. Realizing that both of his enemies wanted to pincer attack him, Zuyuan frowned and called back his doppelgangers previously.

Unleashing his doppelgangers as fodder and meat shield, Zuyuan was able to take some distance between both of them. Noticing that the demon didn't move as fast as the beastman, Zuyuan's mind immediately decided to defeat the demon first before dealing with his other fast opponent.

Activating his ultimate speed once more, Zuyuan had arrived right on the purple demon and sent five slash in half a second. The demon has an unbelievably thick body, so although he had reinforced Estgard's sharpness to a whole other level, it still did not give a deep enough cut for each slice.

Clicking his tongue, Zuyuan swiftly changed his strategy and sent a barrage of slash into one spot instead of spreading it over. Two seconds as all Zuyuan needed to be able to tore apart the demon's left arm cleanly. As his sword was about to change direction to the demon's neck, the battleground began to shake out of nowhere and let Zuyuan's assault miss by a few centimeters.

"What the-"

Before Zuyuan could finish cursing about the sudden change in the battlefield, the demon's claw was quick enough to swing towards Zuyuan's left waist and blew him away.

"Gahk!"
